"Hello, this is Warlock Co. How may I help you?" I answered the office's phone as I work away on my laptop.
After last week's drama, I finally convinced Vylad to let me work in the Warlock Cooperation, working beside Xander.

It just makes me calm for some reason and even though Xander was giving me the littlest of work that needs to be done, I can take it. But I just want something challenging.

"Why I have never heard you with such formality..."

I rolled my eyes. "What is it Travis?"

"Well just want to call if you like to have lunch with me?"

"Hmmm well my lunch break is in 20 minutes."

"Cool I'll pick you up, I'm in a close location."

"Alright."

"Besides I want to discuss to you about....you know what..."

"What?"

"Oh sis, you little jokester, you should know what's coming up."

"Travis I really do—"

"Okay I got to go. See ya sis!"

*Beeeepppp*

I can't tell if Travis is being Travis or him being stupid. But wait Travis is stupid.

I sighed and continued typing Xander's future schedules.
My desk is just right outside Xander's office, I'm working as his secretary, not assistant, secretary.

"(Y/n)...." I look up from my laptop and pull up a fake smile. "Lilia....you're late...for 2 hours." She's the assistant...

"Well you'll understand when you need to take time in getting yourself ready." She rolled her eyes and gave me a snobby look while puffing her hair.

Who does that?! And what is the purpose?!

"Well I think the boss wouldn't like how you're late.
Especially when he had 3 meetings this morning without your assistance."
I said with gritted teeth.

"He'll understand, even though he's your cousin, I know him better.
He'll forgive me when I walk into the room, trust me." She gave me a smirk and went straight inside his office.

I really hate that girl. Even though I'm Xander's secretary, she treats me as if I am her assistant which I'm not!

The first time I saw her I knew how she's like just how short her skirt was and I know Xander wouldn't date a girl like her.

I'm just upset and disappointed how he haven't told her about Cadenza or maybe he has but that girl has a thick skull and wouldn't have that pass through to her.

Seriously I would fire her myself.

•Xander's POV•

"Of course Cadenza..."

"I'm sorry, it's just. This would be our first date and I'm scared."

"Don't worry, let's just be casual and talk comfortably."

"I like that..."

"Great, I'll pick you up as soon as I get off from work."

"Don't work yourself too much."

"Yeah, I won't if my assistant would stop being late..."

"You really need to tell her."

"Awww are you jealous???"

"W-What?! Xander!"

"Kidding, kidding. I'll handle it, don't worry."

"Good."

"You are jealous!"

"Shut it Xander, I'll see you at 6."

"Haha, Bye."

"Bye."

I smiled and placed my phone down and went back to my computer. I continue sorting out my files and heard the door open and heels clicking.

"You're late...." I said in a low voice.

"Oh come on baby....you can't be possibly mad at me. Especially how I took my time in making myself pretty for you~"

I look up and saw her dressing like a complete slut.
(I didn't know if I should put warnings, but oops.
Those who don't know what that word is.......it's something you shouldn't worry about.)

"You are breaking the dress code by wearing....that outfit."

"But I thought you'll like it." She twirls around, causing her skirt to fly up.

I raised an eyebrow and massage the bridge of my nose.
"Could you just work?" I asked already stress from the big project we will be having with the Ro'meaves company.

"Hmmm I would, but where's the fun with that?" She said as she suddenly sat on my lap.

I cringed in disgust and tried to push her off, but she won't budge.

"Lilia, this is not the time. Plus I already have someone to be with."

"Oh she won't mind if she could share, would she?"

I glared at her and tried pushing her off even more, but she just have her hands wrapped around my neck and clinging onto it like a koala.

Then the door opened and in came (y/n) which I sighed in relief and finally got Lilia out of my lap.

"Sorry to bother you 'love birds' but Lilia you got to organize the reports from the planning of the project and you have to make next months planning schedule." (Y/n) Says.

"Ugh! Can't you do it?" Lilia scoffed.

"You are the Boss' assistant, I am just his secretary. Meaning you have more work to do than just sitting here and look pretty."

Lilia brushes her clothes and stomped towards (y/n), grabbing the paper from her hand and slam the door shut when she got out.

"You have no idea how much I thank you...." I said as I relaxed in my seat.

"You got to get a new assistant. I don't think I can handle that girl anymore."

"Yeah, I really want her out. But who will ever be my assistant that won't grow overly attached to me...."

•YOUR POV•

"Xander....." I stood there, seeing him sulking.

"I'll find a solution, but for now let's just get back to work." He said as he starts typing on his computer.

"Does Cadenza know? You know the full extent?" I ask.
That made him froze and stayed still.
"I really want you to fix this mess, before Cadenza knows everything. Or else what will happen to you two?"
I sighed and looked at the time.
"Let me know if there is in need of help, I'll try everything that I can do."

I walk towards the door and left his office, returning back to my desk.

