Shoot and Tie

Not necessarily any spoilers. It's all modernized so Mordred isn't a servant. No mages either so yeah, that's fun... Just be on the lookout in case I did accidentally spoil something.

Security was probably the main issue for anyone looking to attack anyone in the place. Hotel Camelot was known for it's top quality and just as well known for the many important people that came to visit. Famous actors like Rituska Fujimaru, singers like Rin and Sakura Tohsaka, and even royalty like King Gilgamesh showed up at Hotel Camelot. Such was why it had the one of the most dangerous security teams on the planet. Their visitors were targets for many people, more specifically terrorists and assassins. Regardless, every staff member was equipped with a stunning suit, extreme training, combat knowledge, and a standard gun. Other weapons were allowed but had to be obtained through other means.

Tonight was one of their most important days. The hotel had been chosen as the meeting place for a peace treaty between two countries. Princess Scathach was meeting on behalf of her sister the queen to stop a potential war. Lord Nobunaga was already there and had been perfectly safe in the hands of Hotel Camelot, however (y/n) had uncovered serious intel about an assassination attempt. He and his partner were tasked with watching over the princess when she arrived.

"Welcome to Hotel Camelot! Please enjoy yours stay," (y/n) politely greeted the next guest. He was on door duty until Scathach arrived. Someone else would take his place so that he would guide the princess to the meeting and watch over her for the remained of her visit. Mordred, his partner, was on reception duty and would do the same once the princess arrived. "Welcome to Hotel Camelot! Please enjoy your stay," he greeted once more as the celebrity couple passed through the doors. Then, just as the doors closed, he caught sight of that blue hair that he had been told to keep an eye out for in case things changed. The princess wasn't going to show up.

"Welcome to Hotel Camelot. My name is (y/n) and I will be your escort during your stay here," (y/n) spoke with a slight bow when the prince made his way into the building. The man blinked at him before remembering to give a reply.

"Ah, nice to meet you. You seem to already know who I am. And you must know why I'm here too. I'd like to finish up here as soon as possible, so could you show me to the conference room?" Prince Cú spoke.

"Of course. Right this way, sir." They headed past the receptionist desk on purpose so that (y/n) could send Mordred a secret signal to notify her of the change in plans. Prince Cú was to occupied with greeting passing guest to notice the short gesture that (y/n) made to his partner. Once they reached the elevator, it was smooth sailing from there. After passing just two floors, the elevatorbrought them to their destination. The servers opened the doors for them and waited to be given orders. "Here we are, sir. The other guests should be here any moment now. Would you like a drink while you wait?"

"A spritz will be fine, thank you. I'd like to remain sober while the meeting is taking place," Prince Cú answered with a laugh. (Y/n) gestured to the attendant behind him without even facing them,, and they left without hesitation to prepare the requested drink. "And call me Cú. No need for the formalities. I'm no one important." The blue haired male's mood seemed to cloud over with worry upon saying those words.

"Are you anxious about the meeting? I've been told that it will determine whether or not your country goes to war," (y/n) decided to say. Cú quickly shook his head in denial.

"I'm more worried for Lord Nobunaga's safety. The rumors must have been true if Skadi sent me in Scathach's place. If either of us are harmed during the meeting, it could cause civil unrest. I'm not all that great with politics and I hate giving speeches. It would be a pain to clean up after if it doesn't simply start the war we're trying to avoid," Cú explained.

"I see..." (y/n) tilted his head. "You seem awfully comfortable with telling that information to a complete stranger," he noted just as the attendant returned with the spritz.

Cú flashed him a grin with a strange look of amusement before taking his drink. "I know exactly who you are. Although we've never met, I was given your portfolio before arriving here. They say you're fast enough to dodge bullets and strong enough to stop a speeding vehicle in its tracks. You sure you're all human?" Cù took a sip from his drink and plopped onto the nearest couch within the circle of them.

"I'm human as far as I know, although the training I went through was a probably wht cause these things you've mentioned. I'm fully prepared to stop anything or anyone aiming to kill you," (y/n) informed.

"Good to know. What about that partner of yours? Is she the same or do you get to be her knight in shining armor too?" Cú joked. Before (y/n) could answer him, the other party arrived prompting him to step aside and keep quiet. Lord Nobunaga along with her brother and likely her own guard of sorts made their way to their seats. The two sides exchanged their nods of greeting before Lord Nobunaga spoke.

"Two martinis, lemons to the side. Nobukatsu is sensitive to alcohol so go light on the vodka please," she spoke. The attendants saw to her order and she turned her gaze to (y/n). "It's good to see you again, (y/n). Has Prince Cú been behaving himself in your presence. I'd hate to have to go to war over the mistreatment of Hotel Camelot's best guard," she said.

