Two weeks passed, and everything was going smoothly so far, Anne was slowly adjusting to her work life and learned a few new things on the way. She was also starting to get comfortable talking to some people. Harleen and Benjamin have also been taking her out around the city, introducing her to new activities and places.

Benjamin had been relentlessly investigating the case of the killer, searching for clues that could bring him closer to catching the murderer. He had followed up on several leads, but they all seemed to lead to dead ends. Frustrated yet determined, he knew he had to be patient and wait for the killer to make another move, knowing that eventually the killer would make a mistake and leave more clues behind.

Benjamin was seen at home, working on the laptop, He hasn't slept or eaten anything for a while since he was really focused on the case, As Benjamin continued working, Someone hugged him from behind as McFarland's gaze softened as he smiled and turned around to see his fiance.

Harleen: Hey, Puddin.

Benjamin: Hey, sweetheart, going to work?

Harleen: Yeah, I will. Anne's is already there.

Benjamin: I see, Looks like she's comfortable going to the asylum by herself.

Harleen: True, but I'm still gonna stay with her till she fully feels comfortable.

Benjamin: Good, She still needs to adjust.

Harleen smiled and nodded as she looked at the laptop, She knew he was working hard, but she also wanted him to rest up and take care of himself.

Harleen: Hey, I was wondering if we could have coffee together?

Benjamin: Of course, Let me just finish this up.

Harleen: Come on, Benji. You're been working all day. Come and spend some time with me.

Benjamin looked at her and really wanted to spend time with her but he also wanted to focus on the case, However the way she convinced him warmed his heart, She really wanted to be with him for sometime.

Harleen: Please?

Benjamin: Okay, fine, I'm coming downstairs.

She cheered as Benjamin chuckled and got up from his chair, shutting his laptop. Soon, both of them went downstairs as Harleen was at the kitchen, making coffee until Benjamin hugged her from behind.

Harleen: *Giggles* What are you doing, Benji?

Benjamin: What? I'm holding my future wife.

Harleen giggled again as Benjamin continued hugging her before placing a kiss on her cheek as Harley smiled and kissed his cheek.

Soon, Coffee was prepared as the couple were sitting and drinking while discussing the future of their relationship.

Harleen: So, when will we get married?

Benjamin: Very soon, I promise it won't take too long. Let me just finish up a few things.

Harleen: *Smiles* I really can't wait for that day, you know? Spending the rest of my life with you.

Benjamin: And having children's of our own, that would be amazing, right?

Harleen blushed and thought about it as Benjamin chuckled and looked at her.

Harleen: I can already imagine that.

They smiled and continued talking to each other while drinking their coffee.

Benjamin: I'm sure you're going to be beautiful as a bride, I can't wait to see you walking down the aisle.

Harleen: Already thinking about it?

Benjamin: Of course, I wouldn't take my eyes off you.

Harley laughed and rested her head on his shoulder as Benjamin smiled and wrapped his arm around her.

Harleen: The same goes for you. You're going to look handsome as always.

Benjamin chuckled before Harleen kissed him on the lips as McFarland kissed her back. They broke the kiss and looked at each other while smiling.

Alex: *On Call* Hey Selina, There is a surprise waiting for you, outside the door.

Selina: *On Call* I'm coming right now.

She hanged up the call as Alex smiled to himself and felt excited, He continued waiting outside the door until Selina opened the door and looked around until she saw Alex as she had a huge smile on her face.

Selina: Awww, is that my present?

Alex: Yes, beautiful roses for a beautiful lady.

Selina: *Smiles* I wasn't talking about the roses.

Alex smirked as Selina took the roses and grabbed his hand, pulling him towards her house. Soon, they were in the living room as Kyle pushed him to the couch before sitting on his lap as Alex was smiling at her.

Selina: You know, Alex, you always seem to show up just when I'm thinking of you~

Alex: I guess i showed up at the perfect time.

He began caressing her hair as Selina smiled and played with his hair as he chuckled.

Alex: You look really beautiful.

Selina: Aww, I love it when you say that.

Alex: *Chuckles* Are you sure you weren't stealing anything before I came here?

Selina: Mmm, if I did, I want you to punish me for being a bad kitty~

Alex: *Laughs* Selina.

Selina laughed softly as Alex smiled and kissed her ear while she was holding his hand.

Alex: That reminds me, Where are your cats?

Selina: They're all sleeping at the moment.

Alex: Looks like they share the same routine.

She nodded and continued smiling at him as Alex shifted a little from his seat while holding her.

Selina: Is Officer McFarland still getting on your nerves?

Alex: He always does, Benjamin just seems to hate me.

Selina: Why? There has to be a reason.

Alex: *Shrugs* Don't know, He says i give him the creeps.

Selina: Hmmm, but that's what made me into you.

Alex: *Chuckles* There's some things you don't know about me.

Selina: *Raises an eyebrow* Oh really? And that is?

Alex: I'll tell you that later.

Selina: Aww, I'm using my technique? Keeping me in suspense

Alex smiled and shrugged before he kissed her as Selina immediately kissed him back, They broke the kiss and smirked at each other.

Alex: I love you, sweetheart.

Selina: I love you too, Handsome.

She kissed his forehead as Alex smiled at her. Selina took the TV remote and opened the television as both of them decided to watch a show together.

Jonathan was seen at his office, reading a newspaper about the recent murder the police have been investigating, He continued reading while thinking about something, Soon he decided to leave the office and wanted to see Anne.

