"You are really good at this."

Kabir said when he saw Zara gliding effortlessly.

"Dad taught me this when I was small." She replied with a smile.

He shook his head in understanding and lost his balance but she immediately took his arm and helped him in staying standing steadily.

Her hazel eyes locked with his ocean blue ones for few seconds and she forgot to blink for few seconds.

"Are you alright?" She asked coming out of her thoughts, still holding his arm.

"Never been better." He replied with a smirk and she blushed.

She was about to leave his hand but he shook his head.

"Teach me. I want to improve." He said in a sincere voice.

"You are already good. Just need some practise." She said but they continued to skate with her holding his hand.

"But I want to be the best, perfect." He emphasised.

"And then?" She asked him, paying attention to floor.

"What do you mean by 'and then'?" He asked feeling confused.

"What will you do after being best?" She asked still focussing on her legs as a turn was coming ahead.

"Do we need to do something after being best? It just gives me satisfaction. Don't you like to be perfect?" He questioned her in return.

"But how would I know that I'm the best and when will these races to perfection will end? I should try to be better version of myself everyday rather than thinking of being best. Everyone has their own definition of perfection. I can't fit in all of them, right? I get satisfaction when I know that I'm doing better today than what I did yesterday."

She explained and guided them towards the turning point.

What she didn't know that she wasn't just helping him to turn around but also to turn and see a whole lot of possibilities that existed.

Ones which he never bothered to look, hiding behind the mask of perfection he forgot what it felt like to be satisfied with what he already has.

Finally she looked at him and noticed that he was looking at her intently as if trying to solve some equation.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. Those are just my thoughts." She added feeling that he didn't like what she said.

"I know you didn't." He said looking ahead and freed his hand from hers and circled around her, surprising her.

Was this the same man who was struggling to stand just a few minutes ago?

"I was feeling rusty because it's been a long time. Thanks for bringing me back to right track Sunshine."

Kabir said and once again Zara felt as if he meant something else.

Shut up Zara! Stop over thinking. What else he could mean? Her inner voice said and she agreed with it for once.

What else could he have meant?

They were now in food court, eating all the fast food that they advised their patients to stay away from.

It was late and Zara knew that he would be hungry, so she suggested that and he agreed.

"Thanks Sunshine. You must be hungry after all the skating." He said while munching his burger and Zara wanted to do nothing but click a picture or stay in this moment forever.

He looked so innocent while sitting there and eating his burger with some sauce covering his mouth. He wasn't looking the perfect Dr. Kabir Shah but a young college student.

And yet she felt the same about him. See, the perks of falling for someone! They could come out of bed and all you would notice will be the perfectly tangled morning hair and not morning breath!

"Bir! You have sauce on your cheek." Zara said coming out of her thoughts.

"Where?" He asked. She pointed him but he couldn't find it.

"Wait. Click my picture and show me. My hands are dirty so can't use my phone." He offered and Zara nodded.

She took out her phone and clicked his picture and showed him. He wiped it with tissue. This time properly.

It was a win-win for Zara. Now she had the perfect picture, like she wanted.

Fate wasn't always bad to her.

The following two weeks they were busy with works but still met each other on hospital terrace at evenings. It was an unspoken agreement between them. Zara has to admit that she was enjoying it more than she should. It's been more than one month since he joined the hospital.

Her frontal cortex was now completely gone. Her thinking capacity, her intelligence and judgement everything became clouded near him. It was her first time falling for someone and she wanted to enjoy it till the heart break part comes.

Everything was going perfect except for one thing. Arun from radiology was trying to become over friendly. She has politely declined his advances but she felt that he was not getting her point. She hasn't told anyone but Ritu about this. Ritu advised her to complain it to the chief but Zara asked, on what grounds? He didn't do anything inappropriate.

She just didn't get good vibes from him. Girls have this sixth sense and unfortunately their sixth sense wasn't sufficient for filing any complain. So Zara decided to directly tell him that she wasn't comfortable with him.

"I'm not comfortable Arun, with all these coffees and flowers on my desk. So, please don't do this from tomorrow." Zara finally said in empty hallway, but knew that people were around.

