When the adults finally left them be Dal and Clara had the freedom to do a lot more. Like tell Percy. Finally.

The twins were just barely turning seven, so time where their mom wasn't always watching was hard to come by. Finally, when she left them begrudgingly in Gabe's care they had their chance.

Clara didn't even have to teach Dal how to roofie the man yet. He just knocked himself out all on his own. Eyeing the drunken mess Dal grabbed Percy's hand and dragged him to their room.

Their room might have been just big enough for a single bed and a cramped dresser, but there were two boys in this household. A second hand bunk bed was crammed into the room, the top bunk just barely two feet below the water stained ceiling. Stuffed under their bed are plastic bins stuffed with their books, toys, clothes, and shoes.

"C'mon, I wanna tell you something." They rushed into their room and closed the door before jumping onto the lower bunk together. Percy giggled as he landed, prompting Dal to giggle as well. The two were sweet boys and moments like these made Clara the happiest. Her Percy had been hardened by war and Tartarus for most of her knowing him. It was nice to see him so young and carefree.

Percy had a strange understanding of his older brother. To him Dal was something better, someone special. Percy was just a kid, but Dal was special. He remembered everything he saw, and learned like he had his own private tutor.

Then again, the two of them had the attention spans of goldfish. And reading hurt their heads.

But Daedalus Jackson was something else. Because Percy knew that Clara was there and that she was real. He didn't tell anybody, even when Dal began to claim she was gone, but whenever Clara spoke Dal's eyes would flash dark brown. It wasn't super noticeable, a change from dark colored eyes to dark colored eyes. But if Percy could focus on one thing it was his brother.

So he knew the girl was real, and some part of his brother. Percy was of the mind that Clara was like a sister to them both. A sister without a body of her own or something.

Clara thought of the two similarly, and almost didn't want to break up their laughter with her life changing news. But she knew that more time to train meant a longer, safer life for Percy.

But all good comes to an end.

Go on Daedalus, it's time to tell him now.

All right Clara.

Dal sat up suddenly and pulled Percy up from where he was still laying.

"C'mon I still gotta tell you my news." He said, excitement leaking into his voice at the thought of sharing the news with his brother.

"Okay i'm listening!" Percy giggled, facing his brother with a huge grin plastered on his face.

"You know how I remember everything I see and hear right?" At his brother's nod Dal grinned and continued, "I remember what our daddy looks like, and his name."

His brother gasped and stopped giggling.

"You know who daddy is?" He asked, hope pouring out of his mouth.

"Mmhmm. And I think I know where he is too!" He waved Percy closer and continued in a whisper. "I think our daddy is the God of the sea momma taught us about.

His name is Poseidon."

"They progress nicely our little heroes" A withered crone sat and cackled at the image in her and her sister's minds. Of the two young boys, oohing over the identity of their sire four years before they were originally to find out.

"Yes, such strong heroes they shall be. A bane or boon to Olympus I see them." The second crone said, measuring out threads for her sister.

The last crone let out a loud, startling cackle and brought her shears up to the deep brown thread.

"Bane or boon indeed."

Snip.
