Chapter five- Berserker's Master

Chapter five- Berserker's Master

A few days earlier-

"Awaken, Mage. Now is the time to perform the summoning," A masked man shook Judar awake.

"Uhhh... Five more minutes," Judar whined, pulling a blanket over his head.

"Now, Judar." The familiar cruel voice of Gyokuen forced Judar to his feet instantly. No way he was denying that tone. Not when there was nothing he could do to defend himself.

He followed them through the mazes that were Al-Thamen's base, all the twists and turns very familiar to him. If he wanted, he could run away without getting lost. He wouldn't get far, though. Gyokuen could stop him easily with her long-range magic.

Judar's body ached. The past few days the Al-Thamen members had been poking and prodding at him more than usual. More tests to make sure he was the perfect vessel. As they entered the summoning room, Judar was filled with dread. This was going to be painful.

"Come here, Judar," Gyokuen spoke, voice sweet as honey. "Stand here and raise your right arm." Judar walked over.

"I know what I need to do," Judar shrugged off her hands that rested on his shoulders.

"Good. Then start." Gyokuen took a few steps back and waited for him to begin.

Judar took a deep breath and braced himself for the pain. Whenever he used magic he could feel the mana coursing through him- in a painful way. He raised his right arm and placed his left over it to keep him from flinching, then began, "Let silver and steel be the essence. Let stone and the Archduke of Contracts be the foundation. Let black be the color I pay tribute to. Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall. Let the four cardinal gates close. Let the three-forked road from the Crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate." He paused, gritting his teeth in pain.

"Go on," Gyokuen urged.

"Let it be declared now; your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword. Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail. Answer, if you would submit to this will and truth. An oath shall be sworn here; I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven; I shall have dominion over all evils of Hell," A white glow began shining from the summoning circle as Judar added on the lines to summon Berserker specifically, "Yet you shall serve with your eyes clouded by chaos. For you would be one caged in maddness. I shall wield your chains."

The light washed over the entire room, and Judar fell to his knees; gasping for breath. When the glow faded, a man in a gray suit with gelled back brown hair stood in the middle of the circle.

Judar pulled himself to his feet, frowning at what he summoned, "This is Berserker? How lame!"

The man tilted his head to the side slightly, and observed Judar. "Are you my master, young man?"

"Yeah, but what the hell are you?!"

"Judar, relax. This is exactly what we wanted. This is Berserker," Gyokuen walked to stand beside the teen. "Tell me, Servant, what is your name?"

"My true name is Dr. Henry Jekyll, Ma'am," He bowed his head lightly. "And whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"

Gyokuen smiled with a fake sweetness, "Don't worry about that. Worry about this-" She placed her hands on Judar's shoulders and pushed him towards Jekyll, the servant catching Judar and placing him back on his feet, "He's your new master, but both of you shall obey my rules. Win me the Grail, Henry Jekyll. I don't care what happens to this boy."

Judar backed away from the servant, ignoring Gyokuen and her remarks, and asking, "Hey, are you Jekyll as in Jekyll and Hyde?" Meanwhile, Gyokuen left back into the maze, followed by her Al-Thamen members.

"...Yes," Jekyll answered almost reluctantly.

"I thought that was just a book..." Judar frowned.

"I believe the story is true, although I have not read it myself."

"So you're Berserker 'cause of Hyde?" Judar huffed, "Maybe you are kinda cool."

"Yes, that is correct," Jekyll sighed. "Although I'd prefer to stay in this form."

Judar raised an eyebrow, "Can you fight in this form?"

"...No..."

"Well then you can't stay in it forever. We're going to be fighting. A lot," Saying it aloud began to excite Judar. He wasn't doing this for Gyokuen. He had his own wishes for the Grail.

"Why are you here with such a despicable woman? And may I ask your name?" Now it was Berserker's turn to ask questions.

"I'm Judar. And I'm not here 'cause I want to be. I wasn't even born a mage, they made me this way."

Jekyll's gaze softened, "You weren't born a mage? How do you expect to control me if Hyde takes over?" He grew worried, "I could lose control easily."

Judar smirked, "That's why I've got these," He raised his right hand.

"Command Seals might not even be enough, Judar. Does that woman realize how dangerous this is?!"

Now Judar was laughing, "Like she cares! Anyway, I've got more than just these three Seals. My body's covered in them. Head to toe. Infinitely."

"Infinite Command Seals...?" This worried the spirit. His new master could compel him to do whatever, whenever without any consequences. It terrified him, and even angered him.

"Yep! Come on, I want to go back to sleep. It's too damn early to be alive," Judar waved for his new servant to follow him, heading back into the maze.
