Chapter 4: Blue & Red Hands
Leaving the office he walked with Kakashi, a grin still stretched on his face as his arms rested behind his head. Least until he felt a burn at the edge of his neck, and he stumbled forward as he found himself gripping the area tight, tears forming at his corneas a whimper escaping unintentionally. He had felt it in previous while walking towards the gates of the village, but he had figured it an aftershock with a recurrence it felt less likely to be a moment of aftershock. His emotions felt more sensitive then as was normal too. "Missing your bonded already Naruto?" Kakashi teased his mouth curved underneath his blockading mask, Naruto stuck his tongue out. He gained an eyeroll, "its normal, newly mated Omega have a biological need to be near their bound for the sake of security." Absently registering the information, Naruto nodded, his hand tightening around the juncture of his neck as the absent wondering of if he could beat Kakashi crawled through his head without a conscious thought propagating the idea; he fought it down, rationality questioning the sudden urge.
Then once again, he smelt the tinge of olive oil and mint once again, Kakashi snickered almost in amusement beside him. "That's quite the warning scent there Naruto-" a silver eyebrow rose alongside a jilted headband, a teasing tone obvious as the man shoved his hands into his pockets, smile showcased by his one curved eyelid. "Powerful Alpha you've managed to bond unto." Naruto knew that he would have normally laughed at the atmosphere easing jest, but watching as his former teacher unconsciously step away, even if only minutly, had guilt frothing under his skin. "Don't worry," a hand was placed onto his head warm among his cooled skin, Kakashi once again where he had been within a millisecond.
It gave Naruto a pause, before he remembered the weight sitting in his back pocket, he may have pulled it out with a slight more flamboyance then normal. Presenting the gift to his teacher with a happy grin, it was rare he managed to get anyone a gift with the amount of money he earned; though he was hopeful to figure out a plan should his test come positive. Kakashi's eye was widened in shock then he smiled large as he gripped the book and flashed away, not a 'thank you' to be heard, though Naruto merely shugged for the joy he'd seen on the man had been enough.
Crying came to his senses then, not his own for he had managed to retain his tears, rather it came from the side of the building. Which in glancing, he saw a blob of pink, sitting still with her arms hanging off her knees head leaning into the palm of one while she let lose any emotion she had been building. Naruto tried glimpsing about to find someone who knew Sakura better then himself wondering about; he knew her, though he had never taken to truly comprehending his teammate, by origin they were near opposites: She had always pertained a family life and understood the ins and outs of living within a structured society that did not consider you an obstruction, she was invested in medical ninjutsu and had a choice in becoming a shinobi -whereas he was more adamant of learning combat for self-defense,- she was physically strong as an Alpha was expected to be -he was a more lean Omega.- Sakura was more stealthy and clever, she was everything he had once wished for.
He wiped his hands on his pants, not certain of what to say but walking over to her location anyway and sitting next to the crying woman. The concrete was uncomfortable and even unknowing, he jutted his legs out forward so that he didn't have to curl his abdomen in. His fingers fiddling about each other, she knew he was there because he'd made it obvious, so they were merely sitting in silence while he waited for her to speak because he had no smart thing to say. "Naruto?" His name came out as a whisper and he saw two emerald eyes peer at him through the shadow her hair was casting over her face, tears were obvious, and trailed down her cheeks. Even so, she straightened herself her lips pursed and he waited for whatever she was going to say. "You-" for a fractional moment she hesitated, then stood her back facing him, even as she looked over her shoulder; a threat lingering in her body language, as a glare took over her eye a line as her mouth. "-Need to stay away from me."
It stung as she walked away, a resonance deep within his gut that was the burn of abandonment. His head hung in shame as he listened to her footsteps fade, only bringing himself to reason that she was mad for his continuous lie.
His mark stung, and the tears he had been with-holding fell, it was bitter, but he really did miss Jiraiya's company. There was no inspirational speech made to cheer his sudden depression away, or joke to ease the pain that gripped with Sakura's departure, not a sudden laugh at a random ridiculous thought. He sat there for a while not caring as the sun began to dip into the pool of the horizon, he remained trapped within his own silence. He did count within his head how many friends he had lost, and came to a blockade wondering if he should count those who had been told he was a demon. He stopped counting; as he began missing Jiraiya's comforting simplicity.
---------------------------------
Exactly a week later, Naruto sat within his apartment, in solitary, attempting to write a letter; mishandling words and obscuring sentences in a display of his poor education. Though, he was more baffled by the concept of what he were to write in greeting, then how he was to write in general.
It was no shock unto himself when the pen fell from his hands and he stood in exasperation, already beside him was a list he had made in boredom. A carefully crafted listing of what he knew he might need should a new life be resting within himself- the very ideal had brought such a thrill into his chest that he had started to prepare for the possibility by clearing a space in his apartment for the crib he might need, along with precleaning and sanitizing areas that might have more filth in them then others. His previous baby blankets were also going through the process of disinfectant, they were far older then him and needed the extra care no doubt. It was a question upon his mind, that should he be found expecting, whether he would need to make way out of the village -without guard- to purchase necessary items as the shops within Konoha would certainly not allow him to buy anything, as was normality.
It was then that he heard the familiar clattering, pattering sound, repeating within his small room. His window frame shaking ever so slightly against the pebbles falling upon the glass, and he stood to look- for the last time such a thing had occurred it had been necessary to put up a wooden panel to block the window in precaution of the glass shattering. To glimpse now, he saw an unfamiliar figure dressed prepared for a mission, obviously, a man, the equipment he wore were clearly counterfeit cheap as his own, and he did not harbour a headband anywhere on his person. It was a guess; but Naruto had the suspicion it was a malicious teen banging on the glass, without wanting to be known. Maneuvering himself, he adjusted himself once more, for the seen of a malignant teenager was not an unusual one, and with his arrival back into his apartment, it would only prove more common that he would become harassed once again.
