Chapter 12: Quake

Raitoningu-chan squirmed, obviously irate at her current position, Naruto giggled for her small action. Though he watched the door in kind wait for his friend as she re-applied for the Intelligence Unit, she had an idea to which he was entirely ignorant upon. Thus, in the meanwhile, he was in watch of her young son as he ran about in the nearby playground not that he particularly minded; the child was laughing as he made faces and jovially jumped about. In the meanwhile his own daughter had began to settle into a calming sleep as she wiggled about slightly in his arms, though despite her easing figure, his eyes were drawn quickly to the visage of a man around the left most corner- his stature recognizable and Naruto could put him down as the very same man whom had aided with the exertion of her birth and the keeping of his seal during the period. Eyes narrowed unto the suspicious sight, an instinctive feeling resonating unto his mind at the vision of the man in how he squirmed as if he hadn't moved properly for awhile.

He had disappeared suddenly as the wood splintered and chaos began, action warranting a firm suspicion of the man deeply integrated into his mind; Majirn had presented him with a mild threat early into his pregnancy after all. However, he cast his eyes away from the man, not lingering upon the thought as of yet, it was speculation, and he would present it to Tsunade- but not at the moment. As it were, he was going to precede in waiting Hina-chan in wait for his mother, then he was to meet Kakashi-sensei in a simple gathering of old friends that had been arranged by the jonin. Naruto smiled to the idea, and eagerly accept whence it had been presented to him a day ago, it was a good suggestion, considering he had been attempting to avoid people in the duration of his pregnancy- though that was in due to his slight paranoia of everyone. Now it had lessened with slight elevation of understanding in Sakura's unintentional threat, he grinned jovially at the thought of seeing his old comrades and their teachers therein.

He then spotted Kamaji as she gave him a small smile, kidnapping her son from the playground and Naruto giggled at his obvious protest- but he was one year old and could hardly function well enough to escape her embrace. The bronze-haired woman did not bother to approach him, in knowing he had further plans which he was a slight late for, merely presenting him with a grand thumb's-up before leaving in the direction to her home. She had been accepted, and the young mother could not be more pleased with the fact- but not only for her, though that was the prominent reason, selfishly, he was relieved in the fact; as she would look further into the attack then perhaps the Intelligence Unit had bothered to do so far.

The loud laughter booming ahead of him made him grin as he saw his comrades and jonin gathered in a small open restaurant, obviously reserved for the group as no one else was there. That grin turned quickly, however, dropping fast into a disturbed frown; he knew the establishment, not well, but enough to comprehend that they avidly destested his presence anywhere nearby their walls. Even walking past often earned him a fierce scowl or several derogatory words cast his direction in indignation. Carefully, and suddenly disturbed, he pulled his baby closer to his chest the arm not cradling her covering her body, even as he continued to approach his friends. He would not hesitate in his long-awaited reunion because of their hate, he and his daughter would be safe enough while surrounded by several teams, they would do nothing but glare at his presence; therein he simply had to make certain he was not one of the last to leave. As he approached and their laughter filled the air, Raironingu woke, though unlike most babies she did not cry, her periwinkle iris making a full appearance wide -even though they were more narrowed in the shaping of her father.- They stared up at him, then she began to coo, in the way only an infant could manage, a smile on her small face, and Naruto grinned once more adoring eyes resting on her happy figure swaddled in a yellow blanket and cuddled to his chest.

"Yo Naruto! Brought the little one eh?" Kiba was the first to notice with Akamaru's bark, a smirk on his features; the dog man's version of a smile -at least for the most part. Everyone looked up at him though, as he scratched at his neck in old habit, nervous already at the abundance of happy eyes cast his way- unused to the sight. Although it bolstered his spirit to see, it was a greater comfort of which he was, again, unaccustomed too.

"Hehe, yup!" Ino grinned wide, he saw it easy as she made some sort of noise deep from her throat, and purposefully glanced at the bundle in his arms, though she gained some amused glances from the teachers surrounding. Chuckles however came from her agemates, and she flushed finding an sudden interest in her food. Naruto sat himself across from Sakura- who gave him a tentative smile, while Kakashi- beside her, stared into the depths of his book, only a brief flicker of his eye showing that he acknowledged the blond's presence at all. Hinata stuttered from the near table, though Naruto took notice of the fact that her commonplace blush was gone- and without it, she appeared unnervingly translucent. Still, she gave her normal shy smile and twirled her fingers around each other as she always had, she too looked to the yellow mess of blankets he cradled.