"Everything has been fine. Cú has been just as hospitable as you have. I believe there shouldn't be any problems," he answered, remembering to abide by the prince's request regarding his name.

"Well then. Let's get down to business. Nobukatsu, please pass over the documents. We have much to discuss." Much of the meeting was a blur to (y/n). He drowned out the talk of politics to listen to the air flowing through the vents. He replaced their sounds of occasional laughter with listening for the elevator chime. He even ignored the shuffling of paper to make sure he didn't hear the sound of a silenced bullet. (Y/n) had long since heard Mordred take her post just outside of the conference room, so he made sure to listen for her safety as well.

"I see. I will be sure to inform her highness of the situation. You have my word that we will send aid as soon as we can. If there re no further topics to discuss, I'm willing to sign the treaty first," Cu spoke. The meeting had come to a peaceful end. There would be no war. The treaty was signed without interference, and still there had yet to be any signs of the rumored assassins. Things were going gre-

"My lord!" the female bodyguard spoke as she pulled the younger siblings to her. Nobunaga had already moved likely having sensed the enemy. (Y/n) himself had already taken action and appeared in front of Prince Cù just as the assassin did. He caught the chains of her weapon before the blade could reach the prince's neck. With one tug, he yanked the assassin forward causing her to yelp. She had done well to sneak into the Hotel Camelot, but her combat prowess was not well adapted to assassinations for she had taken a far too easy to counter approach. Mordred had entered the room when the child assassin first appeared, but the situation was already handled.

"A child?" Cú could be heard saying as the girl crashed to the floor. The hood of her cloak fell off her head revealing her long purple hair and tears of frustration.

"I don't like harming children, so stay down," (y/n) warned. He hadn't hesitated to aim his quickly drawn gun at the girl's face although he had no intention of pulling the trigger. Before she could try pulling her chain again, he shot at her hands, missing on purpose and still getting the recoil reaction he wanted. "What did I just say," he growled.

"What type of organization sends children to do their dirty work?" Cú seethed.

"Only one. I'm surprised they didn't send Jack. Quite relieved actually," (y/n) answered.

"They did send Jack," Mordred spoke as she went on high alert again. (Y/n) muttered a curse as gas began to enter the room.

"Okita, take my brother to safety," Nobunaga ordered her guard before covering her nose.

"It's not drugged. The gas is a distraction," Mordred informed as she pulled her gun from her suit as well. They were familiar with how Jack operated and not once had that child ever changed their methods. This assassin was one of the few in the world that could infiltrate Hotel Camelot and was likely the reason why the new assassin had been able to get in as well.

"Mommy didn't want us to harm the pretty lady. Mommy only wants the dog. Kill the dog. Mommy will be happy and reward us," Jack's voice could be heard coming from the fog.

"Dog? Me? Seriously, why?" Cú mumbled.

"Lord Nobunaga, I advice that you and your company leave the premises. It will be difficult if Jack changes her mind. I mean no offense but-" (y/n) swerved to the side and shot at Jack as she darted from out of the still growing fog. "This assassin is no joke." Thankfully. Lord Nobunaga listened to him and retreated with her guard and brother. The first assassin was still within sight, and (y/n) still had the chain of her scythe in hand. She was slowly inching her way towards him, but with Jack there, he couldn't do much to stop her.

"Cú, stay close to Mordred. If you touch her, she'll kill you, so try to avoid that," (y/n) spoke. The Celtic prince looked like he wanted to question that last part, but did as he was instructed. Again Jack lept from the cover of the gas, this time going directly for Cù. She missed. Mordred scraped the side of Jack's face with one of her three consecutive and eerily accurate shots. The assassin stopped short of Cú and retreated into the shadows again.

"Lily, this is no fun. Come play with us. It'll be fun that way," Jack called from the fog. Her voice was constantly coming from a different place making it hard to pinpoint her. (Y/n) weaved just in time to catch hold of Jack's wrist as she wisked past him. He had to let go of the chain, but he trusted that Mordred would stop the first assassin.

Her name, or at least her alias, must have been Lily. Whatever the case, she regained her weapon and lept right at (y/n) who was still attempting to subdue Jack. The feral child was doing everything she could to try cutting anywhere vital. Mordred skidded into Lily's path, surprisingly the assassin with how quickly she had appeared. "He said, stay down!" Mordred said as she caught the scythe blade, planted it into the ground, pulled Lily forwards using the chain, and promptly kicking the girl in the gut while she was in midair. If (y/n) wasn't used to it by now, he would have winced at Mordred's merciless. "I've got no problem kicking your ass, and don't you forget it," she spat.

