Back to work

Every day it was the same shit.
I would get up early to visit Sasuke, hoping to have some alone time. But Sakura is always there.
She never wants Sasuke and I to be alone. This is hopeless.

10:51 AM, Friday

Sasuke was discharged, I came over to help him because he was still weak to move around freely.
But as usual, Sakura would be there.

I held onto Sasuke's arm as he took his first few steps out of the hospital.
"It's fine. I can manage on my own." Sasuke grunted, being his usual and arrogant self.
"But Sasuke.. You-"
"I said it's fine." Sasuke shrugged my hand off him, claiming independence.

"Yeah, Naruto. It's fine." The pink haired woman's voice was feigned with concern and friendliness.
I sighed softly to myself, Sasuke is being so cold to me.
Does he not have any feelings towards me?

The man entered the taxi, along with his "wife", returning home. No business for me to be there.
So I just waved them off, but before the vehicle could accelerate I knocked on Sasuke's window.
He looked up agitatedly and rolled down his windows.
"Yeah?" He rested his arm on the window pane.
"Say.. Sasuke.. I'm kinda short on cash. Do you mind if I start working for you again?"

"Again?" Sasuke tried to dig into his memory but when he couldn't recall he brushed it off, looking even more annoyed. "Yeah, whatever. We're best friends right?"

"Right.." I faked a smile.

"See you on Monday." My love patted me on the arm before giving me a killer grin. He rolled up his windows without glancing once more at me.
My eyes followed him all the way until his taxi disappeared from my line of sight.

I felt so lonely.
This is torture.
One moment I had everything, the next I was left with nothing.

He was my everything.

I offered to work for him, thinking I could spend more alone time with him. Without Sakura interfering.

The weekend was an extremely painful time for me. I've never felt more empty.
Even though I moved back in with Kiba, things have never been the same.

We were so distant as well.

7:10AM, Monday

I didn't know if I was excited or nervous, but I was super early.
I still remember the only day I worked at his place.
I giggled to myself remember these silly memories.

But then got disappointed when I opened the front door and noticed it's entrance was empty.
That's right. He isn't here to fetch me.

He doesn't remember me.

7:27AM, Monday

I reached the office, looking a little more formal than the last time I was here as a garbage boy.
I was wearing a button up shirt paired skinny jeans. It's all I have to be honest, I don't have fancy clothing.

I felt so out of place without Sasuke to guide me. Even the receptionist thought I was at the wrong place by looking at my lost expression displayed on my face.
"Sir, can I help you?" She asked nicely as if talking to a client.
"Uh.. I'm waiting for Sasuke Uchiha." I nervously replied. Why is someone so average like me looking for this big shot? I must look silly to her.

"Oh! Our boss?" She checks a folder filled with piles of paperwork. "But he isn't meeting any clients today." She looked up from the desk, confused.

"Um, it's my first day of work here." I scratched my head, feeling even more unworthy.
"That's weird.. Mr.Uchiha didn't mention anything about a new worker.." The receptionist continued the flipping of her documents.

"I don't have to report everything to you." Sasuke entered the building, interrupting our conversation.
He reminds me so much of before we were in a relationship.
So arrogant yet so cold..

I miss that warmth.

"Come on, let's go." The boss directed me into the office.
"Y-yes, yes. Of course!" I greeted him with a huge smile, pretending to be my usual self. I was hoping that he would fall back in love with me again.

7:52AM, Monday

I'm guessing I'm not a garbage boy anymore.
"I don't have any available desks right now, so I have set up a temporary station in my office for you." My boss opened the door to his office, and memories of the last time we were here flashed back to me.

I almost cried.
"Are you sure I won't be troubling you?" I looked into the room, at the new work desk in his huge office.
"It's fine." He took a seat on his leather couch, staring at me.

I took a sit at my new desk. Wow. This feels fancy! I feel like a boss!
"What?" After a while I finally noticed his eyes were on me.
"I'm tired, get me some coffee."

"I'm not your personal assistant." I folded my arms, offended by his rude demand.

"You're very wrong, sweetheart." He smirked at me, leaning back on his sofa.

I never understood how I could live around him..
He's getting on my every nerve!
