Chapter 2 | Trouble

I'm currently on vacation, which explains the late update.
Since I don't have my laptop with me, I can't use the spelling checker I normally use. If you see any errors, please tell me :)
Also, I did some research for this chapter so let me know if there is anything that's wrong.
Enjoy!

4 months

Asami blotted and squeezed his hair as dry as possible with a towel, letting the cloth absorb the moisture. It's been a long time since Madara last let her dry his hair, but when Asami asked him if she could do it, he took up on her offer.

Asami tossed the towel over her shoulder and started to brush his hair with her hands. His soft locks felt nice against her fingers and a small, satisfied smile played on her lips. Gently, she swept his hair over his shoulder and leaned forward, pressing a lingering kiss against his bare back. ''All done.'' She whispered, trailing one of his scars with her fingers.

Madara let her do as she pleased for a little longer, feeling her run her hands through his hair and caress his neck and shoulder. His warm skin felt satisfying for her fingers were as cold as the cool breeze what was blowing outside in this wintery weather.

Slowly, Asami ran her hands up his back, over his shoulders and down his chest. She gently lay her chin on his shoulder and closed her eyes, simply enjoying his presence. Never could she get enough of being this close to him, nor would she ever get tired of him. For these last 2.5 years, she was stuck in a house with the obstinate Uchiha, and she loved every second of it, apart from their little arguments of course.

After a few more seconds, Madara decided to stand up from the bed, untangling himself from Asami's arms.

"Keiji will be here soon." He said, taking a plain black shirt from the closet and pulling it over his head. "I'm going downstairs."

Asami simply hummed, but she felt a bit disappointed that he already left her arms. She absolutely relished moments like these, just the two of them together, doing nothing but lying on bed and enjoying each other's company.

Madara ran his hands through his hair, combing it with his fingers. "I'll be going then." He said.

This time, he didn't get a reply at all, no hum or any verbal response. He looked over his shoulder and saw Asami still sitting on the bed, glancing at him with a familiar look in her bright green eyes.

Madara sighed and turned around, which brought a somewhat cheeky smile to Asami's face. His big and rough hands took her face, tilting it up as he leaned down. Asami's eyes fluttered closed for only the few seconds the kiss lasted.

"Can you say hi to Keiji for me?" She asked softly once had pulled away. "In case he leaves before I'm done showering?"

Madara nodded and retracted his hands, letting them hang next to his body. "Call me if you need anything."

"I'll be fine." Asami tried to reassure him, getting off the bed with Madara's towel in her hands. "I just wasn't really feeling well last time I took a shower."

Madara grimaced and firmly took her shoulder. "Just do it."

Asami didn't like the way he sounded, so serious, with a stern tone. It made her feel like he was treating her like she wasn't taking it seriously, while she was. Swallowing thickly, she placed her hand over his and took it off her shoulder. "I will." She murmured. "As if I want that to happen again."

Madara's jaw visibly clenched, and Asami felt uncomfortable at how the mood made such a huge turn at just a few words. Letting out a deep sigh, she gave his hand a gentle squeeze and managed a smile. "I'll call you, okay?"

Madara nodded curtly and the tension tangibly lessened.

Asami pursed her lips and leaned closer to him, pausing only once before she overcame her hesitancy. After pressing a quick kiss to his cheek, she gave his back a few pats. "Now go, Keiji will be here soon."

Madara's lips parted for a moment, as if he wanted to say something, but then closed again. After nodding again, he turned and left the room, closing the door behind him.

Asami pressed her lips into a thin line, wondering if she her soft words and thr affectionate gesture was enough to quell his irritation. She hated it whenever he was in a bad mood, especially if it was because of her.

Sighing, she walked over to the closet and took out some clean clothes and undergarments which she was going to wear after the shower before she closed the doors.

When Asami entered the bathroom, she turned on the lights and closed the door. She dropped Madara's towel in the laundry basket and put her clean clothes somewhere where they wouldn't get wet before she started stripping herself of the clothes she was wearing and threw these into the laundry basket too.

Turning on the shower, Asami waited until the water was her desired temperature and stepped under the shower head.

The feeling of the warm droplets eased her muscles and made her close her eyes in delight.

Asami increased the heat of the water and ran her hands through her hair and down her body until they reached her swollen belly. Her lips curled into a smile at the thought of having another baby inside her.

She had always wanted a second child, but never thought she'd be so lucky to conceive again. She wasn't even sure if Madara wanted it, so she waited. Waited until she thought it was the right time to ask him.

Asami could remember it very well; how much her hands were trembling, how her voice wavered when she spoke the words. Never had she thought that it'd be so nerve-wracking to ask Madara is he wanted another child. She was scared of his answer.

Asami expected a no, while she wanted a positive answer very badly. His true reply was neither her expectation or what she hoped for. He needed to think about it, and Asami understood that.

It was financially possible, so that wasn't the problem. When Mito found out just how much money Keiji and Kaede were spending on the supplies for her younger sister, she decided to open her wallet as well and give Asami quite a sum of money every month.

What Mito didn't know, was that her generous donations were for three, soon four people, instead of just two. It was unfair not to let her know where her money was going, but that was a feeling of guilt that Asami would have to live with.

After a few days of thinking, Madara reluctantly agreed. He seemed unsure, like he hadn't made a definite decision yet. Asami didn't want any regrets, so she gave Madara some more time to give it more thought.

