Chapter 2: Discovery.
Anos was currently walking around Fuyuki City, Anos looked at the tall buildings, the streets and he stopped in front of a library.
"It seems like I need knowledge about the current world" Anos said and walked into the library.
He stepped inside, the glass door automatically opened gently. The cool air of the air conditioner enveloped him, along with the familiar smell of old paper and ink. Anos looked around, seeing the tall bookshelves, filled with books of all colors and sizes.
A young librarian was sitting behind the reception desk, she looked up when she saw Anos enter. Her eyes widened in surprise at his strange appearance - black hair, crimson eyes, wearing a cosplayer-like armor, and a majestic aura emanating from him.
"Hello... hello." the librarian stuttered. "What book are you looking for?"
Anos looked at her, his eyes cold but no less attractive. "I need to learn about the current world. Everything from history, culture, to technology."
The librarian nodded, trying to regain her composure. "Yes, you can find books on history and culture in the left section, and books on technology in the right section."
Anos nodded slightly, then walked towards the history section. He glanced through the books, his fingers lightly touching the old covers. He stopped in front of a book titled "World History from Ancient to Modern Times."
Anos looked over at the librarian to make sure she couldn't see, when he was sure she couldn't see, he controlled the books to fly up, each page was continuously flipped through and then they automatically turned back to the old one, Anos had finished reading.
"Hmm... this world has a lot of strange things, things in this world that my old world doesn't have, even people like Gilgamesh, King Arthur, Lu Bu and even many other characters... obviously I've never met those people before" Anos was lost in thought, he was slowly guessing something.
Putting that aside, it was obvious that demons didn't exist, there were quite a few but they also looked quite strange.
Anos turned back to the reception desk, the librarian was still sitting there, she looked at him with curious eyes.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" she asked.
Anos nodded. "Yes. Thank you."
The librarian smiled. "You're welcome. If you need anything else, just come here."
Anos chuckled, then turned away. He walked out of the library, the sunset shining on his face. <Tel> is already in use.
"It's already 8 o'clock in the evening..." Anos suddenly sensed something "There's a battle nearby... interesting..."
"Gatom" the magic was chanted and Anos immediately teleported towards the mana Anos sensed.
Anos teleported to the rooftop and he saw that there was a battle between a man in blue holding a red spear fighting with a blonde girl wearing knight armor, it seemed like her sword was invisible.
Anos stood on the rooftop, his crimson eyes observing the scene happening below. The battle between the man in blue holding a red spear and the blonde girl wearing knight armor was fierce. The surrounding air was filled with magical energy, small explosions continuously occurred when their weapons collided.
"Interesting," Anos said softly, the corner of his mouth curling up into a smile. "These two don't seem ordinary."
The man in blue, with a red spear in his hand, attacked repeatedly. Each of his attacks carried destructive power, but the blonde girl with her invisible sword continuously dodged and counterattacked skillfully. Her invisible sword created sharp cuts in the air, forcing the man to continuously retreat.
"You coward, how dare you hide your weapon!" The spearman shouted and swung a slash, but the blonde girl blocked it.
The spearman retreated a bit and jumped around, then he rushed towards the girl with lightning speed "Don't underestimate your opponent, fool!" The two charged and exchanged blows.
The girl holding the sword immediately took the opportunity and sent the other person flying away.
"What's wrong Lancer, how shameful of a spearman" the invisible sword was shining brighter "if you don't dare to approach me then I will approach you"
"Before that tell me, is your weapon a sword or not?" The girl heard Lancer say that and also replied "Who knows, it could be an axe, it could be a staff, it could be a staff"
"Hah, good joke, swordswoman"
Anos was sitting on the roof of the house on the other side observing, he started to analyze "Saber and Lancer? If there is a Soldier here then there must be a master nearby" Anos used the Demon Eye of Destruction and looked through the warehouse and saw a red-haired boy "is that saber's master?"
"Give me your heart, Gae Bolg!" Lancer's shout attracted Anos' attention.
