One Month Later:

Kabir felt like pulling his hair in frustration. Nothing, absolutely nothing was going as per his plan. He felt like a complete failure because everything that he was planning from so long was scattering into pieces.

His plan for Mr. Malik was a mess.

More than six months since he had come out of his coma and learnt about Mr. Malik's betrayal and he wasn't able to do anything.

Malik Enterprises' worth has suddenly increased like hell.

He didn't have any knowledge about business but he guessed it was because of the tie up between Malik Enterprises and SGI, Rehan's company.

The reason because of which Mr. Malik was hell bent on getting one of his daughters married to Rehan. Well Sofia was his first choice but she left and then his sweetie pie came into picture.

In a way he blamed himself because his accident was the reason which forced his sweetie pie to consider that arrangement. She said she felt the connection but he knew that she wouldn't have married someone just because of one connection.

Could one connection be that strong? But then shook his head at the hypocrisy of his thoughts. He knew some connections are just that strong.

Also, he thought that Sofia's elopement was somewhat his fault. He wished he could scold her but he didn't like talking to her. He cared for her, she was his sister but that didn't mean he liked her. She was like her father and being with Samar might have changed her but he still didn't talk to her. He just checked upon her from afar, never coming in front of her.

He wanted Sofia to be with Samar. But that girl has to make it dramatic and elope on the day of her wedding which put his sweetie pie in loop. And in a way he felt it was his fault once again because he was the one who encouraged Samar to pursue her.

Everything us his fault.

He felt like he was the cause of the sudden dramatic change in his sweetie pie's life but when he saw that she was genuinely happy with Rehan then he backed off otherwise he would have made her divorce him. He could support his sister all her life but she was happy and now she was expecting and angry with him and had every right to do so.

He wished sometimes things could be that simple but they really weren't. He wanted to talk to his sweetie pie clearly but he can't.

All in time.

He chanted and then shook his head to focus on the problem in hand, Malik Enterprises' destruction but it looked rock solid now.

Then there was his other plan, regarding his Sunshine and how he has to stop it in between. He can't put her in any stressful situation now.

He can't believe how drastically things have changed in between them. How much distant had they became after she signed those papers.

Her words about abortion and action that day really hurt him.

More so because he was already hurt because of that confrontation with his sweetie pie.

He expected that from his sweetie pie because he did that purposefully. He also knew that she was trying to rile him up to speak the truth but that didn't mean it hurt any less.

His Sunshine, in the other hand, well what she did was entirely unexpected reaction from her side. He knew that she is different, kind, innocent and simple.

But she hit him where it hurts the most.

"Because I was scared that you will ask me to abort this child and I'm mad enough to think about it, if you say so."

Her running away from him and her words made him think that he was also like Mr. Malik as Mr. Malik suggested abortion when he found about his mother's pregnancy and might have even forced her to do so but it was very late.

To think that his Sunshine thought that he would suggest something like that disgusted him and made him doubt himself.

Also, then words his sweetie pie said on the same day.

Both the important women in his life doubted him.

Both of them suggested that he was behaving like his so called father.

But he was not Mr. Malik's son. He was only his mother's son.

But their words made him doubt himself.

And Kabir Shah never doubts himself but that day he did and thought was he really like Mr. Malik?

No!

He could never be.

That was not right.

That was a disastrous thought.

Those papers became important.

Because what if in her next anxiety attack she leaves without any trace to find her. She was running away from him, always.

What if tomorrow something happens and she runs away again? Because one day his plan will come out and he can't even imagine what she will do then.

He has to make sure that running away stops now. So he made her sign those papers for both of them.

He thought that they had made some progress in these four months but her words made him think that where did he go wrong?

Had he been honest with her from the beginning then would the situation be any different? It was too late to think now, even more late to regret. It was all said and done.

Kabir Shah doesn't live in regrets.

So from last one month they were living like strangers, in the same room. They went to hospital separately, her going in her own car, him following her.

They had a fixed routine and apart from few words like, breakfast is ready, dinner is getting cold or dishwasher is not working he didn't heard anything from her.

She was taking care of herself and he was taking care of that. She was taking her medicines on time and he was with her every time she vomited, holding her hairs. Both of them were reading books about pregnancy but never discussed anything about it.

