03 | The Greek God of my Dreams

R O S E

Sunlight filters through the curtains as I try to get comfortable again. My head moving side to side against the plush pillows.

Groaning in annoyance I sit up and feel cold air hit my bare chest. I look down horrified and notice the white sheet wrapped around my body in a vice.

Another groan permeates through the air. The only problem?

It didn't come from me.

I look to my left and notice wavy brown hair messily strewn against a plush white pillow. The mans back muscles flex and tighten as he moves slightly in his sleep, and I shift away from him, pulling the sheet up higher as I stare at his rippling back with wide eyes.

Who the hell is he?

The events from yesterday finally enter my mind and I look to the man laying beside me in admiration.

We?

Shit. What the fuck did I do?

The night comes back in pieces and I groan, my head dropping into my hands.

What didn't I do?

The man from the bar rolls over and showcases his delicious set of hard tan abs. They stretch as his arms move above his head and he lets out a yawn, his jawline somehow still remaining perfect.

I quickly get up, scantily clad in the thin white sheet that use to adorn his bed. Hurrying to look through the room for my clothes from yesterday, I come up empty handed when I can't spot them anywhere but notice my phone on the bedside table, I quickly swipe it up.

When another groan flitters through the air, I abandon the search for my clothing and walk out of the apartment, with the thin white sheet covering my modesty, and holding what is left of my dignity close to my heart.

Goodbye Greek god of my dreams, cheers to never seeing you again.

"Hello?" The person picks up after the second ring, voice tired.

"Reece?" I whisper, peeking down the building hallway as I stand in front of the mans apartment door. Natural light floods the floors as I try to blend in.

It's very hard when the dress I wear is very noticeably a bed sheet, and nothing else.

"Rose?" Reece's voice is incredulous, "Why are you calling me at -" The phone goes silent for a moment. "Six in the morning? That is an ungodly hour. Call me back in five hours."

"Reece." I snap quietly, tightening my fist on the wrapped up sheet. "I need your help."

"Who do I need to kill?"

"Wait I get to kill someone?" Keelie's voice echoes from his side of the phone.

"I need you to pick me up, please?"

"Pick you up? Where the hell- ohhhh."

"Shut it." I snap as his voice turns knowing.

Keelie giggles on the other line. "Was it hot?"

Great I'm on loudspeaker.

"Keelie." I whine, glancing behind me at the door. I put my ear to it to make sure the man isn't awake to see me wrapped in his bed sheet. I really don't want to experience the awkward morning after talk.

"All night long?" Reece questions seriously before he chuckles.

"Please guys, can you pick me up and I'll give you details?"

"On my way." Keelie says before hanging up.

I roll my eyes and send my pinged location to Keelie's number so they can actually find me, my eyes assessing the door I exited.

310.

I  fold my arms in front of myself, leaning back into the wall as a door down the hallway opens.

I keep silent as I listen to their footsteps walk my way.

I cringe back into the door, trying for the picture of nonchalance as a tall man walks past.

Our eyes connect, the mirth in his gaze unmistakable. "Morning." He nods his head, eyes going to the door I lean beside, the twinkle in them knowing.

"Morning." I mumble and tighten the sheet as he continues walking, a chuckle leaving his lips before he turns the corner.

I scowl and glare down at the sheet. I should've made the time to grab my clothes.

Too late now.

I count down the seconds in my mind until my phone buzzes with a text.

'Outside'

I blow out a breath, and look at the time on my phone.

6:18 am.

It's still early, maybe nobody will notice a girl running around in a sheet.

I move, holding the sheet and my phone with a death grip.

The hallway remains silent as I rush, fingers flying to the button to call for the elevator.

It opens and two pairs of eyes meet mine, I smile sheepishly at the women as ones eyes widen and she hastily looks away, the other smirking at me with a wink.

The first harrumphs and crosses her arms and I straighten my back.

The second woman giggles, whacking the first on the shoulder "Lighten up Martha, I see how you are with William."

"Lylah." The first gasps.

"Don't Lylah me, let the girl live, you old hag."

Martha blows out a breath and rolls her eyes. "Whatever."

"If mum were still alive."

"Don't bring her into this." Martha gasps

The elevator door dings, the sliding doors opening and I smile at the two sisters. "Have a good day." I murmur and duck out.

"You too, darling." I hear before a faint 'looks like she's had a good night too' and the sound of a gasp.

I smile and rush through the lobby, ignoring the eyes that follow me from the counter as I reach the doors, swiftly running between them as they open, cold morning air assaulting my skin and causing it to prickle.

I see Reece's car parked on the curb and I run to it, quickly opening the door and climbing in, slamming it behind me with a loosened breath.

"Is that a sheet?" Reece says incredulous from the front seat as Keelie sits in the back. She leans forward, her figure practically spilling into the front of the car.

"Shut up." I mutter.

Keelie doesn't hold in her laugh as Reece pulls away from the curb and begins the journey to my apartment.

"Rough night?" Keelie quips

"Shut up."

Reece nods his head, eyeing me from the corner of his eyes before briefly glancing back at his girlfriend. "Rough morning too."

"Hot night."

"Hard."

"Long."

"All night long?" They quip and look at me with matching grins.

"Please, I'll tell you at brunch?" I promise them, rubbing my temples at the headache that builds.

"You better, we already messaged the group. James is beside himself that he didn't get a front row seat at your walk of shame."

"Hey!" I turn to face Keelie as she types on her phone. "It was more of a walk of pride."

She rolls her eyes and turns the phone my way, camera out.

"Say cheese."

My eyes widen as the photo is taken and Keelie cackles.

"What was that for?"

"Patrick wanted a photo of the designer sleepwear you're wearing. I offered to be paparazzi."

I roll my eyes and settle back in the seat.

Reece glances over at me. "Want me to stop for coffee?"

I give him a grateful glance. "Please."

He smiles at me and takes the next corner.

I close my eyes and holds the sheet tighter as exhaustion pulls at me.

"But in all seriousness, was it good?" Keelie asks.

I sigh, realising she won't give up until I give her something. "Yes." I hiss and rub my head.

"Maybe I can go back for the guys number, I mean I already have his address." She wiggles her phone beside me and I quickly grab it, deleting the message of my pinged location so she can't go back.

"Hey, I was only joking. I wouldn't have gone alone, Zhala would've aswell."

"I can't deal with this." I rub my temples and groan.

"Oh baby, I'm sorry." She murmurs and winds her arms around the seat to squish me back in a hug.

I pat her arm. "Mhmm." I close my eyes and lean back.
