Chapter 6
Norman and Ray felt a little uneasy with the Lambda group. It was something they never expected so suddenly, and that it was like a change of pace for either of them.
Vincent pour some tea for them, and that Norman and Ray felt so awkward . But it was Vincent who broke the unsettling situation.
"I'm so sorry that we make you uncomfortable. It's just we never met anyone else from the same farm that Boss used to go to." He said.
"You mean, Emma? I guess it still amazed me that she was able to lead such a group on her own." Norman said.
Ray said, "I guess we should introduce ourselves properly this time since we haven't had the chance to.
I'm Ray, one of the escapees of Gracefield, and this is my brother, Norman. "
"I'm Vincent, in my right, that's Cislo, and on my left, that's Barbara." Vincent introduce the group.
Barbara looked at the boys curiously and then goes to Norman up close and personal .
"So, tell us! What was she like?" She asked. Both of them were confused by her words.
"What you mean, Barbara?" Ray asked her. She said, rolling her eyes, "I mean, tell us all about this person you called , "Emma!"
It's driving us insane since yesterday! It's so weird that she would be cummy with you lot!"
"Oh, well, how to start? Well, Emma was kind, althetic, caring, and she always been smiling and laughing with all of her siblings ever since I can remember." Norman said.
Ray points out, "She intends to go into trouble when she was younger though. Mom always scold her too."
"For real? Wow, that's so cool, it's like she's a rebel . " Cislo said. Vincent concurs, "She never tell us anything about her life in Gracefield. That's why we asked."
Norman blinks, "She changed that much? What's the Emma you guys know now?"
"Cold."
"Serious."
"Empresses."
Ray spits out his tea in shock, as Norman exclaimed, " 'Empresses?' "
Barbara looked at Norman seriously. "Hey. You are not going to change Boss's mind are you, about the plan?
Demons are merciless and cruel creatures, they never should've been existed in the first place!"
Vincent notices how she was terrifying them, "Stop it, Barbara. That's enough ."
She left the room, as Vincent sighs at her behavior. "It was all thanks to her though. We would've died at Lambda if she didn't step in . "
They left them as Ray turns to his brother who was trembling. "You all right?"
"Yeah. I think so, Barbara has the evil expression in her eyes. It's like she really wanted to kill every demon she sees." Norman said.
Ray said, "What you expect? She and the others must've been too traumatized by the events of Lambda.
They had the cycle of hate flowing within them, Norman. It's not entirely easy of letting go of."
The door went open, as Emma notices her siblings. "You been here this whole time? I'm so sorry that I kept you waiting."
Ray said, "It's fine. Actually, Emma, we came here to discuss some intel we have , and that we have some concerns about that drug you showed us."
Emma said, putting her coat down, "You got it."
The trio looked so serious at the situation. "I went to see the Demon Royalty. I made a deal with the demon king.
They have no idea about the drug." Emma said, "It would look like a simple accident that occurs in one of the villages."
Ray said, "You honestly think they would fall for that? It's not like they would be fooled just like that. "
"The drug will be very useful, I assure you. Besides, nobody would suspect it coming." Emma said.
"Emma, there are two demons who would not be affected by the drug . They are really are amazing demons and they don't eat human."
Emma said, "Wait, are you referring to a demon who looked like a little girl? How did you guys know that?"
"We met them two years ago, after we escaped. Why you ask?" Norman asked, curiously.
Emma said, still couldn't believe what she just heard.
"The Evil-Blooded Girl is still alive?"
Don and the others were waiting for the trio's conversation to end. "It still a shock that Emma is really alive all this time, huh?" Nate asked.
Don nods, "Yeah, it still can't wrap myself with that. I'm just relieved that she's all right on her own."
Anna said, "Other than that, I am still worried about her. It's such a big responsibility of maintaining this base, and that Emma really wants to do things all on her own ."
"You don't think something bad is going to happen, right?" Gilda asked the group. She was wavering at the fact her sister has something else planned.
"Com'on, this is Emma we're talking about here. She is on our side, remember?" Don said, "I will support our siblings no matter what it takes."
"Yeah, I know. But I couldn't help but worry." Gilda said.
Norman and Ray looked at her. "Emma, you met them? "
"I've heard rumors about Mujika. She's a savior that her blood make demons be like her, so to speak.
I never met her in person though. Last I heard that she was murdered by the royals, but it seems that seems to be false information."
"So, you mean that she and Sonju have been on the run this whole time, why didn't they say anything?" Norman asked, as Ray thought for a moment before answering Norman's question.
"They feared her existence. The royals tried everything they could to make sure that she would exist in the first place, am I wrong, Emma?"
"Your guess is right as usual, Ray. I am confident that is what the Royals intended to do in the first place.
Hearing that she's alive, she's a threat to our plan now. I'm going to kill her."
Norman reacted quickly to persuade her. "Wait! Mujika and Sonju aren't a threat to us! They're good demons, Emma.
I wanted also to tell you that we shouldn't allinate the demons. It's not right. The future that I wanted isn't all about violence.
And to kill the people around me, it hurts."
"Norman, it's not going to be simple as you think. I should be leaving now." Emma said, closing the luggage that holds the drug.
"Why you being anxious about this? Wait, Emma!" Ray said, watching her.
Norman couldn't hold his emotions anymore, as that he instantly hold her. "Emma, wait. Is this really what you want?
To kill the demons?
You're going to do this, to me, again? Leaving me behind?"
Emma looks at Ray, who was sad by his brother's words.
"Norman, this is for your own good. I'm not going to hold back onto the plan ever." She said.
Norman knew that Emma is determined and stubborn. "Ok. I'll go find them. Give me a week and if I bring them to you, you'll put a stop of the genocide mission."
"You really going to find them, for real, huh? Seven days."
"Six."
"Five days, that's my offer."
Norman said, nodding, "That's fine with me. Five days. "
Emma turns to Ray with a serious tone, "Ray, watch over him. "
"No problem, Emma."
Before they leave, Norman said to Emma, "You don't have to be a god, Emma. You're you. "
The other kids were stunned of what Norman and Ray told them.
"Eh?!?"
"You guys are insane! Finding Mujika and Sonju isn't going to be an easy task!" Oliver said.
Nat said, "It's going to be hard to convince both of them to tell them that Emma is planning to annalite the demons, though."
Gilda said, "Why? Why you and Ray would go all this trouble, again? Norman , you barely kept yourself alive during the two years!
You almost got yourself killed by Lewis, remember? We were worried sick if you would never wake up from it. "
Norman walked towards his sister and held her hands. "Sorry, Gilda, to make you have consent worry about my well-being.
But there is a reason that I want to do this. I want to save Emma."
Gilda asked, tilting her head, "Save Emma, why?"
Ray was the one who spoke up. "She's doing it again. Bearing the situation all on her own, like it's her personal duty to protect us.
She's very sensitive ."
Norman flexed his fists in frustration. "I was the one who was supposed to be shipped that night, not her.
I failed of keeping her safe, I should've known that was her plan to switch places with me. The escape wasn't a true success after she left us to Lambda.
I should help her understand that what she is doing, it's wrong! I want to show her that there are more possibilities together!"
Suddenly, Don laughed at how stubborn their sister is. "Man, after all this time, Emma really hasn't fully admitted her feelings huh? She's never going to change."
"Let's go!" Norman said, as the throng cheers.
Later that night, Emma was doing some of her work, that is, until she felt an episode. She felt the pain in her, as that she coughed up blood from the trauma.
She saw it as that she has to endure it in order to protect her precious family.
"Norman... Ray...
I'm sorry ."
