Fifteen days after Kabir's accident, Sanaa came to visit him and Zara thought that the hospital has contacted her. Zara discussed his case with him and Sanaa just listened to it patiently, giving her suggestions in the end but her mind was on Kabir.

Sanaa was standing outside Kabir's room in the private hospital and was still gathering the courage to enter inside. There was only one door separating her and him but she knew that it wasn't just one door.

It was a door to her past and gateway to the future. It has been more than four years since he left her without informing her. She had completed her super speciality one year back and was working as neurosurgeon in SMC and got selected as Leader as they wanted someone young. She thought that she has come back home to attend Sofia's wedding but destiny has something else in store for her.

She was now married to Rehan Siddiqui, the businessman Sofia was going to marry but eloped. Mr. Malik thought that he has blackmailed her using Kabir's name but she knew that she said yes because she wanted to marry Rehan. It was the next day after their marriage and she lied to her husband to check on Kabir.

She would have taken complete charge of him but didn't because she can't check on him daily as she was going to be busy helping her husband about his hospital which was trying to get an affiliation from SMC. Also, if she took complete charge of Kabir then she would have to explain it to Rehan, something she wasn't ready to do yet.

So she took a deep breath before opening the door and entering inside and even though she was aware of what she will see, the site still broke her heart.

Her once charming brother was now covered in tubes. The ocean blue eyes which used to shine with perfect combination of mystery and mischievousness were now looking dull and lifeless.

Memories start flooding back in my mind. Their past, how they met for the first time, how they became friends before anything else, how he made her feel wanted, how he cared for her, how he encouraged her to do things of which she was scared earlier, how he promised to be with her always, no matter what the situation was.

These were their good memories that still made her smile in her darkest time. Everything was perfect till Mr. Malik started playing his games and they lost the precious bond which both of them loved more than their lives. She still didn't know what Mr. Malik exactly said to him but she knew of the consequences.

He signed his inheritance to Mr. Malik.

And Bir left his sweetie pie.

And that made her emotional.

No, she must not think about those things. She must not think about that day, she must not think about past... She needed to be strong not only for herself but also for Bir.

"Hey Bir! Look here your sweetie pie is back! Yes, idiot I'm really here and I'm giving you an ultimatum that if you don't get well soon than without any second thoughts I'll dye your hairs red!"

Yes, he was really obsessed with his hairs and can't tolerate anything against them. That incident with Vaish scared him. This threat always worked in the past and she hoped that it still works!

"You know Bir, I've got many things to share, so you have to get well soon and open your eyes!

You know we had a huge four year gap which we had to cover. A lot of things to be said and done...So, be ready because when you're getting up I'm going to bore you to the hell... It's your punishment for getting injured like this and making me worried so much...

But you are going to recover and we will try our best to catch up with the time we lost. I'm leaving for now, but I'll be coming again soon.

You will be fine and that is your sweetie pie's promise and you know it very well that I always fulfil my promises, no matter what the situation is. So be ready to wake up and rock again like earlier times.

Bye Bir."

Sanaa can't speak more than this. She was speaking to him after four years and she had imagined hundreds of scenarios where they will meet and she will question him but none was as scary as this one.

She knew that she has to be mentally and emotionally strong if she was going to look after him. If she will become an emotional mess than she won't be able to take care of him properly, which is not what she wanted.

So, she quickly got up and started leaving. Before she opened the door she glanced at him once again and said, "Bir, your sweetie pie needs you. Please wake up soon!"

With those final words, she came out of the room and leaned against the door to calm her and come out of her inner emotional turmoil. It was one of the most difficult talks which she has done in her life and she was glad that she did it without shedding tears.

That is what Kabir has taught her, to never cry. He has made her what she was today. She was strong because he made her strong.

She was able to raise voice against her father and cut all her ties with him because of Kabir. He wanted her to be strong, independent and here she was. She owes everything to him.

Bir has taken care of his sweetie pie almost entire his life, now it was her turn.