At hospital they behaved liked professional and he made sure that she wasn't stressed, from afar and was eating her lunch and was always hydrated but never came in front of her.

No one knew about their pregnancy and he knew she wanted to keep it that way to escape from questions. If only she didn't escape and questioned him from beginning then it would have been different.

Today they were going to a clinic for her first scan and he made sure that the OBG was a good one.

He entered the house and saw her sitting on sofa, reading her book.

She looked at him and ... just looked.

She didn't smile or asked any question. She just patiently waited for him and sat beside him while he drove and he knew that it was all started after he made her sign those papers.

The day he ended Bir Zara.

"Dr. Zara, Dr. Kabir pleasure meeting you." Dr. Aliyah, her OBG greeted them and they smiled politely.

"How are you feeling Zara?" She asked.

"Better. A little bit of morning sickness but nothing besides that." Zara said and Aliyah nodded.

"You are ten weeks pregnant. We should do scan the check baby's progress." Dr. Aliyah said and Zara nodded.

Kabir thought to give them some privacy when Dr. Aliyah said, "You are the father, and you could stay with your wife."

And both of them stilled, not knowing how to react. Zara froze on the spot and didn't know how to correct Dr. Aliyah. She was in her late fifties and assumed that both of them were married. And Zara didn't want her to think anything bad after knowing they were unmarried and having baby.

But that would be the question that you would be facing at each and every step of society. Her inner voice said and her heart pained thinking about it and her eyes watered.

No, she has to stay strong for their baby.

And right now the safety of their baby is her only priority, even before herself. So she just nodded and noticed Kabir's stiff reaction at her agreement.

Please Bir, if you ever respected me a bit, please play along. She prayed and her prayers were answered when he stiffly nodded going along with her charade.

"Come Zara. It will cold for few minutes but you know the drill, right?" Dr. Aliyah said and Zara nodded with a smile.

Baby time.

And as they saw their baby together for the first time, she can't help but shed few tears, seeing such a tiny creation going inside hers and felt a hand over hers, for the first time in one month.

But she didn't think any of it and focussed on the baby.

Their baby.

Hers and His.

And in that moment she promised that no matter how much things go wrong, no matter what all she has to listen from the society; she will make sure that her baby gets her complete love and attention.

She will protect this tiny human with all her power and will make sure that he or she never has to go through what she did.

She will love her baby the most and knew that unlike her stupid love for Kabir; this one will never betray her.

They talked to the doctor who gave them few instructions and added some supplements and cleared few of their doubts.

As Kabir started driving, Zara spoke, "Thanks for going along with my lie inside. I don't want Dr. Aliyah to think anything bad about our baby. Just give me nine months and you won't have to play along. I will prepare myself by then."

Zara said, not looking at him just staring ahead and Kabir stiffly nodded. Kabir was still lost, thinking about the time he saw their child for the first time.

A tiny little human which they created together.

He could still hear baby's heartbeat and felt his own heart beating wildly with pure joy and happiness after so long.

No moment in his life could give him this much happiness and none would even come closer. Well may be when he holds her or him for the first time.

But for now he was happy and content.

And other things don't matter.

He will make sure that his baby doesn't have to go through any struggle like him.

His child will never have to suffer like him.

He would be present in his child's life, for each and every turning point unlike Mr. Malik.

He will make the world better for their child.

It was time to solve all the mess in his life.

And first one was the one for which he has waited since his childhood.

His revenge on Mr. Malik; it was time to end it for once and all with Mr. Malik.

Time to make amends with his sweetie pie.

And most importantly, time to clear everything to His reine.

I promise you baby, that before you are born; I will solve each and everything. You will have a loving family with both mother and father. You will have no burdens of past unlike your parents. I will make world a better place for you.

Kabir vowed.

Just wait a little longer Sunshine, just wait. He prayed even though he knew that he was already late.

As for Zara, her focus is completely on her baby and that's what we need for now.

First things first though, a meeting between two important characters which is necessary and also, asked by so many of you, is coming ahead in next chapter. Any guesses (;

Also, this saga is coming to an end! With all the mysteries coming out in open very soon. Well, it'll still take some time but we are in the final phase.
