Chapter 4- An ordinary day
Nya's POV
This day was like any other. Except school, that is.. Classes have just started after the 15-day break we got, which was quite relaxing. Well, most of it.
The day hasn't been going so well and it hasn't even properly started. It's like 6AM in the morning and I'm sitting here, trying to keep me from falling asleep. I didn't get much sleep last night, though I'm not sure why. I guess.. bad dreams?
Well, I wouldn't call them bad. They're just.. weird? I always see an anonymous person, a blue string
-which makes me rather uncomfortable- and an airplane. I'm not so sure about this, but I'll tell someone soon. Not sure who, but, it's worth a try.
Once I got into the building, Skylor was already there waiting for me, looking a bit annoyed.
"Where have you been?! We're gonna be late!" She pouted. I hadn't seen her since our last meeting, yet she looked a bit different. She looked more.. tired than usual.
"Well.." I just told her everything. The creep, the dreams, my new friend, everything. She told me it's gonna be fine and even chuckled at the horrible day I was having, but I'm sure that something will go wrong at some point. Or maybe throughout the day. It always does.
"You know what? Let's just go to class." I sighed. I looked in front of me to see the redhead smile and nod at me, pointing to the meeting I had today.
"And yes, I'll tell my brother to come by your house." I groaned as her face lit up. Before she could even say thank you, I dragged her to her class and eventually went to mine.
It was really hard for me to keep up with the lesson, since I was getting distracted so easily. I couldn't stop thinking about, well, everything. I ended organizing my schedule in my mind. After school, I would have to go and tell Pixal that I'll start working tomorrow, since she did call me. I almost fainted on the floor when I was rold that I was hired! My dream job would come true and I haven't even finished college yet!
And after that, I have to go back home to welcome Kai, since he's visiting me today. He's going on a little trip with some of his friends from Ignacia. The main reason he'd come was actually because of Skylor, but, once I told him I felt lonely, he said that he'd come by as soon as he can. Easy to trick, as always.
"Nya Smith!" The professor yelled, cutting off my thoughts. "Since you paid lots of attention today, would you mind telling us a famous scientist?" She raised her eyebrow. I could hear giggles behind me, probably from Violet. Honestly, her giggles are more annoying than her nasty personality.
I snapped out of it and said the first one that came to mind.
"Jay S. Walker." (Yes, that is a real life scientist) I casually said. The professor's eyes slightly widened, as well as Violet's behind me.
"T-that is correct." Was the last thing I heard before going back to my own little world.

Honestly, I can't even believe that I got that question right. Though that name reminded me of something, or someone.
Anyways, I really wanted to stop by Morro's shop to buy some gifts for my brother. I haven't seen Morro in ages, now that I think about it. I wonder if he still decorates everything with ghosts. He just really likes Day of the Departed, I guess.
I went into the shop, which was as always, decorated with spooky stuff.
I just picked up whatever I found -that was in a cheap price- and went to the cashier, which happened to be Morro.
He looked like he was feeding or playing with something. I kind of made him jump by talking to him, but he just laughed it off.
"Long time no see, huh? I see you haven't passed your emo phase just yet." I smirked, which made him playfully punch my shoulder.
"So, what were you even doing back there?" I asked, as I paid for that red scarf I had bought for my brother.
"Oh, this?" He grinned as he rose up a small cage, which had a little bird in it. It had crystal blue feathers, as well as super fluffy white belly that led to the black lines across its face. I stared at it for what seemed like hours, admiring its beauty.
"These birds are called Blue Jay. They are only found in a place called USA,
so it cost me quite a lot to get one. And this lil' fella won't shut up! Their species are very talkative, but sing beautifully." (Yes, that exists as well) He squealed which made the bird jump a bit. I giggled at the bird's behavior as everything up to its color, reminded me of someone. I know I shouldn't been giggling about that someone but I think that just made my day.
"Well, it was nice to see you, but I've really got to hurry. My brother should be at my apartment by now." I said as we hugged and said our goodbyes. I even left him a small tip, without him noticing. He was too distracted playing with Yurei (japanese for ghost), as he called it.
I rushed to my apartment, only to find my brother impatiently waiting for me at the door. I nervously laughed and rushed to unlock the door, as we went inside the mess that was my house.
We sat down on the couch, as I was waiting for him to snap. But he hugged me instead. "I was so worried about you! Why did you come so late?" Well, that was a surprise.
"To buy you this." I grinned as I showed him the scarf. "For the best brother ever." He looked surprised and thanked me, when a small smirk appeared on his face.
"I'm your only brother though.. Do you not love me enough?" He started fake crying teasingly as I punched his shoulder. He groaned, rubbing his arm for the pain to go away. "I love you, yes. But it's tough love." We both laughed.
"I got you a little something as well." He grinned. He opened his backpack and pulled out a doll, which seemed quite familiar. "Remember that boy from kindergarten? Well, I met his parents a week ago and they told me to give you this. They said he picked it up when you left it on your last day there." He said. I remember him being a close friend of mine, even though he was in my brother's class, which meant he was much older than me.
"But, I added a little something as well." He smiled as he showed me a red string tied on the doll's hand. That made me giggle a bit, remembering the lesson he had taught me all those years ago. 'If you've got any problems, just laugh it off!'
We started a very nice conversation, which involved Skylor, my life, Skylor, old friends, parents, oh and did I mention Skylor? I mean I know she's your girlfriend and my best friend, but you sir, should be a bit more interested in my own life.
About an hour later, the doorbell rang only to reveal two young men waving at Kai. "Hello?! Kai! We've been waiting for like half an hour! Are we going?" Kai rolled his eyes and prepared his backpack, leaving me with no idea on what's going on. I looked at them confused as hey slowly noticed me.
"Oh! I'm sorry! You must be Kai's sister. I'm Turner and this is Shade. We're Kai's friends." The auburn haired boy told me taking of his sunglasses. The paler looking boy nodded and we shook hands. Once Kai finally got ready, they dragged him out of the building, so they could finally go to eat something.
Once they left, I could finally be on my own for the day. I contacted my online friends -mainly my newest one-, as I told them about everything that happened today. The rest of the day went pretty smoothly, though I had to sleep early if I wanted to go to work tomorrow..
Phew, this chapter required quite some research. For some reason.. I'll be hiding in my closet now..
C ya!