"Ano- Naruto-kun, congratulations..." Her words were hushed and near whispered, not aided by her painfully soft voice. Nonetheless, in a want to make her less timid afore him he made sure to give her a more pacified smile; in the hope of easing her nerves, figuring that she was nervous of seeing him again and meeting his baby on the same day. It had been some time since he had seen her, and she had developed into a beautiful woman, he was certain that her demure manner must have improved, over the years.

"Thanks Hinata-chan!" Something sad reached into eyes before she looked away from him, and Naruto found himself frowning in slight. He was distracted then by Shikamaru as he forcefully grunted near, a strange thing for the lazed chunin. Naturally, he found the man, whom stared at him with a purposefully intense gaze, it made the blond's hackles raise to see.

"Yo, Naruto, have you seen Jiraiya-sama yet? Seems he returned last night." Naruto felt himself twitch, and then he scrambled up, almost falling down onto the floor as his feet failed him, but regained himself quickly as strong arms suddenly straightened his posture, emerald eyes watching him in deep concern. In glace so did his teacher's, though he did not move from his seat as he only stared with obvious curiosity.

Naruto hadn't the mind to make an excuse, as he left, running out of the restaurant, and towards the Hokage mansion, only cautious of ired villagers as he sped past. The guards standing by were disturbed enough at his speed that they made no attempt to stop him. Naruto knew that even if they were of calm mind they would have done nothing to stop a clearly fretful mother holding an infant- it would simply be too dangerous. His steps seemed to echo ever louder then they had in the past, as if the stomping sounds of a great demon filling the air, the sweat upon his forehead a great torrent down his face, his breaths greatly stuttering out of his chest as it was brutally crushed by the pressure of his mounting panic. His need to confront Tsunade burning under his skin, he had to confirm his friend's words.

However, before he could come close, the familiar; 'click, click, click' sound squirmed into his ears, and then he halted abruptly for it. Raitoningu contently laying in her sling, not caring for her mother's sudden burst of panic, only staring about as best she could. Yet, the blond had eyes only for the corner where his mentor had turned the corner, he cared at the sight, his alpha in full view. Then as he was spotted, he saw the oh-so-brightened grin crest the man's face his eyes closed as he saw Naruto standing opposite. But Naruto remained silent as he got the sanin's full attention, his cerulean iris still upon the man.

"Ah I wasn't expecting to see you so soon, I'm back pretty early but-" Then the tall man entirely stilled himself- his own black eyes fixated on the bundle of blankets in his bonded's arms. The omega saw the quite obvious swallow he made, however, and his consequential trembling as he remained frozen. Naruto broke free first and managed to draw a breath, licking his lips with uncertainty, shifting his daughter slightly for his own comfort, and finding an easier place to stare then the shocked face ahead of him. "Naruto... Is that-"

What regained his fast attention was the shaken gasp, and the choked sound that came with the words. But it made him tremble to witness the cascade of tears flowing fast down Jiraiya's face in streams of water too large, too heavy for anyone to wipe away. Jiraiya was not stock still either, his entire body had begun to quake, his legs appeared barely able to hold his tall stature, his hands twitched violently- so did his chest not rise fully. Concern swept fast over him instead of grating nerves, and though a slight anxious, he followed instant and walked forward. Slow were his steps, and he was forcing himself to breathe in large breaths, but his eyes -by pure force of will- remained on the sanin as he moved. He was not a timid omega scared of confrontation, not even with such a monumental revelation casting over him as a great stone wall of intimidation.

His bound did not move towards him, but neither did he step away, and Naruto took the positive sign for what it was, a simper slowly casting over his lips. Easing his mind ever so slightly. Then they were afore each other, space invaded, though it was with wide eyes -of which Naruto knew had yet to blink- that Jiraiya stared at the bundle of tan skin, blue eyes, and platinum hair. Naruto watched with a tentative gaze as Raitoningu stared up at the face of her father, and he at her: And then, in perfect sync, Raitoningu smiled wide with a big laugh escaping her, right as Jiraiya's entire visage melted into pure adoration, before a large finger brushed against their daughter's chubbed cheek. The man then chuckled very soft, no one else in the hallway would have heard its breathless sound, but his tears did not stop, just as his stare did not leave the giggling baby in his vision; she was obviously happy with the attention as she let out a small squeaking sound with her cooing.

Naruto could not imagine his face had ever hurt so much- his grin felt as if it had broken his jaw.
