Woooo, so hey, guys! I need a bit more time for a proper update, but I still wanted to give you guys something!

I've gotten questions (& had plenty myself when planning this book) as to why I placed certain characters in such & such house. I figured I'd share a bit of my process!

First off, I listed out the houses & traits. Then, I made a small chart for muggle born, pureblood, & half-blood characters! This chart is where I started listing characters.

Muggle born were the least common and include:
Tyler, Max, Patrick, Breezy, & Sara

Pure Bloods were a bit more common, but still not the majority. They include:
Steven (Hoodie), Pete, Jamia, Frank, Melanie, Ashley (Halsey), & Hayley

Finally, we have the most common Half bloods! These guys include:
Josh, Gerard, Mikey, Brendon, Elisa, Ray, Joe, Andy, Dallon, Jon, Ryan, & Spencer

Now, I know I didn't list all my characters (PTV, sws, Jenna, atl, ext) but some were later additions, or they only had small parts so I didn't put as much into them. Although, it is arguable that some of these mentioned characters did have super small parts as well... Shush

Any who, back to the process!

As you can tell, these lil nuggets aren't in houses yet! That was next!

Some people were SO EASY to place, at least in my mind. I had clear pictures of where I wanted them to go. I figure the best way to explain my placements & why I feel like they fit the values of their houses would be to go by house & character sooooo... Let's do it!

Hufflepuff:
Values: hard work, patience, justice, loyalty

Gerard~ in this au, Gerard is a very caring friend. He immediately takes our boy, Patrick, under his wing and helps ease him a bit into the world. I imagined him as a very loyal character. When his romance with Frank would spark up (& come into trouble because I can't let my fictional children be happy) he'd be there by his side; he'd hold onto what they have/had, just full of hope. ((I'm so sorry Gee, I have HURT YOU))

Patrick~ Patrick is just a Lil ball of pure sunshine this was a no freaking brainer. He'd be so at home in that cozy common room, especially being a muggleborn. He'd slowly grow more comfortable in this magical world, but the Hufflepuff common room would always be his safe zone

Jon~ ah, my ghost boy, Jon. I just felt Jon fit that chill, Hufflepuff groove. I definitely knew I wanted someone that had seen the war, other than a Teacher, so that's where his ghostliness came from. Whenever I think of Jon, I'm taken back to pretty odd. The older feeling just made it make sense to me that he still be stuck in the past.

Max~ my boy!! Tbh, he could have been a happy Lil Ravenclaw (seriously debated having him in Gryffindor, but nah) but... Just look at him!! So fluffy & nice & smol (my actual son, don't look at me) I placed him here :) plus, I got that Gryffindor/Hufflepuff relationship & I love

Elisa~ She is just lovely & Patrick loves her so much & she just had to be here, easy place

Melanie~ Melanie is a very interesting character. I always envisioned her a bit like Luna, which could have easily placed her in Ravenclaw, but she is also very kind & loyal to her friends & eventual boyfriend

I really have no idea if I'm explaining this well!? Hope I am, haha

Ravenclaw:
Values: intelligence, creativity, learning, & wit

Ray~ so, Ray was still in the process of his solo album. He'd always tweet out videos n shit of his process & it left me like "yo, that's creative AF, RAVENCLAW"

Mikey~ this house placement also stemmed from his solo work. I mean, starting up your own band, writing stuff, creativity!! Plus, different house siblings, aw

Dallon~ absolutely no question. This tall ass nerd was straight to Ravenclaw. He definitely is high in the creativity department (buy violent things on iTunes) I personally think he's got great wit, which kinda goes hand in hand with his creativity but yaknow?? Ravenclaw, you nerd

Ashley ~ okay, you're going to see the repeating theme of solo work with the artists in this house, but c'mon the whole world around her album was pretty neato. That took creativity & (with her being the youngest IRL) I feel like she's constantly striving to learn

Breezy~ she is just as much of a nerd as her husband, which is why their relationship is beautiful.

Kenny~ again, solo work, he's done it! He's a super nice dude too, but I felt him here. Fun fact, he was one of the last ones, out of the main group, that I sorted

Gryffindor:
Values: courage, bravery, nerve, chivalry

Pete~ Pete was placed here because I find him very brave. He moved past hard times in his life and look at him now, my man. Plus, he's a bit of a goof, perfect for Gryffindor

Andy~ no question. Cross fit machine is a Gryffindor who will stand up for others and run a morning work out in the common room

Joe~ tbh, Joe was tricky. It really came down to the idea of him and Andy casually sharing a bed that let him fall into Gryffindor. Looking more at it, he's got a sense of bravery, always speaking out about politics and trying to bring light to youth about corrupt things, if that makes sense - ya know?

Steven~ Hoodie Allen. I just felt him here. I don't even have a good explanation. But aint he cute with my Hufflepuff boy, Max? Swappin' house scarfs & shit, adorable

Ryan~ to me, Ryan immediately stood out as a Gryffindor We may low key hate him for doing it, but it takes guts to leave behind the world you know to start all over again. (Where's that new music you promised, asshole). He tried, may not have worked out as well as panic!, but trying is the Gryffindor way. not letting an opportunity pass him by (except panic's success but yaknow I'm just lowkey salty PUT OUT SOME FUCKING MUSIC, ROSS) but, Yea!

Sara~ Sara is someone I felt would be good for Gryffindor. It may have been me trying to lessen the sausage party & have at least 1 girl in each house but, out of all the included females, she felt the most Gryffindor

Josh~  this boy is such a Gryffindor. He goes at those drums like harry went for quidditch (hence why he's also a star chaser for his house) I feel the bravery from Josh Dun. I feel the chivalry from josh dun. I just love the idea of Gryffindor Josh Dun.

Slytherin:
Values: Ambition, cunning, leadership, resourcefulness

Frank~ frank was a leader, right off the bat. When he saw poor, freaking out, Patrick he was quick to step up to the plate and explain what needed to be done. (Sure, he kinda left him on his own after, but he's 11 at this point. I had the shortest attention span at 11) Not only that, IRL frank is ambitious AF with all his bands & projects. SLYTHERIN.

Brendon~ he's workin with what he's got for a band-himself. Resourceful to make his own back room into his own studio & ambitious to make that whole album by himself like holy shit my fucking idol I love Brendon I'm still emotional from seeing him on the anniversary of Pretty Odd DONT LOOK AT ME, SLYTHERIN

Hayley~ my girl had that Slytherin spirit. Also, see sausage party breakup reasoning as listed above

Jamia~ by now, you know enough about her sly, cunning character to know why she's a Slytherin. Even resourceful, using Dallon to make the potions for her! She... slytherined to that house quite well haha

Spencer~ he's another one that kind of fell into place with his house. He's got that attitude (I hope in this) that distinguishes him there, but obviously has a softer side for his little Hufflepuff, which is why he was so determined to try & get Frank to sort things out with Gerard

Tyler~ tyler. My ambitious boy. He may be shy, quiet, & far from expected to be a Slytherin -especially considering blood type- he grows into his house. He does so well in his classes, even using skills from the muggle world to help earn house points. His ambition to prove himself and help his house win the cup didn't consume him, however. He's caring for his friends, he wants everyone around him to be happy & healthy & he's a pure boy

This isn't even all the characters or reasons but we also have to add in the fact that this was all plotted out last year, and some of my reasonings have left the brain bank/been hidden THERE'S SO MUCH MORE

but, anyway, I didn't want to put out unfinished content & a nice little sit down/explain felt fun!