It was a random decision, rather brazen as he hadn't taken to shifting through his bookshelf in many years, from both his own absence- and his own lack of interest. Mainly it was compounded with comic books that had been given as a gift by the Third, many birthdays which as a child he had never candidly celebrated. They were a dictionary of sorts, in the circumstance of not being able to functionally read, to write a letter while mostly illiterate was far more a challenging task then he had considered whence beginning. He had yet to give into the exasperation, but decided instead to take a pause, he was capable of simplistic writing but to write in intention of speaking to anyone other than himself was not an easy task.
His eyes drew around the studio he called a home, and glimpsed at the cleared away space he had made in preparation- the clattering from the window frame still ongoing and steering at his thoughts. A hand ran through his hair in consideration, he had never made himself out as a strategist par any situation, however, he was certain that should a new life indeed be rested within many aspects would need to change or be compromised to fit in another; first his apartment, it was a worn area which had served him well for many continuous years, but in listening to the pattering glass outside he could acknowledge that it would not be safe for a newborn, or indeed him after birth. He looked once again at the list he had clumsily written, and wrote with horrid print; 'ask Tsunade for a new home after birth.'
It was then that he took a glimpse at the time of day, and forced himself into action upon realizing his test was very close at hand. Then again, even he was uncertain of what her plan entailed, for the child, nevermind himself. Therein he left the house, with an obvious dismissal of the rocks continuing to patter upon his window, for a matter he could not change. He bore upon him a large grin as he put his hands behind his head, and made his way to the Hokage building, even as he was sneered at in passing, it was a commonality he had learned well enough to ignore; although a twinge in his mind told him that his bonded should be there to help him fight them away, he resolutely focused on the building ahead.
He entered into the primary office after a knock admitted his company. In turn, he was met with Tsunade, Shizune, and a strange man who looked the age Tsuande was supposed to be, wrinkles adorning his features, with the obvious stature of a shinobi. The Hokage gestured to the vacant chair resting in the midst of the open room, a dour expression marred her face as she shuffled about her desk for a mask she put on near immediately- Naruto might have stared in not understanding why. He sat on the seat, with a glance to the unknown man which might've broadcast his confusion. The man was rather short, being around five-three, he had darkened brown hair and extensively pale skin paired with hazel eyes, marks of grey already treading through his wavy locks.
"This is Majira-san, he is a retired fuinjutsu expert of the ANBU, he aided in maintaining your mother's seal during your birth. Therein, should you be found pregnant, he will be aiding in your maternity, as he will make certain it does not weaken to the point of danger. Understood?" He nodded, with a reluctance twitching underneath his chest at the coy smile he bore, one which the blond found himself easing away from within the chair. Questions already coming to mind, as to if he had known his parents as a fuinjutsu expert and lived, then why had they died to seal the Kyuubi? It was at his tongue to ask, but with Tsunade's brisk pace and hands already aglow at his abdomen, he kept his mouth shut in resolution. Blue and red flared brightly in succession upon the soothing allure of her chakra-coated hands, and in turn, he saw the curvature of her eyelids as she gave him a smile- though her mask blocked the glow of her lip gloss.
"Congratulations Naruto, you're going to be a mother to a little girl! An Alpha I believe-" she held up a finger as she took of her mask in one graceful moment, a joking reprimand in her eye "-but I could be wrong on that." She stood, still smiling. He hardly gave her attention for the fact as he gripped the crevice of his abdomen, a brightened grin already adorning his features for the fact, a joyful red coating at his cheeks in complete happiness for the knowledge, he laughed at her cheer for the sake of his own. In fact, his legs near came to jumping as a spring for the gay vitality sprung into his heart unto the fact, that he would soon hold his own family as he had always desired. Though in regard to the other within the room, he turns himself to the fuinjutsu expert nearby and gains an obvious scowl in turn. Even so, he could hear the mutterance the man makes in his direction as Tsunade's heels clip to her desk.
"A creature such as you- disgusting." It was weak in comparison to all that he had heard in the path of his life as it were, he had been scarred physically and mentally with projected attempts upon his life, and the damaging words of harmful parents who considered him only an obstacle against their children in the academy. Students who had seen him as non-human had come to attack him both within and outside of the grounds, edges, tags, spike traps; he had seen them all on the ground and door of his own apartment, upon the chair of his student desk in the class. Hearing the occasional wrongful word whispered by a lugubrious man bore him little insult in comparison. So, he faced the man in complete conjuncture to his demeanour, grinning wide, covering where his baby rested in caution, his own eyelids upcurved slightly.
"Well, we have to work together, so we might as well get along right. I just want to say, that if you try to do anything to my baby; I'll know, so best not to." His shoulders scrunched up in positive mockery as his head tilted with a happy expression. Majira grunted in marginal acknowledgement, while Tsunade paid them little attention. The blond focused back onto her profile, as there were a few matters he had need to discuss with the woman. "Speaking of Tsunade," she did glance up to him at the proper use of her name. "I might need a new place, where I live right now is very dangerous for a baby, and as I'm sure you know, its a little difficult for me to save up." It was momentary, but a sympathetic expression rested upon her face at the words, Naruto knew she could not comprehend his qualms so a flicker of anger flared in his chest, but only for a fraction of a moment before his grin stretched far once more.
"You will indeed, I'll give you a house on the west side of the village, under loan, you should be able to slowly pay it back." On the scrap of paper she held, she wrote down the address and he took it with exuberance.
