eleven

It was when Jaeyun felt the stares of those around him that he finally got himself together. He called over one of the waitresses, paid for their unfinished food and then stood up.

Part of him felt like he had just ruined their date. He should've just stayed silent and not say anything about Nari. But he also knew he couldn't just ignore her words. "Because he's going to be a dad."

But why would she tell Jaeyun about her pregnancy if Heeseung, who apparently was the father, didn't even know? Jaeyun couldn't help but think that Nari was jealous and just wanted to make sure no one else could have Heeseung. But he had to find Heeseung first, had to talk to him. He wouldn't just give up their growing relationship without even listening to Heeseungs side of the story.

Jaeyun put on his jacket, then saw Heeseung had left his draped across the back of the chair he had been sitting on. He grabbed it, then headed out to look for Heeseung.

Right outside he tried calling Heeseung but of course the call was left unanswered. He couldn't blame Heeseung, though. If Jaeyun had learned one thing about Heeseung it was that he easily began overthinking or that his mind would just shut off when things got too overwhelming.

Jaeyun took a breath. Where could Heeseung possibly have went? He wasn't at their usual spot in the park, right underneath an old oak tree. He wasn't at the ice cream parlor they loved going to. "Where are you, Hee?", Jaeyun asked into the quite of the night.

He checked so many of their usual places but after more than an hour Jaeyun wasn't so sure he'd find Heeseung. Sure, he could just go by Heeseungs apartment but even if he would be there, Jaeyun knew Heeseung wouldn't open the door.

For one last time he decided to check their spot underneath the oak tree and sure enough he soon spotted a familiar figure sitting on the bench. But just as Jaeyun almost reached Heeseung he stopped. How would he approach him? He couldn't just sit down and be like "so, soon to be dad, let's talk about your pregnant ex"

Jaeyun wanted to approach the topic carefully- Heeseung had once opened up about struggling with anxiety since he's been twelve years old. The last thing he wanted to do was trigger Heeseungs already frayed nerves and make things worse.

With a soft sigh Jaeyun looked down at the jacket in his hand. Heeseungs jacket. He walked over, wrapped the jacket around Heeseungs shoulders before sitting down next to him. For a moment he let the silence wash over them. But Jaeyun soon noticed the tension in Heeseungs shoulders, saw the way his jaw clenched and how his fingers fidgeted with the bracelet on his wrist.

Without a word Jaeyun reached out to take Heeseungs hand in his own. He could feel how Heeseung seemed to tense even more at the sudden touch. "Hey, it's alright. Just breathe.", he said, his voice calm and soothing.

They stayed like that for a while until Heeseung slowly began to relax. They still had to talk about everything but right now Jaeyuns only focus was to make sure Heeseung knew he wasn't being judged, to make sure Heeseung knew he wasn't alone.