The spear glowed red and Lancer stabbed it straight at Saber.
Anos watched from above, his crimson eyes not missing a single detail. As Lancer shouted the incantation “Gae Bolg!”, the red spear in his hand burst into a crimson light, carrying with it a terrifying destructive power. The spear rushed straight towards Saber at a terrifying speed, impossible to dodge.
Saber, with her invisible sword, tried to block this attack. But Gae Bolg was not an ordinary attack. It was a Noble Phantasm that could reverse cause and effect, ensuring that it would always hit its target once activated.
“Impossible!” Saber exclaimed, her invisible sword trying to block the spear, but it continued to advance towards her heart.
In that moment, Anos realized that if he did not intervene, Saber would be defeated. He did not want this battle to end too soon.
“Enough,” Anos said, his voice filled with power. He raised his hand, a huge wave of magical power emanating from it, stopping Gae Bolg just before it could hit Saber.
Lancer was surprised, his eyes fixed on Anos. “Who dares to interfere with our battle?”
Anos stepped down from the rooftop, his crimson eyes sparkling with confidence. “I am Arnos Voldigod, the Demon King of the Age of Gods. And I do not want this battle to end so soon.”
Saber looked at Anos with gratitude and caution. “Who are you? Why are you helping me?”
Anos chuckled. “I am not helping you. I just want to see how far you can go. But if you want to thank me, I will not refuse.”
Lancer frowned, the red spear in his hand still glowing brightly. “Do you think you can stop me? Gae Bolg cannot be stopped!”
Anos looked at Lancer, his eyes cold. "Do you think you can threaten me? I have faced people a hundred times stronger than you. Your Gae Bolg is child's play to me."
Lancer was furious, he rushed towards Anos at a terrifying speed. But before he could get close, Anos raised his hand, a huge wave of magical power pushed Lancer away.
"Enough," Anos said. "I don't have time to waste on weaklings like you."
Saber looked at Anos with admiration and caution. "You are truly strong. But why did you interfere in our battle?"
Anos looked at Saber, the corner of his mouth curled into a smile. "I said it. I want to see how far you can go. But if you want to thank me, I won't refuse."
Lancer stood up, his eyes filled with anger. "Do you think you can defeat me? I'll show you the true power of Gae Bolg!"
Anos looked at Lancer, his eyes cold. "Try it."
Lancer angrily charged at Anos and the two began to exchange attacks, Lancer continuously launching slashes and Anos blocking them all with a finger.
"How can that guy be so strong?" The red-haired boy - Shirou Emiya - was watching the battle from afar, his eyes filled with amazement. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Lancer, a powerful Servant, was being blocked by a mysterious man with just a finger.
Anos and Lancer were facing each other, Lancer's attacks continuously being launched at a dizzying speed. But every time his red spear flew towards Anos, he just raised a finger and blocked it easily. The sounds of collisions continued to ring out, but Anos remained steadfast, unwavering.
Lancer grew angrier, unable to accept being looked down upon like this. "Who do you think you are? To look down upon me like this!"
Anos chuckled, his crimson eyes sparkling with confidence. "I told you, I am Arnos Voldigod. And you are but a weakling compared to me."
Lancer roared, concentrating all his power into his red spear. "Gae Bolg!"
The spear burst into a crimson light, carrying with it a terrifying destructive power. Lancer charged towards Anos at terrifying speed, the spear aimed straight at his heart.
Anos stood still, Lancer's red spear still deeply embedded in his chest, but he showed no pain or worry. Instead, he chuckled, his crimson eyes sparkling with confidence and defiance.
"What!" Lancer exclaimed, his eyes filled with surprise as he saw that Anos was not affected by his attack. He tried to pull the spear out, but Anos grabbed it tightly, pulling Lancer closer.
"Do you think you can defeat me?" Anos said, his voice filled with power. "Let's see."