~Time Skip~

"So what is this thing that you wanted to talk about?" I asked Travis as I set down my tray.

"You're joking right?"
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow and he took that as a surprise.
"You really forgot?!"

"Okay just cut to the chase, I don't get all day." I drink my water as I was waiting for his reply.

"Tomorrow is Vylad's birthday?"

I spit out the water onto Travis. "W-What?!"

"And now I'm soaked....."

"Seriously! It's Vylad's birthday tomorrow?!"

"How can you forget? Out of all people, you should be the one to remember it."

"I-I-I....I guess I forgot cause I was b-busy with work...."

"Oh my Irene, this isn't going to be good...."

"Travis...." I grumbled.

"Okay how about this, me and everyone else would handle the surprise party. For now you'll focus on getting a gift for Vylad.
When you get out of work, you right away head to the mall and buy his gift."

"Sounds like a plan, thanks Travis."

"Anything I'll do for my brother in law."

I smiled and we both continued our talk.
But just one problem, I don't know what to get for Vylad....

~Time Skip~

"I hope you're happy that I finished all of my duties. Now if you'll excuse me, I would like to meet my Xander." Says Lilia as she plopped the stacks of paper onto my desk.

I smirked. "Oh that's a shame, you just missed him."

"Missed him?! But he gets out of work at 8! It's just 7 right now!" She exclaimed.

"Well he took off from work earlier, cause he is going on a date. Let me emphasize that, a 'date'"

"B-But! No!"

"Yes. Now suck it up and help me fill in the reports that I just send you."

"There's no way Xander would be with another woman! I'm going home!"

Lilia starts walking off. "Hey! You can't do that!" I exclaimed.

"Or what will you do? I'm making sure Xander wouldn't be off with another woman again!"

She got into the lift and head straight down.
I sighed and called Xander.

•Xander's POV•

"Awww Xander that's sweet of you..."

She smelled the flowers and gave me a smile and I just see a little blush across her cheeks.

I blushed lightly and scratched the back of my head.
"N-no problem....."

"Sir, your table is ready." The waiter said.

I nodded and lend my arm to Cadenza, which she gladly looped her arm around it.

"This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, how did you find such a place?" Cadenza asks.

"I know a lot of people who owns their own food business. This one actually belongs to my bestest friend."

"Remind me to thank him for having a free spot specially for us. Especially that this is a popular restaurant and not to say that it is a Friday.
It's a perfect place for a nice Friday night date..."

"Of course...." I smiled down at Cadenza.
She's an absolute jewel, I'm happy I get to meet a woman like her.

We got seated and look through the menu. Well not for me, I was just too busy looking at Cadenza and the dress she was wearing, More like wearing the dress she designed herself.

She's really beautiful.

"So what will you be having Xander?" Cadenza asks as she looked through the menu.

I got out of my trance and look at the menu. "I-i...maybe some pasta."

"I was thinking that too."

I smiled and called the waiter. We ordered both our food and drinks, now having the time to talk to each other.

"Cadenza, why not tell me some things about yourself."

"W-well I was born in the country side, Meteli with two brothers. 1 older and 1 younger. I'm sure you know Laurance by now, he is my oldest brother."

"I didn't know."

"Well I was adopted...but I love my family very much."

"I bet."

"How about your family?"

"Well....my parents are just....they're always so busy and never acknowledge me, even as a child. The only cousins I have is Travis and (y/n), and the rest of my family...well that's just history.

We're the only descendents of the demon warlock."

"That's quite interesting, but have you ever talked to your parents about the situation?"

"No...."

I look down at my plate and felt a soft touch on my hand. I look up and saw Cadenza holding my hand. "I'm so sorry....but you know you have me, (y/n), Travis and everyone to be here for you."

I smiled and brought Cadenza's hand close to me. I kissed it gently. "Thank you......"

Cadenza blushed which is adorable.

I then felt my phone ringing and I excuse myself outside.

"Of course, go ahead." Cadenza Says. I smiled sweetly at her before walking out to the little garden and where the lake is.

"Hello?"

"I know I'm disturbing your date right now, but we got a problem."

"(Y/n)? What's wrong?"

"Lilia knows about your date with Cadenza and she just left the office.
I think she's searching for you."

"Well nothing to worry about, she won't know where I am."

"You might reconsider that considering that she knows everything about you."

"Don't worry, I'll be fi—"

"*Sighs* Let me guess.....she found you."

"She found me!" I quickly hid behind the bush and look up to see Lilia exiting her car, looking as angry as ever.
"What do I do?!"

"Go back to Cadenza and be there for her. Lilia's mission is to get rid of Cadenza, you must be there for her."

"Right. Thanks for the warning and advice."

I turned off my phone and quickly went back in the restaurant.

"Hey you Alright? Haha, you got a leaf on your head."

Cadenza pull out the leaf from my hair and I sat down.
"Everything is alright. Don't worry."

"If you say so. While your gone, the food arrived. So let's eat."

