The ocean was calm today. The sky was clear and a heavenly blue. The sun stood high and mighty in the vast open space.

I loved the view. Not a single ship in sight. Just the blue ocean and I.

Of course, below the surface are the multitude of sea life such as fish and whales. But up here, I'm alone.

Unfortunately, I prefer to be alone with my dad... but he's gone.

Today is another day of the search. It's been like this for 7 years now. He left when I was 10.

I never met my mother. That's okay, though. With no memories means no feelings, and I can't miss someone I've never met before.

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. The salty air filled my nostrils. I would never get used to this.

I slowly leaned backwards, deciding to, for the time being, relax and float on my back. My tail was still submerged in the lapping waters.

I didn't realize I dozed off until seagulls were pecking at my hair.

Angrily, I shouted and swung at them with my claws. Though they were webbed and great for swimming, they came with dagger like nails as dark as the night sky.

I hissed and completely sunk under water, preventing the pests from bothering me any further.

I swam down to the see floor, which wasn't far as I had, unintentionally, drifted close to the shore. Which shore, I don't know.

I didn't have to find my way home. Ever since dads disappearance, I've been on the move in search of himself I've even gone as far as the Atlantic Ocean.

I don't think I'll ever go back there. Too cold.
