Today was the day of Phillips funeral, poor Phillip, I hope he is in a better life now, this never should have happened. Huh, that was the same thing I told mrs. Mckulk. Guess old habits die hard, whoops! Should not have let the 'death' bit slip, all well it's already happened.

When I went to the Mckulk's residence I was introduced to mrs. Mckulk who is a lovely lady, even though she can be very true-full, no filter on that woman. Anyways I never met mr. Mckulk, he was just simply too busy doing work on the farm. And as for David well he was most probably on the park bench as always, wondering about life or just being plain nosy, reading his mothers material. And as for Jake well, he never did tell me that he told his parents about me being his future wife, otherwise who knows I would have dressed better for the occasion.

Anyways today is about Phillip.

As usually I walked outside me and my mothers home which is so conveniently in the middle of town. So convenient that everyone can see my tear stained cheeks. And to add to the whole depressing scenario, I was wearing a black dress and it was raining. This sure is a sad, depressing day.

I walked with my head held low, walking to the graveyard to bid my farewell to Phillip. I was about half way there when someone came waltzing in front of me and guess who it was,low and behold it was Jacob, bloody Jacob can't he take a hint and move out my way, "hey Serena." He said, as my head held to the floor.

"Jacob leave me alone." I said in a not bothered tone.

"Please Serena let me explain." He said in a small begging tone.

"No Jacob I've heard enough, how dare you be so selfish! Today is Phillips day, for that poor soul will always be remembered. So leave me alone Jacob, I don't want you near me!" I shouted at him, not in the mood what so ever.

"Please Serena." He whispered, gently grabbing my arm, as his hand slowly tried to grasp mine.

"Leave me alone!" I shouted tugging my arm away from him.

"NO!" He shouted as he held onto me for dear life.

Then thankfully a familiar voice spoke up, "Jacob leave Serena alone, she said leave so leave!" He stayed.

Thankfully Jacob let go of my arm and unconsciously knowing what I was doing, I ran into Jakes arms and held on like my life depended on it.

It took Jake a second to realise but after that second he held me tightly, after about a minute of just holding each other Jake whispered into my ear, "like I said, I will never leave you alone again."

And as he said that the corners of my mouth started to rise, he really is a smooth talker.

Me and Jake then both looked at Jacob who looked at us with a wide mouth and stuttered, "n...n....no......
sh...e.....s.....m.....mi.....mine." Then just like that he disappeared out of sight.

Once Jacobs presence was fully gone, Jake put his arm around me in a comforting manner. As for me well I just left my head hanging low.

Once we got to the funeral, there where many people to say farewell. Many tears were being shed even though the ceremony hadn't even begun, but I guess Phillip made such an emotional impact on people that it hurt to see him in this state.

My eyes wondered through the crowd until I saw mr and mrs. Mckulk, as well as David. I slowly started to tug Jake over to his family, as he just stared at the coffin.

We eventually got to the mckulks. Mrs. Mckulk was crying her heart out into mr. Mckulks shoulder, he was comforting mrs. Mckulk and as for David I saw a single tear slip from his eyes, he always likes to keeps his emotions to himself.

As soon as mrs. Mckulk saw jack she grabbed ahold of him and cried into him, jack didn't react in anyway to this, he just stared at the coffin.

I looked at mr. Mckulk who just stared at his wife, then his eyes landed on me and then I gave him a friendly smile, however he didn't return the smile, instead he just glared at me, dear god Serena what did I do now? Did I already do something wrong even though I have never met this man in my life? I started to panic as the ceremony began.

It was a beautiful ceremony, the pope spoke in a heartfelt way, I guess Phillip literally had a relationship with everyone, somehow.

Then it came to the speeches and first was mrs. Mckulk, she took her place beside Phillips coffin and place her hand on top of it, "my dear boy-" more tears came flooding down mrs. Mckulks face, "I remember when you were in diapers and saying how you wanted to make people smile and be truthful, from such a young age you knew yourself so well. If you don't believe your mama then look around you, look at all these people you have effected with your kind heart. My dear boy, I already miss you just like I did when you and your friends left town to go and have fun, even though it was a weekend it felt like forever, even though this time it will be forever, however I must be optimistic for you my son so I will hope to see you someday, and until that time comes I will be staying right here until you come home because I don't know what I will do without that gleaming smile of yours and you outrageous cockiness, which by the way you certainly do get from your father-" she and the crowd laughed a bit with tear stained cheeks, "until then dear son, I will miss you but most of all I will always and forever love you." She then put her head to the coffin and gave it a kiss before walking back to mr. Mckulk.

There were a few other speeches but none compared to mrs. Mckulks heartfelt speech. Then Phillips coffin got put into the ground which made everyone erupt in tears all over again, then everyone took it in turn to lay a rose on top of his coffin.

After that everyone slowly walked away as the gravedigger started to place the dirt on top of Phillips coffin, no one wanted to see this part so they slowly walked away.

Once outside the cemetery, mr. Mckulk pulled me aside away from everyone and started talking to me harshly, "you should have never shown up to Phillips funeral-" I just stood there in shock, "look what you have done to my family, this was all your fault, you took me and my wife's son away from us and you have the nerve to show up at his funeral, you have no right-" he stared at me before pushing me to the muddy floor which now caused the mud to pour all over me and throughout all this I kept my head held low, "look at you, your a piece of filth, what my poor son Phillip saw in you for him to get himself murdered I will never understand. You should be in the ground right now, dead and not him-" tears started slipping from my face, "you should have accepted your death, and not let my son die. You, are nothing, if you died no one would care, maybe they would be relieved however my son was cared about by all, do you see the difference girl." He then spat at me and nudged me with his foot, telling me to clear off, however before I could go anywhere he grabbed my arm harshly and whispered, "stay away from my family!" And with that he shoved me away.

I quickly speed walked him, that was until Jake came beside me, "Serena, I've been looking everywhere for you." Oh god no, I have to hurry.

So with that thought I sped off walking again however Jake is quicker than me and grabbed ahold of my arm pulling me to face towards him, however when he turned me around to face him my arm started to hurt so I tugged my arm out of his grasp and grabbed it.

Jake didn't have it though and grabbed my arm and looked at it, oh god I should have worn a long sleeved top, "who did this to you?" He questioned with no emotion evident on his face, "no one." I answered.

"Well when I came and got you from Jacob you didn't have a mark on your arm, and I know for a fact that no one got to you during the ceremony as I was with you the whole time, so after the ceremony who did this?" He pointed at the mark on my arm.

"As I said before, no one, now I need to go." I was about to rush past him before he pulled me back.

"Was it Jacob, cause I swear down I will-" I quickly stopped him, "no it wasn't Jacob." I now started to panic, is not even ament to be communicating with him.

"Well then who?" Jake now seemed to be getting impatient.

"Jake stop." I began to become annoyed.

"No Serena, who did this to you?" That's when I saw mr. Mckulk standing there and now I was scared.

"As I said before no one!"

"Serena please I am trying to help you." I had to think of something to get away from him.

"No Jake , your not helping me, just leave me alone." And with that I stormed past him.