I nodded and picked up my fork, ready to eat.

Me and Cadenza ate silently, but I do still keep in mind that Lilia is here.
I just hope she doesn't see me....
Oh who am I kidding, she will!

"Are you sure you're okay, you look really worried. If you need to go home I'm sure we can take this out to go and get you home...." Cadenza said.

"No, it's fine really. I have been waiting for this date to come and I don't want to ruin it."

Cadenza smiled and grab a napkin. "Well Alright, But you should learn on how to eat properly." She laughs as she wiped some sauce out of my face.

I laughed along, until.

"Oops my bad." My eyes widen to see Cadenza soaked in ice cold water with Lilia holding the bucket above her head.

"Lilia!" I growled.

I went over to Cadenza's side and took off my jacket, wrapping it around her. She was shivering and I saw some tears coming out of her.

"Why would you do that?!" I exclaimed at Lilia.

"You should know better in not going on dates with cheap stock girls. Am I not good enough for you?!"

"W-w-What..?" Cadenza said.

"We're not even dating or will ever be Lilia! So you can't tell me who I or I cannot be with!"

"You don't mean it!"

"I do! So leave me and Cadenza alone!"

"After all they things we've done! All the things we've done! The memories!"

"They were all nothing! I was selfish and I shouldn't have been like that. I'm sorry, but Lilia, please leave us alone."

"Urghhh! You'll regret this Xander and I'll make sure of it!"
Lilia than looked at Cadenza, pointing a finger at her. "And you! Don't you dare think that Xander is all yours! Soon he'll be crawling back to me and you better watch your back hun."

Lilia turned back to the exit and I just side hugged Cadenza, keeping her warm.

"I'm sorry....let's get you home and take the food to go...."

•YOUR POV•

What is a good gift for Vylad?! I've given him everything in his pass birthdays, but this is different.

I walk around the mall a bit more, trying to find something that he'll like.
A new sweater? Hoodie? Stove? Knife supplies?!
None of those are good enough....

*Ring Ring Ring*

I answered the call, without looking who it is.

"Hello?"

"Hey sweetie, where are you? I've been waiting for you for a hour already."

"Vylad, ohhh I'm so sorry. There's just something that caught up in work. You and Maya eat without me, I might be home late...."

"Alright, just don't overwork too much Okay? I love you."

"Love you too, mwah. Give kisses to Maya for me."

"Will do."

I ended the call and sighed. I look at the stores in front of me and none of them just seems not good enough for Vylad.

I check the time and it was almost time till the mall closes.
What can I get him.....

I than saw something shining through the corner of my eyes and turned to see the shop.

That's perfect!

•Xander's POV•

"I'm so so so so so so sorry!!! I should have told you, I should've done something before!"

"Xander.....you did all you can, but you standing up for me like that was the most heroic thing I have ever seen...." Cadenza Says.

We were at her house, on the couch by a nice warm fire.

"But I could hav—"

Cadenza our her finger against my lip. "Shush...this date might not have been perfect, but I couldn't have asked anything better than for a man to be so heroic tonight...."

"Cadenza....."

We both leaned in slowly, I put my hand gently on her cheek.

*RIIIINNGGG*

We both pulled away and I quickly grab onto my phone and saw it was (y/n).

"I-I-I'm Sorry!"

"Hahah it's fine, just take it...."

I stood up and head to the backyard and pick up the call.

"(Y/n)! Do you know that you just ruined my moment here?!"

"Whoops! Sorry....just wanting to call if everything was alright. I saw some headlines of you yelling at Lilia.
Got to admit that we are kind of famous right now."

"....everything's fine."

"Great, and I want to ask if you'll be coming to Vylad's surprise party tomorrow?"

"I'm surprise you just ask me now. Of course I'll come."

"Awesome, well bye. Get back to your moment."

She ended the call and I shake my head while chuckling. What a cousin I have.....

I went back inside and saw Cadenza yawning.
"It's getting late, I should get going..."

"O-oh ok..."

We both walk to the front porch, just saying our good byes.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow for Vylad's surprise birthday party, Alright?"

"Of course...."

I was about to say good bye but she just leaned in and gave me a sweet peck on the lips.

I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment before she pulled away.
"There's no way we will leave out on our first kiss together..." she smiled and I smiled too.

I brought her closer to me by her waist and gave her a sweet short kiss. "You are a remarkable woman..."

"I get that a lot."

We both laughed and I grab onto her hand. "I'll see you tomorrow. Bye..." I kissed her hand.

"Good Bye Xander, thanks for everything...."

I smiled and turned to my car. I got in and look out from the window to see Cadenza waving at me. I waved back and started the car, driving out of the neighborhood.

"I got my first kiss.....I GOT MY FIRST KISS!!!"

I know I shouldn't have done this.....but I just had this idea and I was just wanting to write cause I was bored!

And now literally, tomorrow's the start of my exams
