Kabir looked at his nephew, having eyes similar to his own.
He smiled at the boy and hugged the baby seeking for comfort because he knew that a chaos was coming ahead.
He kissed the forehead of the boy and said, "Be strong like your mother is."
And Vaish took the baby looking at him with severe mistrust and infuriation.
And Kabir felt lonely just like the day his mother left him.
He felt lonely in a room full of his friend and his family.
His only family from childhood.
His twin sister who was elder than him by five minutes.
He noticed that Rehan's mother and others left the room saying something but he didn't heard because his eyes were fixed on his sweetie pie who was now giving him a look full of anger and betrayal.
Why mom?
Why?
Why do I have to go through all of this?
Kabir thought and prepared himself for the dreaded conversation and accusations that were going to come in his direction.
***
Sanaa was tired but happy after she gave birth to their first child. Pakhi was her OBG. Much to everyone's surprise, the first borne was a girl but Rehan just smiled proudly as he was with her listening to her not so friendly warning and threats from past few hours.
Rehan held his Princess in his arms for the first time and she saw tears in his eyes, similar to hers.
Their Princess.
One for which they were praying and waiting from past nine months.
She wanted to hold her but didn't have strength but she knew their princess was in the safest hands, Rehan's arms. Rehan looked at his princess and then at his Angel who looked tired but still beautiful.
He took the baby near her and kissed his Angel's forehead and noticed her touching her baby's face so gently.
"Thanks Angel. She is perfect just like you."
"Just like us." She said even in her tired state and Rehan's heart beated wildly just like the first time he saw her.
She always makes him feel perfect, good about himself.
"She looks like her father." Pakhi said as she waited for second contractions to start.
"Then the next one better look like me." Sanaa said with a tired smile and felt other set of contractions and ten minutes later gave birth to a baby boy.
"Congratulations baby. You have a baby boy. Perfect family, in first try." Pakhi said as the nurse cleaned the baby and Rehan also smiled as he has handed his Princess to his mother who was with her and he was standing by his Angel's side once again.
The nurse handed the boy to Pakhi who was about to hand him to Rehan but her smiled disappeared as she noticed baby's eyes clearly now. She thought that she saw it wrong or her glasses need a change once again when she delivered him.
But now even after cleaning, blue colour stayed.
How come Sanaa's baby has same eye colour as Kabir and his mom's?
Rehan and Sanaa who was about to go into sleep from tiredness looked at her confused look.
"Pakhi, is everything alright with our boy?" Rehan asked and Sanaa's eyes widened.
"Pakhi what's wrong? Everything was fine in scans and it's not an early labour." Sanaa said and Pakhi realised her mistake. Sanaa just gave birth and she was tired.
"Everything is absolutely alright babe. It's just that I can't figure out who does this one looked like." Pakhi lied and the coupled relaxed.
The boy was his mother's replica except for his ocean blue eyes.
"Here hold him." She gave the baby who thankfully decided to close his eyes for few seconds, to Rehan who felt emotional once again as he held his champ.
His new buddy.
The one with whom he can do prank and will teach everything, from walking on his feet to talking to girls and making girlfriends.
Just like he did with Arhan.
He held his champ closer and took her near his Angel who kissed her baby boy's forehead tiredly.
Her wish got fulfilled. She got a mama's boy.
"Rest Angel. I will take care of our little ones." Rehan said and kissed her forehead and she did that.
And the moment Sanaa closed her eyes to rest, his champ opened his and he was shocked to see a pair of ocean blue eyes.
"Rehan." Pakhi whispered slowly and he came out of his shock.
As the nurses took Sanaa out, Rehan kept on standing rooted to his place and wondering, how in the name of God, did their baby boy got same eyes as Kabir's?
What were the odds that it was just a random trait that appeared?
And the answer to this question, along with all the other doubts that he has been having since he heard that they were having twins, was very obvious.
His champ did not have Kabir's ocean blue eyes.
He has his grandmother's eyes.
Kabir and Sanaa's mother.
Which meant that Sanaa and Kabir were twins.
Which also meant that his Angel was going to go through hell once again because of Kabir as her entire life was based on a lie.

The moment a mother takes her baby in her hand is supposed to be the best moment of her life.
And it certainly was true when she held her kids in her hand for the first time but then her baby boy opened his eyes and everything shattered.
She looked into his eyes and then looked at Rehan's face who just rubbing his arm around her.
"He is beautiful, isn't he?" Rehan said and Sanaa sat stilled.
"He looks like you." Rehan encouraged and Sanaa tried to look for similarities but all she could see were ocean blue eyes.
Her mind has stopped working.
"He is our son Sanaa." Rehan finally said intentionally using her name to get her attention.
