I ran upto him, my heart thudding in my chest and my breath hitching each second as he stood with his hands behind his back, almost like he was about to cry; I hated to see him like this.

It was the last day of our school, our farewell day, the last day we were all together at school and the end of our childhood. I couldn't forget my best friend right on that day!

Extending out both my arms wide, I took him into a tight hug, and I thought I could hear a little sob from his side. Was he crying?

His hands dropped from behind as he hugged back, keeping his head in my neck affectionately and having our last friendship moment. It was all going to be over.

Moments later, I could see his shadow move and move into a further distance as he ran with tears in his eyes, leaving me there, sobbing and weeping like a little kid. We came here crying - and now we're going to leave, sobbing.

As I was about to turn away and leave from my school forever, I saw a wide-open box left on the ground carelessly, and realised that that's what he had been holding behind his back since today morning. Dropping to my knees, I took it in my trembling hands. There was a diamond ring in it, with a small note beside it. I read it, curious. As I did, my breath stopped suddenly, and the tears in my dry eyes vanished to form a big cloud in my mind...

'I'll miss you so much... Please don't forget me.

I've loved you so much since the first time I talked to you, and whenever I talked to you, whenever I saw you in the crowd, my heart skipped a beat. You were my comforter, the best person I had in my entire school life.
