It was another working day at the asylum as Anne was walking by, hearing chattering and people were working on their tasks, She continued walking until she saw Harleen who was fixing her glasses as Anne smiled at her.

Anne: Hey, Harleen.

Harleen: *Smiles* Hey Anne, what's up?

Anne: Nothing much, just another regular day.

Harleen: *Chuckles* Are you bored or tired of it already?

Anne: Not really, It's a bit interesting, actually. I'm happy to learn about things.

Harleen: Glad to hear about that honestly, Anyways I have to go interview a patient, It's gonna take a while.

Anne: Okay, by the way, are we still gonna stroll around the city after work?

Harleen looked at her, shrugging and frowned a little.

Harleen: I really hope we can, I need to get a lot of things done right now.

Anne: It's okay, Take your time. We can do that next time.

She smiled, understanding that Harleen's work was quite hectic sometimes. Harley smiled and hugged her friend as Anne hugged her back.

Harleen: I'll be going now, Be safe.

Anne: You too, Harley. Be careful.

Harley walked away as Anne was looking at her before she sighed and walked away, Unknown to them, someone was actually listening to their conversation.

[A few hours later]

Work was over as the time was six p.m, Anne was feeling exhausted from work, Harleen was still busy, so Winters decided not to bother her, But she wasn't sure who was going to drop her back home, She didn't want to bother Benjamin either.

Until she saw someone walking by as Anne had a small smile on her face.

Anne: Hi, Dr Crane.

Jonathan: Hello Anne, How was your day so far?

Anne: It was great, thanks. I'm heading back home right now.

Jonathan: I see, Is Harleen already out?

Anne: No, She's busy right now, and I don't want to bother her.

Jonathan: Are you sure you can go alone?

Anne was silent and nodded, Deep down, she was a little nervous, but she had no choice but to get used to it, Crane noticed her expression as he sighed and spoke to her.

Jonathan: I'll come with you.

Anne: Wait, you don't have too-

Jonathan: It's okay, Anne. It doesn't feel right to leave you alone out there.

He patted her shoulder and said that he needed to check something in his office, Crane walked away as Anne was looking at him as she had a smile on her face.

Jonathan was driving around the city as Anne was looking through the window, thinking about something, He glanced a few times as she opened the window and wanted to let the air blow on her face, He looked at her and watched how her hair flowed, He was distracted for a moment.

Anne: This city looks really beautiful.

Jonathan: *Chuckles* It is, How do you feel seeing these tall buildings?

Anne: Not gonna lie, I was a bit scared. I have never seen buildings like that.

Jonathan: I think Wayne Tower shocked you the most.

Anne: Oh, that. What is that place, by the way?

Jonathan: Do you know Bruce Wayne?

Anne was silent for a moment before her eyes lit up, She remembered that Benjamin spoke about it.

Anne: Harley's fiance spoke about him, I heard of his name.

Jonathan: Gotham's golden boy. Billionaire and philanthropist, Most people know him as nothing more than the charming heir to the Wayne fortune.

Anne: I heard that name has history.

Jonathan: Yes, The Wayne name carries history, Sadly, Thomas and Martha didn't last long in this world.

Anne frowned and continued listening to him.

Anne: That's really sad, actually, I wonder how he's doing now.

Jonathan: Nothing lasts in this world forever, And what does he need to mourn about? He has the fortune that he needs.

Anne: Well. . . Money doesn't replace family.

He looked at her for a moment before Crane chuckled a little.

Jonathan: You're too innocent for the world, Annie.

He spoke softly as Anne was looking at him before she looked at the window again, Winters noticed there was an ice cream shop and suddenly felt the crave for it.

Jonathan stopped the car for a moment to let the other cars drive by, He noticed Anne was staring at the shop as he smiled a little.

Jonathan: Do you want an ice cream?

Anne: Uhh, No.

Jonathan: Don't hide it, I can tell you want it.

Anne laughed a little and fixed her hair as He was smiling at her.

Anne: I keep forgetting that you're a psychologist as well.

Jonathan: *Chuckles* I know the mind and body very well, Now let's go and get what you wanted.

Anne smiled, nodding as she was already excited to eat some ice cream, She was also happy to spend more with Jonathan and he had the same feeling as well.

Both of them were sitting by the bench as Anne was eating chocolate ice cream, Crane didn't really buy one for himself as Anne was looking at him.

Anne: Why didn't you get one for yourself?

Jonathan: Maybe next time.

He spoke as Anne was looking at him before she moved her ice cream towards him, Crane stared at her as Winters had a smile on her face.

Anne: Take a bite.

Jonathan: You're such a sweetheart.

Anne blushed a little and smiled at him, He decided to take a bite just for her as Anne smiled at him again.

Anne: See? It's not so bad. Do you want another bite?

Jonathan: No, It's all yours. I just want to see you happy.

She blushed again as he noticed her cheeks were pink, Jonathan smiled to himself and placed a hand on her cheek.

Jonathan: There it is, I like to see you all flustered.

Anne: *Laughs* N-No, I'm not.

He moved closer to her and grabbed her hand as Anne continued smiling at him, blushing by how close he was. He couldn't help but smile at her and continued holding her hand.

Jonathan: Does this make you nervous?

Anne looked at her hand as he was smiling, waiting for a response. Anne blushed a little while smiling.

Anne: Not really. . .

For some reason, there was a little change in the atmosphere between them, despite the loud and busy streets. Jonathan continued holding her and watched her, carefully studying her body language.

Jonathan: I see.

He moved a strand of her hair and gave a soft smile to her as Anne smiled back, The two continued speaking to each other as Anne wanted to know some stuff about psychology and how he does his job, He decided to give a short summary to it as Anne was listening to him with intrigue, excited to learn more things with him.

Soon, Both of them were seen near a small bridge as Anne leaned on the railing and watched the water that was flowing, She was lost in her thoughts as Jonathan spoke to her.

Jonathan: It's beautiful, Isn't it?

Anne: I agree. . . It's really peaceful.

Jonathan: But it reminds me of people.

Anne raised an eyebrow as he continued staring at the water.

Anne: What do you mean by that?

Jonathan: People can seem warm and friendly. . . but there's always something lurking beneath the surface. You can't always trust what you see. . .

She shivered a little as he smiled a little, He liked seeing her nervous and unsettled, But he also didn't want to push it further.

Anne: That's unsettling. . .

Jonathan: Don't worry, Anne. I'll be right here to catch you if you fall.

He grabbed her hand again as Anne looked at him, feeling a mixture of nervousness but safety, She didn't understand why he was speaking like this. . . What was he hinting?

Later on, Jonathan finally dropped her back as Anne was holding his hand and smiled at him, She appreciated his company and enjoyed spending time with him.

Anne: Thank you, Dr Crane. I enjoyed spending time with you.

Jonathan: No worries, Anne, Take care of yourself. You know, I could get used to our little adventures together. . .

Anne: *Smiles* You're a great person, Jonathan. I would love to spend time with you again.

Jonathan smiled and took a few steps closer to her and slowly placed his hand around her waist, She looked at his hand before staring into his eyes as his eyes darkened but kept the friendly smile on his face.

Jonathan: Just wait until you see what else I have to offer~

He pulled her close and placed a kiss on the top of her head before walking away, Anne stared in shock while blushing, He looked at her one last time before getting in the car as Anne was feeling her heart race.

There was something unsettling about him, Yet, She feels attracted to him.
