Justin
Saturday.
Saturday was the day where I could just chill, drink beer, and watch hockey but that wasn't happening until I went to the store. I needed a few things so it was now or never.
I got dressed and grabbed my keys, heading out the door. I locked it and walked to my destination. I would've taken my car but Saturday is the worst day for a car. Traffic is a complete bitch.
I crossed a few more streets and I was there. I walked in and headed straight towards the beer. I hummed to the music that was playing on the speaker.
I reached out to grab twelve pack when a much smaller hand went for the same one. I look down and saw none other than Lauren.
"Oh, sorry. Here, take it." I hand her the pack of beers.
"Thank you, Justin." She smiles. It's like the sun burned brighter because of her smile.
"Yeah, no problem." I reply.
"Ya know, I've been meaning to come by the diner again." She says rubbing her arm.
"To see me?" I tease, smirking.
She nods laughing. "Yes, to see you."
I couldn't get over how beautiful she was.
"Well, I'm right here. What can I do for you?" I say as if I'm taking her order.
She walks closer, taking off my cap and ruffles my hair.
"Let's hang out. I've got nothing to do today." She says looking into my eyes.
I nod grinning like an idiot.
---
"And this is my sister, Michelle." Lauren shows me a picture of the eight year old girl.
"She's cute." I say. "Yeah, she is like a teddy bear. Do you have any siblings?"
I shake my head. "I'm an only child."
"Don't sweat it, J. At least you didn't have to share anything." I chuckle.
We had been at my place for the last four hours getting to know each other. Turns out, we have a lot in common.
She's twenty two, has a place of her own, likes hockey, eats popcorn and ice cream. She was like girl version of me.
"Hey Justin?" I look up from my feet.
"Yeah?" She sits closer to me smiling.
"Since you know all of these things about me, I think it's time for you to know my number."
She grabs a pen and paper out of her bag and writes down her phone number, handing it to me right after.
"Thanks." I reply. I couldn't help but look at her lips as she talked. I was already falling for this girl.
She nods looking into my eyes.
"It's getting late. I should probably get going. I had fun."
I frowned. I didn't exactly want her to go. Lauren was really fun to be around.
She gathered all of things and stood up. I mimic her actions.
"Wait, how are you gonna get home?" I was trying any and everything to have her around me just little bit more.
"I could walk."
"What kind of a person would I be if I let a pretty girl like you walk home in the dark?" I was being dead ass. I wouldn't feel right letting anyone walk home at night by themselves.
I could tell she was hesitant, but she finally broke.
"Ok, fine. But I owe you." She laughs.
Yes!
"Deal. You ready?"
---
"I really appreciate this, Justin. You my friend, are quite the charmer." Lauren beams as we pull up to her house.
"It was no biggie. We should do this again."
She smirks. "What? Like a date?"
I shrug.
"I'm down. You have my number. Just call me with the details."
I had never met a girl who was so confident. I loved it.
"Ok. Cool." I say grinning. She mimics my actions. "Cool."
She kisses my cheek and gets out the car, walking away.
"Bye, gorgeous." I whisper to myself, driving away.
Little did Justin know, she was saying the same thing as he drove off.
"Bye, handsome."