He continued walking through the hallway until he saw Anne talking to one of the interns as he smiled a little and continued looking at her, Once the intern walked away, Anne was looking at some papers and began walking until she accidentally bumped into him.

Anne: Oh, I'm so sorry.

He smiled as Anne looked at him, When she stood in front of him, He seemed a bit taller as Winters smiled at him.

Jonathan: It's okay, You should be careful, though.

She nodded and continued staring at him, This was the first time she saw him without the glasses on.

Anne: Where's your glasses?

Jonathan: Oh, I forgot about it in the office.

Anne: You still look great without it.

Jonathan couldn't help but smile at her as he shook his head.

Jonathan: Thank you. Anyways, what did you finish today?

Anne began speaking to him about work while showing him the papers that she had, Jonathan was listening to her with interest as Anne went to the office and decided to show him more about the work she has done so far.

[Later On]

Anne was seen walking around the asylum as she heard loud screams which startled her as Winters frantically looked around, It was coming from one of those cells as she shivered and began walking away.

However, as she was walking away. She lost her way back to the office, Anne was confused and noticed no one was around, which confused her.

Anne: I really hate this place. . . .

She looked around and saw an elevator as Winters sighed in relief and went inside, She clicked on a number and waited until it opened, Anne walked out but found herself in an unfamiliar place which confused her.

Anne: Wait. . . Where am I?

It was completely silent, It made her a bit uncomfortable. She continued walking until she saw a rat that was running as Anne screamed and stepped back.

Meanwhile, Jonathan was seen at his secluded lab, where he works on the fear toxin, Nobody knows about the lab except him and Alex.

This rare blue flower is found on the slopes of a tibetan mountai, It was a substance to create the fear toxin, Crane had a lot of these kept in his lab for his work. He also uses the patients around the asylum as his test subjects.

Crane was looking at a syringe until he heard a scream as He turned around and looked confused, He narrowed his eyes and was cautious. No one was supposed to be here.

He quickly left the lab as Crane shut the door tightly and locked it, Jonathan began looking around until he saw Anne who was watching the rat run away as his eyes were widen, How did Anne find this place?

Jonathan: Anne?

She jumped and turned around to see Jonathan as she was confused and shocked.

Anne: W-Wait, what are you doing here?

Jonathan took a moment to study her and could tell she was really confused and scared. She hasn't seen the lab yet, so he knew he could make up a lie.

Jonathan: Oh, you're not supposed to be here, How did you find this place?

Anne: . . . . I lost my way and found the elevator. . . But it led me here.

Jonathan could tell she was telling the truth as he smiled a little and wasn't really upset at her.

Jonathan: It's okay, Anne. I'll take you back up.

Anne: B-But what is this place?

He grabbed her hand and pulled her close, knowing she was a bit scared. Anne felt a little comfortable as he began walking to the elevator.

Jonathan: It's restricted for a lot of people, I have a lab to test some pharmaceuticals for high-risk patients, and I can't allow anyone to enter this place.

They both got in the elevator as Anne nodded and stayed close to him, He smiled a little and caressed her hair as Winters was looking at him. For some reason, there was something odd when he said that. . . It was soft but had a hint of something dangerous.

Anne: Sorry. . .

Jonathan: It's okay, You didn't know about it.

They both waited for the elevator to open as Anne was looking around, She noticed Jonathan was staring at her as Winters looked at him.

Jonathan: Do you trust me?

Anne was silent as he waited for her response.

Anne: I do. . .

He smiled a little and pulled her close as Anne was looking at him, Jonathan placed a hand on her waist as she blushed a little.

Jonathan: Good, because it's important to know who you can trust here.

There was an unsettling hint to his words, but his touch was so gentle that Anne found herself leaning towards him.

Once the elevator opened, They began making their way to the office as he continued holding her hand.

Anne: Thank you, again. . . I'm really sorry for going there. Am I in trouble?

Jonathan: No, you're fine. Just remember not to go in there again and one more thing. . .

He moved her hair aside and leaned close to her face.

Jonathan: You shouldn't tell anyone about this, This stays between us, okay?

Anne was silent before she nodded, She completely trusted him as Jonathan smirked at her, knowing that she had trusted him.

Jonathan: Good girl. . . You can leave now.

Anne was caught off guard with what he said as she blushed a little and smiled before walking away, but he kept staring at her until she was gone from his sight.

Maybe he wanted to be a bit closer to her.

Benjamin was seen visiting Gotham General Hospital as he was looking for someone to speak too, He noticed a nurse walking by as McFarland stopped and spoke to her.

Benjamin: Excuse me, I'm looking for any admissions that might be connected to recent attacks. Do you have a list of patients with injuries that match. . .

He began showing her pictures of the victims as the nurse was staring at the pictures before she looked at him.

Nurse: Are you referring to the recent string of murdered victims?

Benjamin: Exactly. I need to know if there are any connections to the victims

Nurse: Well, there was a woman admitted last night, deep cuts along her arms. She mentioned a man who had been following her.

His eyes were widen as Benjamin asked her a question.

Benjamin: Did she say anything about him? Any description?

Nurse: Just that he was always watching, but she never got a good look at him.

McFarland was thinking about something until he nodded and thanked the nurse before leaving the hospital, He got in the car and began thinking about what the nurse said.

Benjamin had an idea and he might get a lead.
