Ronin POV

I started climbing the steps with Luna in my arms. She was fast asleep but her ears kept twitching in every which way a noise came from. I tapped the earpiece three times again and spoke.

Me: Can you guys try to keep it down?

Supervisor: Yes sir.

Me: Thank you.

I turned it off and opened the door to the girl's shared room. I saw Ember laying there. Uncannily still as most times she moved a lot in her sleep. I ran over and put Luna on the bed before checking up on Ember. I shook her a bit and checked her pulse.

Me: Thank god.

She was alive and well from what I could see. Neither of them had any bruising so they were fine. I decided to leave the room and was about to do so when I heard their voices.

Ember/Luna: Papa?

I tapped the earpiece on again and quietly said.

Me: Leave as soon as you can. I don't want the kids seeing any of you.

Supervisor: Yes sir, but there are two individuals trying to enter the premises.

Me: Description.

Ember: Papa, who are you talking to?

Supervisor: Two females both with green eyes however the younger one has a darker shade. Oh shit, its the VIP's sir. Do I let them in?

Me: Yes, you all are excused, and switch out the sniper team for today.

Supervisor: Yes sir. Have a good day sir.

Me: Likewise.

I turned the earpiece off and turned around to find both of them right behind me. They were probably trying to listen in but didn't seem to hear anything other than my voice.

Me: Hello my little sugar cubes, did you sleep well?

Ember: Who were you talking to?

Me: Oh, just you're mother and grandma. They should be inside in a couple of minutes. How about we scare them?

Ember/Luna: Yeah!!

Me: Ok, you guys stay under your bed and once I bring them over you grab their legs. How's that sound?

Ember: Fun!

Luna: Yeah!

Me: Good, let me go get them and I'll bring them to the beds. Now get ready.

They nodded and ran under the bed, whilst I positioned their pillows and stuffed toys into two body like shapes.

Kass: Darling?

I heard Kass call out from most likely the front door.

Me: Shhh, get ready.

I told the girls as I heard them giggling.

Me: I'm here honey!

I said and started running out of the door, and jumping down the steps. I crashed into Kass and started snuggling into her whilst standing.

Kass: Uh, darling. Thats not me.

I looked down and saw that it was indeed not Kass, and was actually Ms. Adler. I shot backwards and apologized profusely.

Ms. Adler: Its ok Ronin, you got a bit confused. But may I ask why you ran off?

She said in a serious tone.

Me: I'll explain later just forget about it right now. And don't bring it up to the girls.

Kass: Why what happened?

Me: Lets just say those guys you saw I presume near the entrance had to take your daughter or sister.

I was grabbed in mere seconds by the collar of my shirt.

Ms. Adler: What did they do to her!

I glared at her as she did the same, our steely gazes clashing with one another. I shook my head and reversed the grab, bending her arm backwards enough to cause discomfort. Pinning her other arm to her side my tails and holding my claws at her throat.

Me: Listen here and listen well. I don't care if its the president of any fucking country, whoever even dares to attack my daughters will face no easy punishment. I don't care how far down I have to track them.

She tried to struggle in the middle of my monolog so I bent her arm further back and brought my claws closer to her neck.

Me: I will torture them till every last bit of sanity they ever had and ever would've had has been torn to spreads. The only reason I didn't shoot her in her god damn face is because she's still your guy's family. I warned her before. She might not be warned again.

Kass: Ronin stop please you're hurting my mom.

Me: She crossed a line when she grabbed Luna like that, and considering she only saw her as leverage over me I couldn't have cared less if the guards made her more lead than flesh.

She struggled again and I put the edge of claws onto her neck, applying enough pressure to draw the tiniest drop of blood.

Me: So you should consider her very lucky. Believe my word or not, I couldn't care less since I have the entire event on camera.

I let her go, removing my claws, tails, and realizing my grip on her arm. She stumbled forward with wide eyes.

Me: I don't recommend making an enemy out of me. I can hold a grudge for an obsessive amount of time.

She looked back at me with somewhat scared eyes as mine pierced into her soul, as I made sure to bore the sentence into her mind.

Kass: Why would she hurt them?

Me: All will be explained in time dear, all I ask is that you do not speak of what happened anywhere near them. I somehow convinced Luna that it was a dream, and convinced her to go to bed. They should be sleeping now and I was about to check up on them before you two came in.

I turned around and started walking towards the stairs.

Me: How about we all check up on them, in case something happens?

They both nodded along and I lead us up the stairs. Once in front of the door, I knocked on it before opening it. As expected the two decoys I set were unmoved and I didn't hear any giggling. I motioned Kass and Ms. Adler in and signaled them to be quiet by putting a finger over my lips. They stalked over to the bed as I slowly closed the door.

Me: How are they?

I asked quietly.

Ms. Adler: These aren't the girls!

My bolted over and as expected saw the decoys.

Me: What the hell!!!

I screamed. In seconds, the air was filled with loud shrieks as 4 hands came out from under the bed and grabbed the two. The three of us who planned the scare erupted into laughter. The girls let go of their legs and crawled out giggling and chuckling all the while. Ms. Adler and Kass looked pissed at me.

I was gonna get quite the earful.