With a lightning-fast movement, Anos stabbed the spear deeper into his body, pulling Lancer so close that he could hear his breathing. Then, Anos cast the magic <Degzegd>, an ancient and powerful magic. Black snake-like marks appeared on Lancer's body, baring their fangs and cursing, causing Lancer's magical power to become insane and uncontrollable.
“Damn it…” Lancer muttered, trying to pull out the spear and retreat. But his body had already begun to disintegrate under the influence of magic. He felt his strength slowly disappearing, and his life was leaving him.
On one side, Lancer’s Master ordered him to retreat. “Lancer, retreat now! We cannot continue this battle!”
Lancer nodded, his eyes filled with anger and helplessness. He looked at Anos one last time, his voice full of defiance. “Tsk, remember this battle, Anos Voldigoad. I will come back and kill you!”
After saying that, Lancer turned around and disappeared into the darkness, leaving Anos standing there, the red spear still deeply embedded in his chest.
Anos watched Lancer’s figure disappear, the corner of his mouth curling up into a smile. “I will wait for you, Lancer. But next time, bring more power.”
He pulled the spear out of his chest, the wound instantly healed as if it had never existed, the spear fell to the ground and automatically flew back to its owner. Anos turned around, looking at Saber and Shirou, his eyes full of challenge.
"So, do you want to continue this battle?" Anos asked, his voice filled with power.
Saber looked at Anos with a wary gaze "Who are you, Master or a Heroic Spirit?"
"I am not a Master, nor a Heroic Spirit, I am simply a Demon King" Anos replied and both of them had question marks above their heads "Demon King?"
"You guys in this era have never known someone like me, don't think too much" Shirou walked out of the warehouse and approached Saber.
"Anyway" Saber turned to Shirou "What's the matter?"
"You...what are you?" Shirou asked Saber "I'm Servant Saber"
"Servant Saber?"
"Yes, you can call me Saber."
"Oh, you can call me Shirou...Emiya Shirou"
"Wait, I didn't mean to ask that"
"Yes, I understand, you're not a trained master, right? Since we've already made a contract, I won't harm or betray you, so you don't need to be so cautious with me"
"I don't understand what she's saying" Shirou wondered in his mind. "N-no, that's not it, my name isn't Master."
"Then I'll call you Shirou, it's more comfortable"
"Huh, but isn't that what people usually call them when they first meet?"
"Shirou, heal me" Saber said to Shirou "sorry but I don't know such difficult magic words, but isn't your wound healed already?"
"Then I'll just leave it at that, the self-healing ability only treats the skin." Saber looked over to the other side of the wall "But one more battle isn't a problem" Saber then jumped onto the roof, Shirou saw that and asked "what do you mean, one more battle?"
"There are two enemies outside, they seem to be Lancer's opponents from earlier"
Shirou was surprised because he recognized the person Saber was talking about as the person he saw fighting Lancer when he came back late from school, he immediately ran out of the house "wait Saber!"
Outside, Saber immediately rushed towards the two strangers, the other pushed the girl aside and blocked Saber's slash.
"Archer, materialize!" The girl screamed and the other person, who seemed to be a Heroic Spirit, disappeared, Saber changed direction and charged at the girl "don't underestimate me!" The girl threw explosive magic stones at Saber but was immediately cut to pieces.
"That's impressive, mage" Saber pointed the invisible sword at the girl "but this is the end, Archer's Master."
"Stop, Saber!" Shirou immediately stopped Saber "Why stop Shirou, we should destroy Saber's Master right now"
"Wait Saber, we don't understand what's going on yet, if I'm your Master then you should explain a little bit" Saber with that skill immediately fell silent.
"So... are you going to put down your sword?" The girl asked Saber "That's enough, I don't put down my sword before the enemy"
"Didn't your Master give the order? Or does Saber want to go against her Master's orders?" Hearing the girl say that, Saber immediately put away her sword.
"Then I can stand up now" the girl said, standing up and dusting off her body.
Shirou looked closely and immediately recognized who was in front of him "You, you are Tohsaka Rin!"
"Yes, good evening Emiya-kun"
To be continued...
