Synthia woke up to no alarm and looked at her clock. She jumped out of bed stunned! Oh no, oh no. Oh no! I'm gonna be late! She ran around her room collecting her clothing and her bags. She threw them in a pile onto her bed and peeped out her room yelled out to her dad:

Synthia: DAD! *she went back into her room* I'm going to be late!

She hurried and put her clothes while brushing her teeth. She ran into the bathroom and washed out her mouth. She barged into her dad's room and shook him. He groaned and looked at her slowly getting up.

Synthia: Dad! We are BOTH going to be LATE! Get up and ready!

She ran back out and into the kitchen slipping on her socks and grabbed a bagel. Her dad looked at the time jumped out of bed and put on his pants and his work shirt. Like Synthia he grabbed a bagel and his bag sitting down quickly to put on his work shoes and socks. Synthia ran back into her room with the bagel hanging out of her mouth, plopped down, and started to put on her shoes. She looks in the mirror for one last glance at her uniform to make sure her tie, skirt, and shirt are all fine and right. She swung her bag onto her back and ran out taking another bite of her bagel.

Dad: Do you want me to drive you?

Synthia: No, it's fine! Just worry about getting to work on time.

Dad looked at his watch and jumped off the sofa: Yikes!! Okay well have a good day honey!

Synthia waved as she rushed out the door: You too!

She started running to school and as she turned the corner, she took out some of her pins and clips to put her front loose hair under her loose back hair to keep it out of her face. As she ran, she took a "short cut" through a forest like park. She followed the floor path to the opposite side. She was breathing heavily and went into her bag to get some of her water as she was walking. She bumps into someone spilling her water on them and her books onto the floor. She bent down quickly picking up her books.

Synthia: I'm so sorry! *she stood up and looked at the other person*

To her surprise it was the boy from the other day! She looked at him curious then put her books in her bag.

Synthia: I'm sorry I should have been watching where I was going!

Liam: It's alright. I should have been watching too! *he smiled and took off his wet jacket*

Synthia pushes back the loose hair: I'm sorry bout that...

Liam chuckled: It's alright.

They start to walk to school together while Synthia zips up her bag. She goes to drink from the bottle she had but realized it was now empty. She sighed and kept walking putting it in her bag as well. She slowly tries to get her breath back while they walk. Liam noticed that and started rustling through his bag.

Liam: I have a water bottle in here somewhere. You can have some!

He pulls it out and extends his arm to her smiling. She hesitates before grabbing the bottle.

Synthia: N-no! I'm fine!

Liam: You were running right? Just have some it's no problem!

Synthia looked at him then the bottle slowly grabbing it.

Synthia: Th-thank you.

Liam smiled as she drank some of the water. She thought about how nice her was being and glanced over at him closing his bag and checking his phone.

Liam: Oh! We are gonna be late! But it's alright, we will be fine!

Synthia just looks at him. How is he so happy?? We are going to be late, but he has no problem with it? ....guess we'll just be late... The walked up to the school right when the bell rings. They walk to class. To Synthia's surprise they had the same class.

Teacher: Why are you guys late!

Liam: We kinda lost our way.

Teacher: Is that right? *she looks at Synthia*

Synthia: Y-yeah

Teacher: Well then...take your seats.

They both went and sat down. She took her seat in the back and he took his seat in the front left window side. The class seemed to go by slowly, and the day seemed to drag. Finally, lunch time came, and they walked together in silence. To try to end the silence they both thought of saying something...

Both: Soo-

They stopped and looked at each other then laughed.

Liam: Sorry you can go!

Synthia: No no you!

Liam: No, I insist.

Synthia: Oh I...well I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later....? Like out of school?

Liam looked at her surprised, both of them stopping just outside the cafeteria.

Synthia: What??

Liam: I was thinking the same thing!

Synthia: What? Seriously??

Liam: Yeah!

Synthia: Well when?

Liam: You tell me!

Synthia: Can I get your number and text you later?

Laim: Sure!

They exchanged numbers and went to lunch trying to figure out where to meet up.

Liam: Oh! I know this one cool place down by a lake near by!

Synthia: A lake?? *her eyes sparkled*

Liam: Wait. Don't tell me you've never been?!