"Leave Lily alone! We just wanted to play!" Jack cried as she was being restrained with (y/n)'s tie which he had taken off to use as temporary cuffs for the lethal child.

"You two are something serious huh," Cú commented. He seemed rather calm despite the situation. "Beating up little girls with knives and all..."

"It's not like that, your highness. These are skilled assassins who were after your life. We can't let our guard down, even for children," Mordred spoke. She seemed to have a bit of remorse for Lily as she restrained her. Just when they thought this was all over, a new presence was noticed.

"Best security my ass. This is the third one tonight," (y/n) thought. He sat Jack away from Lily just in case the two tried anything. "We know you're there. Show yourself!" Only a laugh came in response. A noticeable shadow made it's way towards Prince Cú. Mordred was quick to draw her gun on the new arrival, and Cú dodged the speeding figure. (Y/n) realized a moment too late that this guy was not after Cú at all. "Crap," he hissed. Mordred seemed to notice too since she stood in this individual's way. They were all startled to see the man suddenly surrounded in electricity that crackled as a warning of its danger.

The mysterious man seemed entirely unharmed despite how obviously high the voltage was. Mordred had no choice but to avoid his attack as he swung his arm at her. Even though she dodged the blow, the electricity still made contact, zapping the arm of her suit. She hissed in pain and raised her gun to fire at him, but the electricity covered individual was faster and avoided the attack.

(Y/n) didn't hesitate to go after the individual who deactivated the source of his electricity and grabbed the two assassins that started this whole mess. (Y/n) couldn't see them very well in the fog, but he could at least make out the third guy's silhouette. "I'm not letting you get away with that!" He had to get them back no matter the cost. Getting just close enough to have them within reach, (y/n) made an estimate in how close he was to catching hold of them. He was so close, so very close to reaching them, but then the third assassin suddenly jumped up to who knows where and truly vanished in the fog this time. They had escaped and the fog was quickly clearing.

"I lost them..." he muttered when he returned to Mordred and Prince Cú.

"Hey, you did what you could. The main thing is that you kept me all safe and sound, right? That's gotta count for something," Cú said. He gave (y/n) a light pat on the back.

"No, not the assassins. I didn't think we'd be able to capture them and keep them detained. Jack always gets away regardless," (y/n) sighed. He looked over to Mordred in apology leaving the poor Celtic prince in confusion.

"What are you sulking about then?" Mordred was also confused thinking that there couldn't have been any other thing to have lost...

"I...couldn't get the ties back." (Y/n) scratched his head a bit. "They were really important."

There was silence for a moment before Cú broke into laughter. "You were worried about the ties?!" The prince seemed to really find this to be the most hilarious thing he'd ever heard. "You're strange aren't ya. Can't believe this..." he mumbled once he his laughter died down.

"It's just a tie. I can always get you another one," Mordred muttered. She knew the significance of the simple piece of fabric that (y/n) had just lost. She had given it to him as a gift so that he'd have one that matched her own blood red tie which was now also lost. He was still pretty upset about losing it, but he didn't let that get in the way of following the rest of the necessary precautions for the incident.

Once Prince Cú and Lord Nobunaga's entire party were confirmed to be safe, they were given to a different duo of agents until their departure. Alteria, the boss of the whole business, had ordered (y/n) and Mordred to rest up for their next assignment. Having to deal with assassins was stressful enough as it was.

"Are you still upset about that tie?" Mordred asked as she followed behind (y/n) to his room.

"Your quarters are on the other end, Mordred. You know the rules," (y/n) ignored her question.

"I've broken this rule hundreds of times and you never stop saying that!" she complained.

"I don't want you to be put on probation. It gets boring without you here," he quietly admitted. He stopped at his door and faced Mordred to find her grinning at him. "What?"

She held up a hand and you'd never guess what was in it. Yep, a tie! "Don't lose it this time," she said. (Y/n) returned her grin with a smile as he allowed Mordred to put the tie on him. When she was done, he pulled her into a hug trapping her in place. "Oi, let me go," she laughed.

"Just let me break the rules a bit longer," (y/n) muttered before resting his head onto hers. Just a little more time with her was all that he wanted.. Every staff member was equipped with a stunning suit, extreme training, combat knowledge, and a standard gun. But only Mordred and (y/n) were the ones equipped with matching ties to serve as a warning of sorts.

I swear I don't know anything about alcohol at all. Never been to any fancy places like that. I swear it. I'm going to attempt to add more Mordred with less plot and more relationship next time...unless the plot isn't minded. I dunno, I'm trying...

Oh and servants included were Jack the Ripper, Medusa Lily, Edmond Dantes, and a brief mention of Artoria Alter.
