Four years old

A young boy ran around the house. His mother running behind him.

Mother: Khana kha le shaitan!...hey bhagwan ye ladka.

Six years old

A young boy was clutching the arms of his Chachu- Pawan as his father did his mother's last rites. He cried for his mother to wake up but she wouldn't. His heart broke as he couldn't stand it anymore and ran away.

He was in trance and kept running. He came back to reality when he heard a lot of sirens. A car was getting pulled out of the lake. Police, ambulance, people- there was a lot of crowd but amidst all that he noticed a small girl sobbing. She was sitting on a milestone near the road and shivering. Veer headed towards her and made her wear the jacket he was wearing. The girl looked up.

V: Tum ro kyu rahi ho?

Girl: Mere mummy papa they us car me. Achanak pata nahi kya hua, mummy ne mujhe bahar fenk diya aur car pani me chali gayi....(sobs) vo thik to honge na.

Veer looked to see two bodies getting pulled out and covered in white till faces. He knew they didn't make it. He understood the pain of this girl who lost both her people that day. He understood very well.

V: Tum brave raho okay? Mai apne papa ko bula kr lata hoon...

Veer rushed to get his father to the girl who probably had nowhere to go but when he finally came; he couldn't find her.

Eight years old

Veer finally snapped. He punched his bully right in the face. He had recently started to develop his cheel powers and that made it harder for him to control all his pent up anger.

V: Bolega aur koi kuch meri maa ke baare me? Bolna hai?

Everyone in the class looked down.

Ten years old

Veer met Chandrakala- his new mom and unke saath aya muft ka dahej. His brother- Jai. They shook hands. He didn't really like them but saw his father smile genuinely. He breathed and calmed himself. They must be nice. Akhir hai to insaan hi..

For you, Dad. He thought as he took the lean and weak boy to meet his cousins.

Twenty six years old

Last sixteen years had been a roller coaster ride for Veer. When Jai turned 18 and found out he was Nag, he become smug yet jealous of Veer. Balwant disliked snakes and never knew his wife's ex was a snake but he half-heartedly accepted the nag as his step son. This made Chandrakala overly protective of her biological son and she tried to make him outshine at every cost.
As time flew by, Veer's relations with his dad became more and more sour. They were civil but they also would not last in the same room without arguing. He rebelled out and his bad boy image spread. Balwant got irked by it a lot. The only people Veer spoke nicely to were his cousins- Ponky and Daksh. They both had seen a lot like him too- their parents died, they got bullied but unlike Veer who rebelled out and later resorted to drinking; they both tried to be cheerful and act like party animals to drown their sorrows.