"But Zara what's the problem with them?" Arun asked feeling insulted.

"The problem is that I'm not comfortable." Zara explained, ignoring that he was calling her Zara and not Dr. Zara like he should.

"You are such a big hypocrite, like other girls! You laugh when that blue eyed doctor flirts with you but you have problem with me giving you flowers?" Arun spited and Zara's eyes widened at the disrespect in his tone.

"Arun, firstly, Dr. Kabir doesn't flirt with me. Secondly, even if I smile at him then it's completely my choice. I have the right to choose on whose jokes I want to laugh. So, I'm politely asking you to stay away from me." Zara said in a strong voice even though she was feeling scared inside. She didn't like his tone or the look that he was giving her.

Arun noticed some people walking in the hallway and realised he can't say anything now.

"I have to go now Zara but this conversation is not over yet." He said giving her a threatening look.

"It's Dr. Zara for you and the conversation is over. Don't come around." Zara replied and hurriedly walked away.

She was feeling scared. She has to admit. The look he gave in the end was not so friendly and she didn't like it but knew that she can't say anything to him.

She left the hospital early that evening, skipping the terrace session with Bir. She was tired so she just drove towards her home.

What she didn't notice was, someone following her.

She reached her apartment and was about to open it when she realised a presence behind her and turned around.

She got frozen seeing Arun standing so close to her. He was outside her apartment! How could he even know where she was?

Her heart started beating wildly. She didn't like to be alone with him. She knew that neighbours weren't at home as they were a working couple.

She realised that there's a security camera and if he tries to do anything wrong then she could shout for and someone could listen, hopefully.

"Arun what are you doing here?" She asked creating the distance but he took a step towards her.

"Why Zara, only blue eyed people get invitations to your home?" He asked now smiling with evilness.

"How dare you say things like that? Just go away from here before I start to shout and create a scene." Zara asked in a high tone.

"Create a scene about what Zara? I'm not touching you, am I?" He said and walked closer to her and Zara now started sweating badly.

"Leave Arun, before I shout." Zara said in a low tone feeling scared like hell inside.

"Shout about what Zara? As I said, I'm standing close to you but not touching you." He said and walked further closer and Zara's back was now touching the wall.

"Help! Someone please help." Zara shouted and tried to push him.

"Wrong move sweetheart. You touched me, I didn't. But now that you did, I have to admit I like it." Arun said holding her hands in his captivity and Zara shouted once again.

"Now don't shout. I'm not forcing you. I just want to talk." He said with gritted teeth and forced her against the wall and Zara got so scared that she lost her voice.

Her tears now started to spill. She can't be weak. She can't let someone threaten her like that. She can't let him come close to her.

She thought and tried to push him once again but it only made him more agitated. She started shouting but he silenced her with his one hand and held both her hands with other.

"Shut up and listen to me carefully. Don't try to fight and prove your weakness in front of me. The more you fight the angrier I would be. So just shut up and listen quietly. I don't want to assault you but you are calling for it. So keep it down. I told you that the conversation is not over earlier today and I'm here to finish what you started." He said and Zara's eyes were now watering fully.

He told her that he won't assault her but she was feeling dirty already. She didn't like him being this close to her. She didn't like the way he was touching her hands. She didn't like it at all.

She closed her eyes and prayed for some help, something anything that will take this man away from her. And her prayers got answered when she felt him getting pulled away from her.

Was it her imagination or reality?

She slid on the floor with tears coming out of her eyes, not understanding how to feel. Never in her life had she felt so scared the way she did when Arun was close to her.

It was all silence till she heard one word.

"Sunshine."

***

This was bad. My heart hurts for Zara. But Arun is a goner now. Not that he doesn't deserve it.

As I said, he is a necessary evil and this was a lesson that I wanted to give to all girls out there. You will see more of this issue in next chapter.

Anyways, how was the ice skating? And Zara's thoughts and Kabir's words.

Next chapter is going to be interesting because.... We going to get a 'glimpse' of Kabir's mind and 'some' explanations (;

So stay tuned and those who haven't voted or commented then go...do it, for this as well as for other chapters (:
