Prologue

-3rd POV-

We see a world void of life filled with bodies and swords like a war had just taken place, but upon a lone hill, a beacon of light shines down on one lonely man with golden hair and emerald eyes decked out in blue and silver armor.

This lone man was currently thinking about his previous master as he wondered how her life played out after the war and hope she had an enjoyable life.

The man then sighs before feeling another presence which made him look to his right only to be blinded and when his vision clears, he received information about the Greater Grail while he looks around and immediately noticed that he wasn't in the throne of heroes anymore as he was currently standing in front of a beautiful girl who was looking at him in curiosity.

The male gave her a kind smile which caused her to blush a bit. "I am Saber class servant Arthur Pendragon, King of Knights, I ask you. Are you my Master?" He asked her to which she appeared confused.

"Arthur Pendragon? As in King Arthur of Legend?" The girl asked to which he nods. "W-Well my name is Laeticia and currently I was just speaking to the Holy Maiden Jeanne before you appeared."

At this information, his face shifts slightly as he looked at her. "Another Serva-" And that's when he noticed her presence as he looked towards the window right when another voice speaks to him.

"Arthur-san, I'm sure the Greater Grail has informed you about the faction war between Black and Red."

"And you'll be correct Holy Maiden. But do you happen to know what faction I'm a part of?"

"That's the issue. You're not a part of any faction..."

He sighed softly. "That's an issue all right."

"As you know I am the overseer of this Grail War thus dubbing me as the Ruler class.

Arthur nods as he placed his hand on his chin. "I guess that explains why I feel like I should follow your order...but that doesn't explain why I feel attached to you...like you're my master."

This statement left the room to fall into silence.

"U-Um excuse me Arthur-san?" Laeticia called to him causing him to look at her.

"Yes?"

"Knowing the basics of the Grail War, what is your wish?

Arthur then proceeds to give her a sad smile. "I'm afraid that my wish no longer matter." He states as he leans on the wall while looking out the window.

"Ah, I'm sorry if I upset you." She apologized as she bows.

"No no, it's fine it's all in the past." He told her as he gave her a small smile.

After the moment of awkwardness, Jeanne speaks up. "...Anyway Laeticia-san will you go through with it?" The spirit asked the girl to which she nods without hesitation.

"Yes, Holy Maiden Jeanne. I shall be of power to you."

Arthur watched as her body glowed a bit before she stood up with a serious look.

"Now then Arthur-san" Jeanne started only for Arthur to cut her off.

"Please, just call me Arthur or Saber." He tells her to which she nods.

"Alright then. Arthur when it's just us and Saber around other servants."

"Seems like a plan."

"So Arthur, when you said you felt attached to me like I'm your master, can you explain?"

"Well as you know how servants and masters are connected through the pact via command seals." He paused. "And without a doubt, you carry command seals as you are the Ruler class in case the Heroic Spirits go out of line. But as you know, the Ruler class and the other servants aren't connected in that way like a master and servant correct?"

"Yes, you would be correct Arthur. But still doesn't explain why the grail decided to summon you with me." She mumbled as she looked at his stats.

Arthur Pendragon

Class: Saber
Strength: A
Endurance: A+
Magic Resistance: A
Riding: B
Charisma: B
Agility: B
Mana: B
Luck: B
NP: EX

~His stats are crazy...but then again what should I expect from Saber-class such as him, he does hold the sword of promised victory.~ She thought to herself.

"Well...whatever the case may be, I won't let it go to waste and serve you as your knight." He states as he kneels down causing her to blush a bit as she looks off to the side cursing his 'Charisma'.

She cleared her throat. "Thank you Arthur but let's continue this tomorrow my body needs sleep."

He nods. "Understood Master." He stands up entered his spirit form.

"Oh, and when alone, just call me Jeanne."

"Will do."

She smiled before heading off to bed.

To Be Continued...

Hey everyone, sorry that this was so short. There's only much I can do for this prologue without making random bullshit to fill up the chapter and making time skips which will already lead to a fight...Anyway! Hoped you enjoyed this chapter and hopefully you'll continue to enjoy it as I update this and some of my other books.