"Zara please make sure he is fine. I might not be able to visit him daily but I know I can trust you." Sanaa spoke to her properly after she saw Kabir.

"I will make sure that he is well attended." Zara assured Sanaa.

"I trust you for him." Sanaa said and Zara's eyes widened at her words. Sanaa saw the storm in her eyes but didn't comment on it.

"I need to go now." Sanaa said and Zara just nodded with a polite smile and Sanaa walked away, wondering about Kabir's disbelief on fate and the live example of how fate really works in front of her.

Forty three Days after Kabir's accident:

"You know Dr. Kabir, you are really lucky!" Zara said while checking the screen beside him to note down any progress.

"You might think that what nuisance I am saying when you are here in coma for more than one month now but trust me you are." She said now going through the case file.

After adding a new medicine in his schedule she looked up to see his face and sat on a visiting chair beside him.

"You have got such a sweet woman who is constantly worried about you. Dr. Sanaa is really working very hard for you and she is putting all her efforts for you to become fine. Many people give up hope but she is really stubborn for not giving up.

Every three days she is here to check your progress and in the past one week when she was not able to come; she called me daily to check up on your progress and if I tell her about a slight improvement she becomes really hopeful.

Sometimes I get afraid that what would be the end result but Dr. Sanaa's words really motivates me. Now I know why you used to call her sweetie pie. She is really sweet. Even though she is my senior she never shows it off. I feel very comfortable with her.

I don't know what the relation between you two is but I have been really curious like others in college. Unlike others I don't feel it's a romantic relation because I have seen the way you two used to take care of each other. It was something so pure and deep which needs not to be put in words. She was your sweetie pie and you were her Bir.

So, Dr. Kabir Shah come out of your coma and also bring your sweetie pie out of her misery because even if she tries to hide; I can see she is really worried and even if she puts a brave façade I could see the fear underneath it.

I remember that whenever you were worried you looked at your phone in every once in a while and your left shoulder vein used to twitch and I also saw you smoking once when you were at the backstage before the scholarship results for third year were out. You thought you were alone but I was there.

I had always been there, when you were going to a gym with Dr. Rahul or when you were making fun of Dr. Pakhi or when you were scaring boys away from your sweetie pie.

I know you never noticed me. I made sure of it myself that you never notice me. Why? Because you were or still are every girl's dream and I am.... Well I am just me, a simple junior who had a crush on her senior who happened to be the most popular guy.

I knew that there will be no us... not then and never in future but a girl can dream, right?" She said and chuckled.

"Why I am telling you all of these now? No I don't have any intention to pursue you because I know my limits. I know you are a distant star which I can only gaze but can never get.

I am telling you all this because it felt that I am doing wrong with you. Keeping you in my mind and heart from years and not telling you ever, so I kind of felt guilty. Don't worry you will never see me in your way once you wake up nor do you have to listen to my silly talks every day.

So if I am really boring you then you must come out of your coma soon for your friends, your sweetie pie.... for me." She added the last part in a slow whisper.

She heard her name being called, "I have to go now, Dr. Kabir. Duty calls but I will come back to eat your mind as soon as I am free so don't feel too much relieved. Good Bye for now!" She said and left.

She wanted to go close to him and put a comforting hand over his but she reminded herself about her limits and sighed.

This is going to be more difficult than what I thought. I have to be strong. He is just a crush that faded years ago. He is not mine and he will never be. He will get someone perfect for him. She reminded herself.

She accepted the truth and walked away from him and cheerfully smiled at the nurse who was waiting for her.

Only she knew the truth behind that fake smile just like she knew the truth behind her feelings which were deeper than that for a crush.

Why so sweet Zara, why?

Her simplicity and prejudice free nature is the one thing that had helped her accept Kabir the way he is, without any changes when we get frustrated just by reading about how much he is hiding from everyone...

Sanaa and Kabir's reunion, kind off. I have decided that I can't leave it or anything else. If that means this story is going to be a bit long than so be it!
