Time Equivalent Pt. 2
Just a continuation of part one. I doubt there are any spoilers...

"Your master is a child?" (y/n) asked. Surely this individual standing idly in this home library with a book open in one hand was not Mordred's master. The boy seemed no older nine or ten. Even those ages were pushing it.
"That's what I said when I was summoned, but master is far more capable than you think," she answered. "Unfreeze him so we can fill him in on the situation. His face is almost always in those boring books, so maybe he knows something." Upon Mordred's request, (y/n) excluded her master from the time stop. Within seconds, the boy had pulled a gun on him, a small pocket sized one but a gun nevertheless.
"Mordred, what did I say about bring home strange things? Do you want me to have a heart attack? I could have killed him," the boy growled once her noticed that his servant was present. Mordred only grinned as though she were innocent of any wrongdoing.
"Can you maybe not point that at my face? I've already had other people aiming at me already today," (y/n) spoke. He wasn't necessarily surprised that the boy had pulled a gun on him, but he did wondered why he even had one to begin with.
"You stay there," the boy ordered as he closed his book. "Mordred, who is this? Or rather...what is he? You two just got here out of nowhere and I know you can't teleport."
Mordred narrowed her eyes at her master. "Quit whining. This is time freeze guy. He stopped time and these mages are trying to kill him because he's a threat to the world or something. He claims he's never harmed anyone though," she explained. Her master lowered his weapon after she'd spoken.
"You forgot my name already..." (y/n) noticed. Mordred blinked a few times in an attempt to remember, but came up empty handed. "I'm (y/n). Eight years ago, I woke up in this era from a particularly long nap. I figured out the basics of how things worked in this time and I started living here, blending in with society. I'm a diety, that much I know, but..." he was speaking to Mordred's master, but the boy had stepped back from him.
"Did you just say eight years ago? And you're a diety? That's...Mordred what the hell did you do?? Why's he here?" The boy who seemed threatening in his own way a mere moment ago was now terrified of him.
"I didn't do anything! He just stopped a robbery and I just happened to be there. These other mages wearing those necklaces there said he had to die or the world would end. It's kind of stupid if you ask me," Mordred pointed at the necklaces in (y/n)'s hands.
"Do you know what those are...(y/n)?" Mordred's master asked. He seemed hesitant to call him by his name too.
"No, but they were familiar and I didn't want to leave them. Are they important? You seem to know what those other people knew. Why do you know and why do you seem like you're afraid of me? But you're human aren't you, so of course you're afraid. Humans are scared of what they don't understand...so they destroy those things," (y/n) ranted.
"Your mind is wandering again. Not making any sense over there," Mordred commented before she slung an arm over his shoulder and ruffled his hair. "Lighten up. Master here knows just what to do to help you out."
"No, I don't. And he's right. People destroy what they fear. They always have. My name is Waver. I'm an adult trapped in a child's body because of my experimentation with the forces of time. I think...no, I know I am the reason you woke up. Eight years ago is when I tampered with a shrine in Kyoto that was rumored to belong to a diety of time, one that nearly destroyed all of Japan. You're him aren't you? But...you don't seem like you know any of this..." Waver said. The boy's fear was slowly disappearing.
"It's too boring of a world to destroy it. Not worth it, really. Not that I even know how to do that. If that really was you eight years ago, why'd you wake me up if you knew all that?" (y/n) muttered. Mordred still had an arm over his shoulder as he stood there.
"I was looking for clues to reverse this," Waver answered, referring to his childlike appearance. "It wasn't until a few months afterwards that I was informed by the association that you had woken up from that shrine. You're nothing like the history books and myths though. They made you seem much older, less patient, more cruel..." Waver silenced himself when he saw the look in (y/n)'s eyes. It was one of disappointment yet Waver looked as if he'd offended a king and was about to be killed for it.
"I'm just a highschooler that doesn't end to go to highschool and I'm bored. Very very bored. I'm technically older but there's no way that I'm impatient and I'm not cruel. I even pay taxes and work and act like anornal human. Come on now, give me a break," (y/n) said. Waver sort of laughed at him when he'd said this. "What? I didn't say anything funny..."
"You did. Sorry, I have a strange sense of humor. You don't remember anything from before you were alseep at all huh. And now you're complaining about taxes. I found it funny." Waver smiled at him. "Maybe I can actually help you as long as you're not the same as back then."
"I do remember what happened in the past. I remember everything, the villages and provinces and samurai and...the oni, the evil and greed of humans, the suffering of the poor, the honor of those who fought for their own sense of justice. That's why I don't understand any of this. I went to sleep to protect a place. I can't remember that place, but that's why I went to sleep and now you claim I want to destroy the world." (Y/n) held up the necklaces that were still in his hands. "I don't remember ever seeing these, but they feel like I know them. Like they're a part of me."
"Maybe they are. If you put them on, will you fuse with them?" Mordred suggested.
"Don't listen to her," Waver sighed.
