{15} Lexi Comes to Town

***

Like any other morning, I was hanging out in my room. I was looking through my phone when I heard voices from downstairs. I got up, changed out of my pajamas, and went downstairs. I was very happy with the sight I saw in front of me. "Lexi!" I called out. She turned to face me with a big smile holding out her arms. I rushed forward and hugged her. I was so happy to see her seeing as I haven't seen her in forever.

"I missed you, Char," Lexi said as we let go of each other.

"I missed you too," I told her.

After Lexi and I had talked for awhile, her, Stefan, and I was sitting in Stefan's room. Stefan was catching her up with stuff that has been going on here. Lexi said something which made Stefan start poking her to get her to say more. Lexi laughed, "Stop. I don't know, some freak shot at me with wooden bullets. I bail in under sixty. And why is a news reporter hunting vampires?"

"That's what I was saying," I stated moving to sit on the bed with them.

"I don't know who knows about us. That guy did. There could be others," Stefan used his elbows to prop himself up more while he said, "Do me a favor, while you're here, please be careful."

Lexi groaned, "Why stay? I'm headed to New York for the weekend. Bon Jovi in the Garden. 'Wanted Dead or Alive', it's our theme song. It'll be a blast." Lexi said trying to tempt us.

"Do you think he would actually remember us? That was a pretty crazy weekend, huh?" Stefan asked.

I laughed, "Crazy would be an understatement." The three of us laughed.

"We can make him remember us. Come on! Let's go. I mean, what's keeping you here?" Lexi questioned.

"It's a girl," I said with a smirk. Lexi turned to me with a smirk matching mine and then she turned to Stefan.

"I told you, her name is Elena." Stefan smiled.

"Let's hope she's better than the last girl you got all sprung over." Lexi held up a picture of Stefan and Damon's ex, Katherine.

Stefan took the picture away from her, "You didn't even know Katherine."

"'Cause if I did I'd kick her ass. Little bitch," Lexi commented making me laugh. The two of them were now standing up as I still sat on the bed. "Speaking of... Where's Damon?" I looked around the room and I was now curious too. Where was he? It's not like him to not be here. Usually, he's trying to get on someone's nerves.

"Inflicting misery somewhere," Stefan replied. "You gonna be okay here alone? 'Cause I got some things I gotta take care of."

"And I am going to be watching TV because I literally having nothing else to do," I added standing up.

"It's not exactly like I can go anywhere," Lexi pointed outside where the sun was shining brightly in the sky. "And you, Damon, and Charlotte are the only ones with these nifty little daylight rings. I have a mood ring from '75! Trade ya?" Lexi held up her hand showing us the mood ring.

Stefan grabbed her hand, "Doesn't work that way and you know it."

"Yeah," Lexi said.

"A girl can only hope," I said as Lexi and myself were smiling at each other then at Stefan.

"Hey Lex," Lexi hummed. "I'm really glad that you came here."

"What are we doing for your birthday?" Stefan groaned at the question. "It's not every day a guy turns a hundred and sixty-two years old."

"Really?" Stefan inquired.

"Did you seriously think that we would let you get away with not doing anything for your birthday?" I asked him crossing my arms over my chest with a smirk.

Lexi wrapped her arm around my shoulder and turned to me, "I think he did, Charlotte."

"You are sadly mistaken." Lexi and I said together as we looked at him.

Later on that day after hours of watching TV, Stefan, Lexi, and I were in the living room. Stefan was sitting on the couch and I was sitting on the other side of it while Lexi circled around. "So this Elena girl... She'll come around. I'm sure of it. Have you had sex yet?" She asked.

"Okay, do you seriously have to ask that question while I am in the room?" I questioned. Sure, if I were talking about it with someone else then I wouldn't care. But if I was talking about it in front of the guy who is like my brother? No, thank you.

"Yes, this is a very important matter," Lexi said.

"No," Stefan replied to her question.

"Sex always works," Lexi stated. "I mean you'll rock her world so hard with your vamp sex, she'll be yours forever." The blonde smirked as she sat down on one of the chairs.

"Yeah, but see, this isn't about sex or...or compulsion or any of our other tricks. She has to want to be with me on her own terms." Stefan explained to her. Lexi sipped open one of her bags and inside of it were a few blood bags.

