Chapter 6 ( The Faustinian Spider)

Claude's P.O.V.

Claude had made it in time to wake Alois and start his morning routine. As expected, he did not know that Claude was gone, thought Claude as he poured Alois's tea. He then went to fetch his outfit for today as he began to undress him. He slipped on his white shirt and Alois began to slowly unbutton his shirt as Claude had finished buttoning them. Alois was laughing slightly.

Alois: Am I annoying you?

Claude only looked up at him momentarily with his signature emotionless expression and then pushed up his glasses to the bridge of his nose.

Claude: No

He then continued to button Alois's shirt a second time

Alois: Pff, your no fun.....

Claude had paid Alois no attention, if anything he wanted to finish his duties as quickly as possible so that he could investigate the woman he saw last night. Alois looked up at Claude as if he some how knew what he was thinking.

Alois: I know its Saturday and as I always promise you, this is one of your days off. I know your just dying to get away from me, so just go already, I'll get that cow Hannah to finish up.

Claude did not hesitate to leave Alois, after all he DID tell him to go and like any good butler, he would follow his Master's request. Off he went, back to the small house in the clearing as he bounded from rooftop to rooftop. When he had arrived, he peered through a bedroom window to see that the woman was still asleep. He changed into his spider form and crawled in through the window across the room, up the bed leg and planted himself right next to the warm dozing body.

 Reader's P.O.V.

(Y/N) had awoke at her regular time as usual. Only thing is, it was Saturday so she could relax at her leisure. She was half awake as she turned in her bed. She slowly opened her half lidded, fluorescent (eye color) eyes and was shocked by what she saw. There was a giant spider smack on the side of her pillow, where her face was only centimeters away from possibly being bitten.

(Y/N): GAH! (You let out a short gasp).......um........

The spider only continued to stare at her, unfazed by her sudden movement.

(Y/N): How did you get in here?

I didn't know why I spoke to the spider as if it would speak back to me. I knew it wouldn't say anything but after a while of having only yourself as company, you slowly start talking to things that are alive but can't necessarily speak back to you.

I observed the spider, it seemed friendly and docile. A normal spider would have moved more or bit me just about now. This one was fairly large however, maybe 5 or so inches, and it was very  wide. It was actually very pretty. It appeared a goldish brown color and had the most interesting design on its abdomen. The most noticeable feature were its dashing gold eyes.

(Y/N): Aren't you pretty, sadly you have to leave, your a little too big to stay here plus you could be poisonous.

As expected still no response. You, suddenly get up and walk over to your closet. You open it and pull out an old shoe box and walk back to were the spider was still lounging. He seemed curious as he inspected you. You then scooped him up in the shoe box and place it on a shelf.

You then go off to do your morning routine and then come back to lift the shoe box lid and peer at the spider inside. Why do I get the feeling that I should keep him? The spider did seem rather unique. This was when you got an idea. You then place the shoe box lid back in place.

(Y/N): Wait here, if you manage to get out of there, I'm warning you that there are a lot of birds outside that eat spider's and there may be hungry lizards inside. (Which reminds me, I should do something about that....)

With that said you rush back to your closet to pull out a jacket and throw it on, you then go to the door and slip on your shoes. I walk out and close the door behind me. My destination today was the library. Since I had caught a possibly rare spider I had wanted to do some research on it and there was no better place to go when you wanted to know something: The Library. The library was huge, it had its own designated spot on the corner a few blocks away from were you worked. When you reached it you went inside and was instantly noticed by Mr. Epps the Librarian.

Mr. Epps: Hello there (Y/N), It's been a while since you dropped by. How may I help you today?

(Y/N): Hello Mr. Epps, I was just wondering if you had any books on spiders?

Mr. Epps: Why yes we do, would you like one on a specific species or a variety?

(Y/N): A variety.

Mr. Epps: Very well, one moment...( Mr. Epps turns around and dips into the many aisles of books)

He returns momentarily with a huge brown book in hand.

Mr. Epps: Here you are dear.

(Y/N): Thank you very much, I'll return it as soon as I finish it. Good bye.

Mr. Epps: Very well, have a nice day.

With the book in hand, you return home and enter your bedroom. You make your way to the shoe box still hoping the spider had not escaped. When you lifted the lid you were relieved it was still there, looking up at you with its beautiful golden eyes.

(Y/N): Ok, it's time to see what species you are.

I open up the book and proceeded to scroll through the library book, careful not to miss any pictures or descriptions that matched the strange spider. It took me two hours to completely finish scanning through the 40,000 species of spiders. All , that were not the spider you had caught. You sigh as you think to yourself.

(Y/N): Maybe your a new species? Yes that's it. It makes sense if I cant find you.

I had reached the end of the book only to notice it had a few blank pages. I grab a pen off of my dresser and begin to scribble in a few words. I brought the shoe box with the spider inside, closer to me. I glanced at it.

(Y/N): If anything, you need a name first.

But when naming a new species, you couldn't just put any name. It had to fit the species, it would permanently follow that species forever. Only I had no idea what to name it, or at least I thought when the perfect idea came to mind. It was perfect, you didn't know if this name just was randomly selected from the back of your mind but you were certain that this was the perfect title, as you sat against your bed and scribbled on the page.
