Chapter 12

The ground beneath their feet broke apart as their weapons clashed. The wind was so violent from their speed that branches from trees fell to the ground. As Berserker swung down its axe-sword, the headless rider swung its hooks at the weapon.

A huge gust of wind flows through the area the moment their weapons collided. While the headless rider and Berserker were pushing each other back, the wolf howled as it clawed at Berserker's chest. Berserker quickly jumped back to gain some distance. As the mad servant looked at Avenger's claws, it saw that they were tainted with his own blood.

As Berserker let a roar escape from him, Avenger returned the favor with a mighty howl. Soon the two of them dashed toward the woods as they continued their clash. The moment Berserker swung its axe-sword, Avenger jumped high into the air. Soon Avenger spun its body in a manner similar to a buzzsaw.

Seeing this, Berserker held its axe-sword in front of him as Avenger collided with the blade. Neither Servant were moving an inch during this struggle. Soon Avenger stopped spinning its body as it landed on the ground. While the headless rider was repeatedly swinging its hooks at Berserker, the wolf sunk its fangs into Berserker's right leg.

A roar escaped from Berserker as Avenger sunk its fangs into its leg. As Berserker held the axe-sword with both of his hands, he swung the blade downwards with great might. While this happened, the headless rider held up both of his hooks in order to block the attack.

The moment Berserker's axe-sword collided with the headless rider's hooks, the very ground underneath both servants began to form a crater. As the headless rider and Berserker were struggling to push each other back, the wolf was growling as it was putting all of its strength in its legs.

Soon the wolf dashed forward, causing both its rider and Berserker to lose balance. When this happened, Avenger sunk its claws into Berserker's shoulders as it bit down on the servant's neck with great force. For a few moments, Berserker struggled to get out of the wolf's grasp. However, after seeing that it couldn't hit the beast with its axe sword properly, the mad servant struck Avenger's head with the back of its right hand as it felt its shoulder being torn by the wolf's claws in the process.

While Berserker felt its blood trickling down from his neck, Avenger felt its own blood escaping from his head and staining his fur. As the two servants glared at each other, Berserker let out a monstrous roar. Seeing this, Avenger howled with all of its might. Soon the two servants charged with immense speed. Just as Berserker was about to swing his axe-sword and Avenger was about to use its hooks, something caught their attention more than their battle.

"That's enough, Berserker!!!!!!"

"This isn't the prey we originally chased after, Ookami-san."

The two servants stopped in their tracks. Their weapons just a few inches away from each other. As both servants jumped backwards, they were now by the side of their respective Masters. While this happened, the Masters looked at each other in a brief moment of shock.

"Is this some joke? It's one thing to trust the words of another, but its an entirely different story seeing it with my own eyes. I had my suspicion but this confirms it. You really were a Master this whole time, Hibari-san."

"I came here when I heard Ookami-san's howl. I guess you came here for the same reason, only the difference was because you heard that monster's roar. Right, Little Carnivore?"

"Is he not aware of the connection of the connection that Masters and Servants share?"

"Berserker, could you wait for me inside of those trees? When i'm done here, i'll come to you."

"Ookami-san, you're free to roam wherever you wish. However, I ask that you leave this spot to me."

The sound of growling came to a halt. As Avenger and Berserker looked at their Masters, Berserker nods his head as he walked to the forest. Meanwhile, Avenger merely turned around and ran off into the night as it became transparent. Now it was only Illya and Hibari in the area.

"Hibari.....I want to know something? Are you allied with Rin and Shirou?"

"Tohsaka and Emiya? Don't get the wrong idea. If they're attacked on my territory by an enemy, then i'll bite that enemy to death. However, if they themselves cause the order in my territory to be disrupted and were attacked, then i'd bite all three of them to death. The only person's side i'm on is my own. I hate crowds."

As Hibari said this, Illya and himself were looking at each other. As Illya looked at Hibari, she could tell that the boy was serious. Hibari Kyoya is on no one's side except his own. Just as she was expecting Hibari to question her, she was met with an unexpected response.

"I'm tired....."

"Hibari! Hibari!!"

"I know, little one. We'll go home soon. Little Carnivore, tonight i've answered your questions. Before I go to school, we'll meet at that small park once more. It'd be in your favor to show up."

Having said that, Hibari walked away from Illya with Hibird on his shoulder. While this happened, Illya went towards Berserker. When she reached her servant, she had him carry her back to Einzbern Castle. While this happened, she was thinking to herself.

"This meeting tomorrow......it'll probably determine how Hibari-san views me. Though, I can never tell what goes on through his head. But his servant went head-to-head with Berserker. Somehow you keep becoming more interesting, Hibari-san."

~Meanwhile~
Inside of the Emiya Residence, Shirou is seen sitting across from Saber and Rin. The atmosphere was extremely tense as everyone drunk some tea. However, the silence was broken when Rin slammed her cup on the table.

"Dammit!!! What is that Disciplinary Jerk's problem?!"

"Tohsaka, calm down. I get that you're upset but-"

"Seriously, he didn't even help with taking down the bounded field nor did he deal with the servants yet he goes and attacks us out of no where for "disrupting order in his territory". Not only that, he somehow snagged a powerful servant. What the heck?!"

After Rin finished her rant, she looked towards Shirou. In all honesty, he couldn't say that Hibari didn't help. When they were moving students outside, he noticed Ryohei and the Disciplinary Committee were already there. That showed that Hibari wasn't completely heartless, at least in Shirou's eyes. However, as Shirou was thinking this, Saber spoke up.

"This is your territory, is it not, Rin? I find it hard to believe that man has so much authority over the school and the city."

"Yes, though Hibari seems to believe otherwise since he claims the school and the city as his territory, but he has one thing over me unfortunately. He doesn't seem to care about the world of magecraft being known. He's not bound by the responsibility of keeping it secret, so he can act anytime he wants. Honestly, he's probably the most dangerous Master in this war considering we know close to nothing about him."

"Actually, Tohsaka. I think he might be the most reasonable Master we've encountered."

Saber and Rin both looked at Shirou in confusion. How in the world is Hibari Kyoya the most reasonable master in this war? Seeing their expressions, Shirou decided to explain himself.

"Well, haven't you noticed that everytime he attacked us, that the school was in shambles. Other than that, what else has he really done?"

"That is true.....he only attacked us because we caused trouble at the school. If he really wanted us dead, he could've had his servant come after us sooner than this."

"See? Hibari-san loves the school and this city more than anything. So it stands to reason that if the other master and servants run amok, he's most likely to go after them, right?"

"Mutual understanding with Hibari Kyoya is impossible."

After Shirou explained himself, Archer finally spoke up after standing as lookout from the roof of Shirou's home. He was listening to their conversation, but he had to object what Shirou is getting at.

"Hibari let you two off easy the first time since you were only first time offenders. The second time he caught you both as the school was in shambles, though it was probably bad timing, made him resort to sicking his servant at you. Plus he strikes me as the type to only work with himself."

"Archer is right. In any case, let's focus on our original plan. Finding Caster's Master will take priority. As for Hibari, we should be extra careful around him. Rest easy, Emiya-kun."

As Rin said this, both Archer and herself were leaving Shirou's home. As they were heading back to Tohsaka Manor, Archer was thinking to himself. Thinking of a plan on how Hibari might be of use to Rin.

"Mutual understanding is impossible with Hibari. However, if we can't directly get him to help us, than maybe we should indirectly try to use him to our advantage."
