«Unexpected Father»

Your son's name is Shuji. I used it since everyone is using it, too.

. . .

"Here's your order sir, thank you for passing by!" (Y/n) smiled brightly, handing a wrapped pack of flavoured bread to one of her many customers.

After the customer took his leave, she took off her apron and smiled at the amount of bread and cake she has sold since this morning.

"No one comes around this hour so a small break won't hurt anyone." She mumbled and sat behind the counter in her stool, closing her eyes for a mere minute before the door to her bakery was pushed open.

"I'm back, mommy!" Her favorite voice echoed through the small store, which made her jolt her eyes open and yawn lightly.

"Welcome back, love." She stood up and carried her four year old son between her arms, squeezing him softly close to her chest.

"How was my prince's day?" She hummed while kissing his forehead gently and petting his fluffy brown locks, which she knew he loved so much.

"Pretty cool." He sloppily spoke, making her giggle.

"I made your favorite cookies~" she sat him down in his long baby chair, and sat a plate of brownish cookies with a warm cup of milk in front of him. The boy's eyes lit up in excitement, not forgetting to thank his mother before he started chewing on his favorite food.

"I need to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back." She kissed his head and headed upstairs, where she had a small apartment, leaving Shuji alone.

The four year old boy was humming softly while chewing on his cookies, only for him to stop when he heard the door to the store open gently.

Shuji's mouth was full of cookies when he looked to the side to see a tall man with similar features as his. The man returned his stare with what seemed like confusion in his brown eyes, not able to pull his eyes off the small boy in the store.

He swallowed what he had in his mouth and spoke. "How can I help you, mister?" Even though he was only four, Shuji tried to sound manly with the new customer.

The man couldn't speak, as if a cat really got his tongue.

He walked up to the boy until he was right in front of him, curiously scanning his features. He raised his hand and rested it against Shuji's cheek, holding a very sincere look in his brown eyes. "What's your name, little one?" The man whispered weakly.

"Mommy told me not to speak with strangers.."

The tall man chuckled softly. "Ofcourse she did." He immediately pulled his hand away and distanced himself from Shuji.

The look on the man's face couldn't be seen, due to his brown locks cascading over his eyes. He turned around, and left the store in silence.

. . .

"Mommy, look at me!"

Shuji spun around on bed showing his mother his new blue pyjamas. She smiled softly and clapped for him, which made him smile brightly and kiss her cheek. Both son and mother snuggled for good five minutes before (y/n) decided it was their time to sleep.

"Mommy, daddy loves us, right?"

The question made (y/n) freeze. Not even once in his life did he ask anything about his father. She had a feeling that he didn't want to hurt her by asking unnecessary questions, that's why he always avoided this topic.

She sighed and caressed his cheek gently. "Ofcourse he loves you more than anything, baby." She peppered his face with kisses until he ended up giggling.

"Now let's sleep honey, I don't want us to wake up late." The boy smiled and kissed his mom good night kiss before drifting to sleep in her arms.

What (y/n) didn't know was a certain someone breaking into her bakery, just to slide in a secret letter.

I really missed this story so bad so I had to write this chapter and publish it, even if it's not good.