Synthia: *looked at him confused* ....well no I haven't...wait m I supposed to know about it?!

Liam: *chuckles* Well it's only the biggest attraction in our city!!

Synthia: Oh I didn't know that...

Liam: We are definitely going there then! *he takes her phone going to her calendar*

Synthia: *peeks over his arm*

Liam sets the date: Here! *moves quickly hitting her with his shoulder*

Synthia flinches

Synthia holds her hand to her face covering her nose and mouth. Liam looks at her feeling really sorry. She moves her hand going to say its okay but instead puts her hand back quickly seeing blood! She runs to the bathroom.

Liam: W-wait! I'm sorry!

Everyone looks at her running to the bathroom then at him. Some were whispering and some were giving him a dirty look. He didn't know what to do so he ran over to the girl bathroom and knocks.

Liam: A-are you alright in there? *asks shakily* I'm sorry.

He tries to ignore the people staring at him but instead walks away outside. Synthia turn on the water after wiping off her hands she felt like she couldn't talk. But even if she could she couldn't figure out how to comprehend what to say! She washes her hands throwing away the paper towel and walks out slowly. People start looking at her, so she looks down rushing over to the nurse's office. The bleeding finally stopped, and she had a band-aid on her nose, she had tissues in her hand to use when her nose starts to drip again. She pulls out her phone and texts Liam.

Synthia text: It's alright. I'm fine now! Sorry I didn't say anything and I ran out on you...

She waited a while still no response. About 5 to 10 minutes later the nurses call her dad and he comes to pick her up.

Dad: Are you alright?!

Synthia nodded

Dad: What happened?? Who did this! I'll beat them up for you!

Synthia: No dad it was an accide-

She stopped talking feeling pain. The nurse walked over with a slip of paper and a tiny notepad.

Nurse: She won't be able to talk, or shouldn't be talking for the next hour or two. Here is a notepad she can use and her nurses pass.

She hands Synthia's dad the slip of paper and the pad. He nodded understanding and took Synthia to the car. Synthia looked down at her phone seeing Liam read the message but decided not to answer. She kept her head down holding onto her phone. Her nose drips a bit on her phone. She freaks out quickly wipping it up and lifting her head putting the tissue to her nose.

Dad sighs: So it was a accident you said?

Synthia nods

Dad: okay then..... *looks at her phone* So..whos that?

Synthia looks at him following his look. She realizes he's looking at her phone. She pulls it away turning it off.

Synthia: I-it's a frie- *pain strikes again*

Dad: No talking remember!! * he puts on his seat belt sighing handing her the note book* A new friend?

Synthia wrote: Yeah..... He's nice, and different. His name is Liam, and we made plans to meet up after school today to go to the lake...

Dad took the notebook readin it andsmirking: Oh?

Synthia looked at him with a 'really?!'  look

Dad: Whats that face for! I'm just saying....he may be your type!

Synthia blushes groaning and slouching in her chair. Dad starts to back out his car and hands back the notebook. Synthia hugs it putting her knees up leaning onto the dashboard.

Dad: Soooo? Are you going to meet up with him?

Synthia nods

Dad: What are you guys going to do while your there?

Synthia shrugs looking out the window

Dad: *cough* goonadate *cough*

(translation: go on a date >~< :) )

Synthia's head swung towards him and stared hitting him on the arm slightly. He looked at her giving her the 'What?!' face. She knew he was totally into the idea of her dating and having fun so, she looked back out the window rolling her eyes.

Dad: All I'm saying is that you should get out more and have fun! Inste- *sees Synthia writing something*

Synthia hands him the book. It reads: I do with you!! I don't even know if he will show up anyways...

Dad sighed: Well...it's better to go and see if he does instead of....staying home with me and missing the perfect chance to see him again.......aaannnddd even go on a second date??

Synthia hit his arm again but harder this time, thn quickly writes down: It's NOT a date!! >_<

Dad chuckled: Well when we get home try to text him again and see if he answers. *he stops at a red light and looks at her* Okay?

She nodded and wrote: I like to hang out with you btw :)

 Her dad smiled and kept driving til they got home.