"Wow. That sounded all mature and grown-up." Lexi picked up one of the blood bags.

"I'm not getting any older," Stefan commented.

Lexi faked a laugh and drank the blood from the blood bag, "Want some?"

I shook my head while Stefan said, "No. Thank you." I had some blood earlier so I wasn't that hungry.

"Relax, I didn't kill anyone for it. This phlebotomist I went out with a few times, he's my supplier," Stefan had an unreadable expression on his face that Lexi noticed. "Oh, don't judge, okay? Listen, I tried the animal diet; lasted three weeks."

"It doesn't matter. Cause if I started again...I just don't know if..." Stefan trailed off.

"You could stop," Lexi stated.

"Lexi, I'd never judge you," Stefan told the blonde.

Lexi sighed a little, "I'm just jealous of your restraint. I have none. I delight in hedonism. Speaking of which, what are we doing tonight?"

"Funny you should ask," Damon said as he walked into the room.

I turned to him with confusion on my face, "And where have you been?" I asked him while standing up. What I didn't notice was that Lexi and Stefan were giving each other knowing looks from behind me.

"Oh, you know... out." Was all he replied with.

"Well, I wasn't asking you," Lexi said to him.

"There's a party at the grill. You'll love it. Banquettes, Tacky wait staff, All of Stefan's friends." Damon was now standing near Lexi's chair and he had a smirk on his face.

"Yeah, I don't want a birthday party," Stefan said.

"Well, It's not for you. It's a party party. No one's gonna know it's your birthday," Stefan nor Lexi and myself said anything. "Caroline's throwing it," Damon added. I sighed, was he really serious?

"Damon, stay away from Caroline," Stefan ordered him.

"We're friends, it's cool. It's important for the town to see us out and about like normal folk. We need to blend." Damon said with a look on his face. He then noticed Lexi's blood bags, "I prefer mine at 98.6." Damon turned around and left the room.

"Let's Go," Stefan made a face, and Lexi said, "Please?"

I walked over to him and grabbed his arm, "Come on, Stef. It'll be fun. And you know that deep down, you wanna go." Stefan shook his head with a fond smile.

So... Lexi found out about Elena looking like Katherine. She didn't take it well and now Stefan had to explain it to her. Well, he was trying to. He didn't know that much about it either. "You have some serious emotional damage," Lexi said looking at herself in her hand-held mirror.

Stefan shook his head, "No, it's not what you think. She's not Katherine."

"Then they're related, 'cause they can be twins." Lexi placed her mirror beside of her.

"That's the thing... Even we don't know," I stated.

Lexi looked up at the two of us, "You don't know or you didn't find out?"

"No. Maybe. I don't want to know. I have no desire to tie Elena to Katherine," Stefan stated. Lexi sent him a look out of the corner of her eye. "Okay. Yes, yes, the resemblance is what drew me in. But that's it. Katherine and Elena may look the same on the outside but on the inside, they are completely different."

"Oh, so like..," Lexi trailed off as she glanced at me and then Stefan. Stefan gave her a 'stop talking' look making me more confused. What was she talking about? And why did Stefan not want her to say anything?

"Like what?" I asked them. Neither one of them answered my question.

Lexi quickly changed the subject, "So Elena is not a raging Bitch then, huh?"

"No," Stefan smiled and anyone could tell that he was thinking about her. "Elena is... Elena's warm and she's... She's kind, and she's caring, and she's selfless, and it's real. And honestly when I'm around her, I... I completely forget what I am."

I smiled brightly, "Well, well, well, look what we have here."

"You're in love with her," Lexi exclaimed.

Stefan had a big smile on his face like the one on mine and Lexi's, "Yeah. Yeah, I am."

Lexi and I walked into the party at the Grill. Music was playing, people were dancing, and other stuff. I looked around the crowded room to look for Stefan. He said that he would meet us here, but I don't see him. I looked ahead of me to see Damon walking towards us with his usual smirk. "Where's my brother?" He asked us.

"He said he'd meet us here," Lexi replied walking past him.

"Buy you a—" He stopped when Lexi walked away from him.

I put my hand on his shoulder making him look at me, "Better luck next time." I patted him on the shoulder and then went off to find Lexi in the crowded room.
