Welcome to My Enemies
Okay let's start at the beginning. My name is Ezekiel Williams. I'm 18 and currently on the run from Dugal. Speaking of which he is currently getting closer so let's cut this short.
I live in a pretty fucked up society where hybrids like me are frowned upon. What are hybrids you may ask; well, they are half human half of another kind. In my case I'm half avian. Which also makes me a huge target with these wings. So I've been on the run trying to find a place to settle which leads me here, running away from this asshole.
"You can't keep running, I will catch you!" A loud voice called out from behind me.
"Yes, I can! What does it look like I'm doing!" I shouted back my pace faltering. Frantically I looked around as I was leading myself to a dead end. I skidded to a stop being trapped in a corner I turned to face one of my glorious problems.
"Hah! I got you now! Stay still and this could be over fast." Dugal sneered.
"Y'know dude as much as I would love to take you up on that offer, but I have places to be." I rolled my eyes as confusion filled his. "See ya around!" I pulled myself up the brick wall before bursting into flight.
I laughed as I soared over the town, heads turned upwards to look at me, but I was used to it. My eyes scanned the pavement in search of a safe place to land. My eyes landed upon a nice little bakery. Still giggling from earlier the landing wasn't as graceful as I'd imagine. Stumbling to a stop, I looked around. Just as I caught my breath I fell back to the ground.
Looking around in confusion i made eye contact with this girl. She was a good inch or two shorter than me and had lovely brown eyes, wait okay il pretend I didn't just think that.
"Ohmygod I'm so SO sorry!" She apologized.
I smiled, "It's okay I promise." I stood up offering her my hand. She took it standing up and dusting herself off.
"What's your name?"
"Ezekiel, what about yours?"
"Delilah. Ezekiel I'm so sorry. I should get you something to apologize...!"
"No, you don't have to-" I tried before Delilah insisted again and I knew I couldn't resist.

I shuffled my wings into a window booth as I sat across from Delilah as we waited for our baked goods to come.
"So, what's your favorite coffee?" Delilah asked her gaze settling on me.
I chuckled, "I don't drink coffee. Makes me too hyper."
Delilah dramatically placed a hand over her heart and exclaimed, "How dare you!" My act cracked and I laughed. A smile painted her face just as the waitress came up with our order.

I turned to leave just before I heard my name, turning to look behind me there as Delilah.
"Hey! uhm can I have your number I had fun talking to you. Of course, you don't have to give it to me! I just-"
I laughed interrupting her rant, "Yeah sure I don't mind."
After we exchanged numbers, we waved and went our ways. By the time I got home the sun had set and I was exhausted. Unlocking my apartment, I walked in and to put it simply, passed out.