"Eh? What's the matter, you think I can't come up with a good idea too? Huh, master?" Mordred pouted. (Y/n) found himself giving way to a smile at her actions. This is what a nonhuman acted like...but then again, humans acted like this too. "I don't care about humans at all." He found that phrase crossing his mind again, but this time he could sense his own feeling of betrayal behind the thought.
"It's a terrible idea, Mordred. Those belonged to the heroes that supposedly stopped the diety Equivalent and sealed him in that shrine. The story says they used those to stop you, that they were made from your essence. According to you, they are liars. The while story is a lie if we take everything you just said into mind." Waver nodded and mumbled a few things to himself. "Yes, this makes sense. You've been framed."
"Can you clear my name? This world may be boring, but I don't exactly want to die. I'm not an invincible diety, these modern weapons are frightening. Seriously, who came up with this stuff? I thought swords were the most dangerous weapons," (y/n) had began to ramble again.
"And to think I was actually scared of you for a moment. You're just like a teenager," Waver mumbled but that time (y/n) heard him.
"Says the child," he retorted. Waver frowned at him.
"I told you, I'm an adult trapped in this form. You don't even know how annoying it is to go places with Mordred for them to mistake me as her younger brother or child. She won't even let me get within twenty feet of a cigarette!" Waver complained.
"Aren't those bad for you..." (y/n) spoke. He didn't really care, but this was Mordred's master and she was not human. It computed in his mind in this way that he could spare this human his care. "I was betrayed by them therefore I don't care for them. They're all boring."
"Hey, shouldn't you unfreeze time? Isn't everyone else still stuck in place?" Mordred asked as she let him go. She went to a window to look at the people outside on the streets below them. It was her request, so (y/n) granted it. "Hey, they started moving again! You did that right?" Mordred turned to face him, and he didn't see the humanity that she must have still had. He saw someone he could care about, one that could make things far less boring.
"I did. Can I stay here with the two of you?" he said. Waver and Mordred shared a glance as if deciding such between themselves. In fact, it seemed as if they were literally discussing the topic without even saying a word. "I'm not going to destroy all of Japan," (y/n) added just in case that was a determining factor. "I don't even have to go back to school and I can work and-"
"You're staying. We still have to help you clear you name," Waver decided. "Plus this is sort of my mess anyway. If I hadn't gone there to mess with that shrine, you wouldn't be here right now."
"I don't mind being here, I'm just overwhelmingly bored," (y/n) thought with a sigh. "Mordred, wasn't there something you wanted to tell me about? A war or something. It must have been terrible," he wanted to change the subject as soon as possible. Lucky for him, Mordred was more than happy to indulge his request.
"Yeah, the holy grail war. Master and I won it without a problem. Berserker was the hardest to fight. She was always going around yelling something strange whenever she saw a man. I think she had a few loose screws." Mordred summoned her sword from literally nowhere. "I took my sword and cut that head of hers clean off. You should have seen it! She went after Master even though he was still looking like a child, and I just swung at her just like this!" Mordred swung her blade, mimicking the action she supposedly took in the past.
"Watch where you swing that thing!!" Waver scolded although he didn't seem like he was going to stop her. It was as if he also wanted to hear the story of this mysterious holy grail war.
"Yeah, whatever. I' not gonna break anything," Mordred scoffed. She turned her attention back to (y/n) who hadn't stopped watching her even for a moment. "Oi, what's with that bored look? You don't think I really did it?" she spoke.
"I believe you. Tell me more," (y/n) assured even though he had no context and was very confused as to why this war hadn't been recorded in history books.
"I knew you'd say that. Master and I took down Assassin too. She was really weird always claiming she was going to kill Master. Said she was an oni, whatever that is. Master was scared for his life when I took her down, it was hilarious. Assassin jumped on him and was going to eat his face off!!" Mordred exclaimed. "Go on. Guess what I did," she urged.
"You took your sword and cut that head of hers clean off just like this," (y/n) said. He even move his arms to mimic the way Mordred had swung her sword. She grinned at him and he found himself returning the gesture on to realize moments later that he had frozen time again. He was just about to undo this unconscious action, but stopped himself. Mordred was every bit of human that anyone else was, yet for some reason, she was different simply because she was not human. This aspect alone allowed (y/n) to see her without any sort of predetermined opinions. Mordred was Mordred and he wanted to know her more.
Not wanting to be strange, he let time begin again. "You bet I did, no hesitation!" Mordred proudly announced. "And everything else was a piece of cake from there. No one could stand up to me. I'm the greatest servant there is!"
"You explained absolutely nothing to him," Waver pointed out with a slight laugh. (Y/n) didn't mind. He was no longer bored watching and listening to Mordred tell her stories. Whatever a servant was, they were certainly fascinating.
"If anyone were to ask me again...I'd say that I care now," (y/n) thought to himself. He temporarily forgot about his problems and focused only on the blonde servant who had his full attention. She had trapped him as if she had the ability to freeze time, and he was stuck under her control with no way to escape it.

I'm starting to realize that I need more Mordred and less actual plot if that makes any sense. Could just be me. Anyways, I'm planning to binge though a few oneshots so expect some more updates soon.