"And he deserves a smiling mother. Don't waste the most precious moment of your life in thinking about something which could be dealt later. You will regret it." He added and Sanaa realised her mistake and hugger her boy tightly.
"I'm sorry baby. Mama is so sorry. I'm sorry" She whispered and kissed her baby boy finally realising that nothing else mattered.
Her kids did.
"I'm sorry Rehan." She finally said, and he just shook his head.
"Mr. Siddiqui doesn't like Mrs. Siddiqui to say these words. But Mrs. Siddiqui keeps on forgetting it. So, let's remind your mom again kids, shall we?" Rehan said looking at their kids.
Their princess in his arms and their champ in hers. Sanaa smiled remembering the words yet looked at them expectantly.
My life. My wife. My choice.
"Our life. Our Family. Our Choice." Rehan said modifying the usual words and her smile widened as they went for a family hug.
She has two beautiful kids, a loving husband, awesome friends and family.
Other things will come and go.
They will stay.
Rehan and their kids.
Nothing else mattered.

There were only Sanaa, Kabir and Rehan left in the room right now. Others have left taking away the babies to give them space to talk but Sanaa didn't knew what was even left to be said.
She saw her son's ocean blue eyes and blocked out every conclusion that she could draw from it. Well, there wasn't much to conclude.
Kabir told her in childhood that Shah family males have blue eyes.
But his mother was special one.
His mother...
His mother...
He said his mother not theirs...
He never said their mother...
She met Kabir when they were ten. Did he know then that they were...
They are...
She can't even bring herself to say that.
Now everything was making sense.
She can't even bring herself to look at him without feeling sick.
He doesn't need to say anything to confirm her doubt. The way he went to see her little boy and the way he reacted after, told the story of his guilt.
Just how long was he playing this game with her? How long was he planning to hide the most important detail of her life from her?
She has seen him playing mind games with others. She has stopped him from doing that. But never in her wildest dreams had she thought that he could do that with her!
His sweetie pie.
Now she even doubted why he gave that name? Was it really because of the reasons he said or did he plan to gain her attention in order to win her trust?
Was their first meeting a part of some of his plan?
Were all their moments a part of his some sick plan?
Did he teach her to be strong so he could break her when the time comes?
Her head was now throbbing with pain and each and every memory of theirs started coming in front of her like a movie.
And her heart was beating wildly with possible meaning of his words which he used to say to her.
Just to what extent was his sick game going to continue?
What if her baby didn't have blue eyes and she can't realise the truth?
How long he was planning to hide it?
Just what was he thinking? And what possible explanation could justify his act?
Was he planning to use this fact to his benefit some day?
Was he planning to use her for his benefit one day?
Then her eyes widened remembering how he told her that Mr. Malik threatened him regarding the very same fact.
Did he run away because he was indeed planning to use her and was scared that Mr. Malik will expose him?
No.
Stop thinking Sanaa. Just ask him. Her inner voice said.
But she didn't know what to ask and where to begin and what he could possibly say to clear her doubts.
So she just asked a single question that sealed their fate.
"Did you know the truth when we met for the first time?" She asked and saw a sharp intake of breath and her entire world stopped at that.
But still she needed words to make her see the truth. Because even now a stupid, really stupid part of her believed that he didn't know the truth and realised it only after he saw her baby boy.
Bir can't hide something so important from his sweetie pie, right?
So she waited, waited for his answer.
"I came to Mr. Malik's mansion after knowing the truth." Kabir said and tried to say something but Sanaa stopped him.
She didn't need any explanation or justification.
And he was really a fool to think that he could even justify that with words.
And what value do his words have? How could they be trusted? She didn't trust this man who lied to her from the moment he met her.
She gave him one chance when he left earlier because she thought he was hiding the truth about his life from her and he has a right to do so.
But now she knew that he was hiding the truth about her existence from her.
He doesn't deserve any chance.
"Rehan, please tell this man to leave and never show his face to me and my kids again."
Sanaa said the words that broke Kabir and stunned Rehan.
"Sweetie pie just listen to me..." Kabir tried to say.
"Rehan! Why are you just standing quietly? You just told me that our life, our family and our choice? Then why does my choice doesn't matter to you? Please listen to me and ask him to go away and if you can't ask him to do that then let me walk out because I do not want to see his face."
Sanaa said emotionlessly as she tried to get up from her place and Rehan immediately stopped her because she was weak.
He wanted his Angel to listen to Kabir's explanation. He truly did but right now she was not ready to listen to him. She gave birth few hours ago and he can't afford to stress her.
Rehan looked at Kabir, silently requesting him to go.
"I'm going away. You don't need to get up." Kabir said in a broken voice. As he approached the door, he turned to her and said the last words,
"Today I feel what you felt five years ago, when I disappeared without any words. We are now equal, Sanaa."
Kabir said her name for the first time in his life and left the room.
