↠calling ➳ This is not so much a nickname or calling that she has received from others, than it is something she has likened herself to over time. 'The Ebony Rose' is something she has taken relation to, as it has come to define her and her past. The black rose does not exist naturally, whereas the main natural coloration of a rose is red. The 'ebony' in this title comes from her different, seemingly impure and scarred physical features. Ever since her accident, she has always looked different than others. The 'rose' is in reference to her guarded nature. After all, moving to quick to pick a rose from it's bush can cause you injury via the thorns.

⊱ sole meaning, It can either mean 'gift of the sun', ironically since her pelt is a beautiful black phase— or it can mean 'comrade in arms'.

↠base pelage ➳ Her pelt is a rich, velvety shade of ebony the color of thickened, inky oil.
⊱ accentuating palate, Blended in within the ebony are light and dark silver, moonkissed shadings phasing throughout her coat. It generally makes her appear as though she were a walking night sky littered in clouds of stars.

↠eye shape ➳ Large and ferally slanted.
⊱ eye color, A piercing, chilling shade of pale golden.

↠anatomy,

— When she was only three months of age, Elide would have looked like she had been through an entire stampede of wild bison to other eyes. The typical 'unscathed' and pure appearance a pup should have was brutally taken from her one day. Her front right foreleg had only been hanging by a mere few inches of flesh and had to simply be removed by the healers as a whole. Claw marks and gashes littered most of her small body and face, now healed into visible, permanent pale scars where fur ceases to grow.

— Despite her battered appearance, Elide is an elegantly built she-wolf, possessing a lean and wirey anatomy yet she is most certainly what one would call 'a lot of leg'. She is indeed a tall female with large paws, making it clear that even she seems to rival the height of her own father. Of course, Elide was never intended to develop a burly, muscular and broad build like Harpocrates but has inevitably inherited the lofty gene. When she was born, Elide's pelt was solid black until it began phasing out after the first month. Since then, there has been a highly noticeable trace of silver and white coming through the base ebony coloring along her back and sides, and around her face especially. Her eyes are large and rounded, sporting an intense shade of alluring pale golden eyes that contrast beautifully against her moon kissed shadowy coat. Yet sit within a way that almost everyone is fixed with a cynical, venomous glare even.

— She is very willowy and feminine-like in her stature, appearing as though she were malnourished however that is not the case.

— Her body is littered in multiple scars, mostly along her sides and face. Claw wounds from a past accident that would never completely fade away. She is also missing her front right foreleg.

— However, from experiencing and going through a heavily traumatic event as a pup, Elide's natural innocence and bubbly behavior a wolf of her age , at the time, should possess, was severed. Before the tragedy, Elide was once your typical happy-go-lucky pup without a single care in the world, enjoying her early days by her late mother's side and wrestling around with her brother, Nero. Though after, the fire she had within her seemed to significantly dull and she became more hesitant and shy. She tended to keep to herself quite a bit instead of wanting to socialize with all the other members of the pack. However if others ever approached her for some type of interaction, she'd more or less force herself to sit and try to humor them. When in reality, she always felt a sense of anxiety and often times even fear.

— The she-wolf was an anxious soul and quite easily worried. For a practical child, stress over what others would see as little things seemed to find her very easily. Though she was a being that wouldn't dare hurt the smallest ant, likely not even if her life was threatened over it. Elide unfortunately knew all too well what it is like to be hurt, especially physically. Her intentions were kind and her gentle heart led her to want to help others out if they really need something, despite how she had grown extremely introverted. It was a wonder her tragedy didn't have a much worse impact on her than it truly did. Yet even through it all, Elide wanted only to portray kindness and selfless care toward others. Perhaps even to simply put a smile on their faces, much like her grandfather Zuko was once known for. His warm and welcoming personality.

— Now, however...

As Elide grew to reach her young adult years, life simply caused her to flesh out and grow. While some of these happenings impacted her positively, others did quite the opposite. The she-wolf learned to find her voice when she needed to protect herself. She grew tired of always being treated in a different manner within the pack simply because she is disabled. The whispers and murmurs of others caused her to grow bitter and rather cold; she most definitely grew a backbone. This is not all to say that Elide lost her sense of kindness. She still does have a heart for some, however, it is halfway frozen over. She is more prone to snapping and simply finding herself in awful moods. Elide definitely has a sharp tongue to her and is no stranger to using it against those who have managed to piss her off. Yet she is also not afraid to get physical. Even if she is not the best fighter by no means, she has teeth and claws...and her father is Harpocrates, so she does know how to hurt someone should she need to.

— Her negative behavior mostly stems from her fear of letting go and putting her trust in others. It is a defense mechanism to keep people away and she simply finds it rather difficult to just let someone in properly.

Elide is very close with her father. She always has been, even from puphood, though she grew even more attached to him after the passing of her mother. She is most definitely a 'daddy's girl' and wherever he went, she was always following; unless she simply was not allowed, of course. Despite how others view him or what may be said about him, Elide loves him deeply and there is really nothing that could ever change that. In other words, she is not the one to come and complain about him to.

— Elide may have been closer with her father, but she adored her mother as well. What she could remember of her, at least. Naomh died when Elide was quite young but she could still remember the sweet sound of her voice and the warmth of her scent; how beautiful she was in her eyes. Naomh is but a memory now, a painful one, as the subject of her death doesn't set well with Elide.

— She has a love for insects, more specifically the odd-looking ones that most would avoid or be fearful of.

— When she was around three months old, her and a few other pups were playing just a little too far from camp and were oblivious to the fact they were being watched and stalked by a large wild cat. It managed to get ahold of her while the others ran back into camp for help. It damaged her front right limb to the point there was no saving it in the end. If she had been any further from camp, it was very likely that the big cat could have easily finished her off and dragged her away as quickly as it came.

— Staring at her for long periods of time will make her uncomfortable and even agitated.

— She actively avoids bodies of water that hold a reflection and any area that a mountain can be scented.

— She can catch the smell of just about any herb on the wind and be able to not only track it down but tell you exactly what it is as well.