Asami's smile grew even bigger when she was reminded of the tremendous amount of joy she felt when Madara gave his final reply. He still didn't seem totally convinced, but that was fine. How was he supposed to know what it was like if he never experienced it before? There'd always be some doubt.

Asami exhaled shakily when she started to feel a bit giddy. The scaringly familiar made her feel nauseous. Trying to control her rapid breathing, she reached out for the shampoo bottle which was in the holder, but pressed her hand against the wall instead when an incredible wave ofď dizziness hit her. She swallowed thickly and blinked rapidly, as if that would help let the black spots in her vision vanish. "Madara!"

Her ears started to ring and her limbs started to feel numb. She wanted to call his name again, but blacked out before she could even open her mouth.

.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.

Madara pressed his lips together as he pulled one of his shirts down to Asami's waist. After carrying her out of the shower, he only dressed her with one of her panties and his shirt. Since she still wore relatively tight clothing, he decided to use his own instead of struggling to get one of her shirts over her head.

Luckily, she didn't seem to have hurt herself during the fall, but she could still feel sore somewhere or have hit her head.

A few knocks on the door made Madara turn away his head from the unconscious woman. "You can come in now." He spoke, letting his hand rest on Asami's waist.

Keiji slowly, almost hesitantly, opened the door and peeked into the room. "Is she awake?"

Madara looked back at Asami. "Not yet." He said. "And Kouta?"

Keiji closed the door and approached his fellow Uchiha and the Uzumaki. "Still asleep on the couch."

Madara wanted to reply to that, but a groan from Asami made the two males turn their attention to her immediately. Madara pulled her a bit further onto the bed as Asami's eyes fluttered open and looked around the room. She didn't say anything as she tried to roll over, out of Madara's hands, and tried to get up, but stopped when her head started to throb painfully.

"Asami-san, you should take it easy!" Keiji urged, taking one of her shoulders in his hand to support her.

Madara clenched his jaw and helped Asami sit up. "How are you feeling?"

Asami reached for her head and licked her dry lips. Her hair was still dripping wet, and the clothes she was wearing weren't much dryer. "I have a bit of a headache." She murmurs softly. "And my elbow hurts. But aside from that, I'm feeling fine."

"You must have hurt yourself during the fall." Keiji said, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "What exactly happened?"

Asami tried to remember. "I just went to take a shower," She started slowly. "And then I fainted. That's all I can remember."

"Did you eat and drink?" Keiji asked, giving Madara a quick glance.

"A had a late breakfast a few hours ago." Asami replied, rubbing her elbow, and she interrupted Keiji before he could even speak. "And I know I need to eat small meals throughout the day but I really wasn't feeling well and I wasn't hungry so I thought I could skip it for one day."

Keiji sighed and stood up. "That's probably the cause. You need to eat and drink frequently, especially before taking a shower." He explained. "I'd also advise taking just warm showers instead of hot one and you need to make sure that the bathroom is ventilated enough so the steam doesn't stay inside."

"And how do you know all this?" Madara grunted. "I thought Kaede was the medical ninja here."

Keiji pursed his lips before he spoke. "It's because this also happened to Kaede when she was pregnant that I know this."

Madara narrowed his eyes, not liking how he was just assuming things. "And how do you know that Asami fainted for the same reason?"

Keiji sighed and put his hands in the air. "To he honest, I'm not sure. It's just a guess." He spoke. "But Asami-san can try this. If it helps, it helps and if not, then we'll have to look what really causes it."

Before Madara could say something again, Asami placed her hand on his leg and gave him a warning look which told him to say nothing more before she turned back to the other Uchiha. "Thank you Keiji-san, I'll definitely follow your advice." She said softly. "It was frightened to just pass out like that so I really don't want it to happen again."

A little smile appeared on Keiji's face. He was glad that Asami at least appreciated his advice, though he had expected Madara's reply. Keiji knew that Madara didn't want to wait and see, but wanted to know. "I put the supplies on the kitchen counter. I'll go back now and speak to Kaede about this as well. I'll let you know if she has any other ideas about this."

Asami nodded thankfully and gave Madara's leg a squeeze, as if she was telling him to also show some gratitude, but he didn't. "I really wish we could do something for you, since Kaede and you are always caring for us." She mumbled softly.

Keiji rapidly shook his head. "It's fine, really!" He said swiftly, turning his gaze to Madara. "You're my friends, my family. I'll happily help you out at any time."

.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.

Asami let her fingers run over her bare stomach. She dried her hair and changed into different clothes after Keiji had left. She just really wanted to go to sleep, but the headache which would just not cease kept her awake.

The door opened, and Madara appeared.

"Is Kou in bed?" Asami asked, moving a bit to her side of the bed to make place for the Uchiha.

Madara simply nodded and closed the door. "He is." He replied. "And how are you feeling?"

Asami pulled down her shirt and sat upright. "I feel perfectly fine aside from the headache."

Madara narrowed his eyes, as if he didn't really believe her, and lay down on the bed.

Asami gave him a playful push before she lay back down next to him. "I'm not lying!" She pouted. "I'm really fine now." Asami placed her hand on her belly again and smiled, but it wasn't a happy one. "This one is just giving me a hard time."

It was true. She had never experienced this much nausea, back pains ane other complaints before. She had also never fainted like this before.

It was tiring and scary, but this child definitely be worth all the trouble
