{9} June, 1953

Elena, Bonnie, and I were standing by the lockers talking. I missed a lot of stuff at the Founder's Ball from what Stefan told me. Stefan put Damon in the cell down in the basement and Damon's been there ever since. I honestly don't know why we can't just shake hands and get along. It would make everything a whole lot easier. But anyway, we were talking when we heard a loud voice.
We all turned toward the voice to see it was Caroline who was passing out fliers. "The sexy suds car wash is tomorrow. The football team and the band have committed. Well, not all the band. Just the ones who could pull off the bikini. I want, in your face, sexy. I mean, it's a fundraiser, for god's sake."
"Unbelievable. It's like nothing happened." Elena said to Bonnie and I. Is this usually what teenage girls do these days? Gossip? It gets kind of tiring hearing about who is going out with who. Can't people just mind in their own business?
"She's in denial." Bonnie shook her head. We all watched Caroline who was laughing with two other girls.
"Hey." I turned to see Stefan standing in front of us.
"Hey. You know, I gotta go. Be somewhere right now." Bonnie said walking away from the obvious tension.
"You know what? I have somewhere to be right now too." I started walking away in the opposite direction of the two. I cannot handle that type of drama today.

I was sitting on the couch in the living room, playing a game on my phone. I was completely invested in the game, but that didn't stop me from hearing Stefan walking towards the door. "And where are you going?" I asked turning around to face him.
He stopped and then turned towards me, "I'm going to Elena's house to make her dinner."
I smirked, "Oh really?" I turned away from him and went back to my game.
"What?" Stefan asked confused.
"Oh, nothing," I said still smiling. He started walking towards the door again and I called out, "Good luck. Don't screw anything up!" Then, I heard the door close. I turned my phone off, getting bored with the game. I brought my feet up on the couch and laid down. I stared up at the ceiling and just started thinking. What I didn't plan on though was falling asleep.

The next day, it was time for the Sexy Suds car wash and I was really looking forward to it, note the sarcasm. I was begged to come by Caroline and eventually to get her to stop begging me, I agreed so here I am now. I was wearing short shorts and a bikini top. I was standing with Bonnie and Matt washing a black car. Matt was staring at Elena and Stefan in slight jealousy.
"Uh-uh, no. None of that tortured pining stuff." Bonnie scolded him lightly.
Matt smiled a little turning to the two of us, "I'm just observing."
"Oh, I'm sure you were," I said sarcastically.
Bonnie had a look like she remembered something. "Tiki! This one's yours." Bonnie pointed to a dark red car. Tiki walked over to it and looked at it in disgust.
"Why do I always get the homely ones? Just to be clear, your car's a P.O.S. I mean, we can wash it, but it's still a P.O.S." Tiki said rudely.
"You don't have to be rude," Bonnie said to her in annoyance.
"Rude is uglying up the road with that junker," Tiki said. The guy tossed his keys into the car and then walked off. Tiki started to fill up her blue bucket while Bonnie stared at her in this trance-like state. I looked at Bonnie confused.
"Bonnie? Bonnie!" I called out to the girl. She didn't show any sign that she heard me though. Suddenly, water shot out of the blue bucket and splashed Tiki. Tiki screamed as the hose shot out water. Bonnie looked slightly shocked at what had just happened.
"Whoa! What the hell?" Tiki shouted.
Matt rushed over with a towel and he grabbed the hose. The hose stopped and Matt held out the towel to Tiki, "Wet and Wild, Tik."

3rd POV:
Meanwhile, Elena was sitting at the table with all of the money. Caroline had left awhile ago to get towels, but she hadn't come back yet. "That'll be $20," Elena looked up at the person to see it was the older guy from the grill. He handed her to money and she grabbed it. "I saw you last night. You were talking to a friend of mine. At the grill?"
"Well, I...I thought it was somebody I knew." The old man said to her.
"Stefan Salvatore," Elena said folding her hands.
"Nah, it can't be. It's just my mind playing tricks on me." The old man said brushing it off.
"Where do you think you'd seen him before?" Elena asked.
"When I first moved here, I stayed at the Salvatore boarding house." The old man replied to her question. Elena looked at him in understanding.
"Oh," Elena said.
"Stefan was just passing through to visit his uncle. I mean, none of us knew he was even here until the attack." The old man explained grimly.
"The attack?" Elena questioned confused.
The old man had a grim look on his face as if remembering. "His uncle got killed. Mauled by an animal in the woods."
Elena looked even more confused, "His uncle? Zach?"
"Mm-mmm. Joseph." The old man corrected her.
"I'm sorry, sir. I don't think I'm familiar with the story." Elena frowned.
"Oh, how could you? I mean, this happened years ago." The old man said to her, confusing Elena more. Just then, Tiki had walked up behind Elena and stared at the old man.
"Grandpa, you gotta go. Mom wants you home. Okay?" Tiki said to him softly.
"Ah." Was the old man's only reply. He turned and started to walk away from the two girls slowly.
"He wasn't bugging you, was he? He's a little alzy-heimer." Tiki said taking the money someone held out to her. Elena stood up and looked after the old man.
"No, he was sweet." Elena walked back over to the older man, putting a hand on his shoulder to stop him. "Hey, sir, I'm sorry. Um, are you sure that the man that you saw, that you knew, his name was Stefan Salvatore?"
"Yes." The man replied. "I remember his ring, his friend, and his brother-"
Elena cut the man off, "Damon and Charlotte?"
"Yeah. Stefan and Damon Salvatore, and Charlotte Fray." The old man replied.
"When was this?" Elena asked.
"It was early June, 1953." The old man replied uncertainly. "Yeah. June, 1953."
