The one with 'Apptraction'

"Noo Nooo.. That's not fair"  Rose whined to Hugh.

Her brother had his reservations when she told him about the wedding gown fiasco and a photographer wanting her to be his model for all shoots. He was relieved upon knowing who it was, Rose would work with.

Angel Delveccio was the coveted photographer in the modelling industry. His search for a muse had taken him far and wide but to no avail. A chance encounter with an old friend led him to meet them at the beach where he scheduled his shooting session too.

His current model was a busty white female who was made to wear thick layer of bronzer to represent his imaginative muse's body and skin. He always dreamed of her to possess olive skin and proportionate size. Ample boobs for a cleavage but not too much for an overspill. She would be slim but not anorexic. She would have meat on her hands and thighs and would represent Aphrodite when gowned.

His search was over when his assistants clicked a girl who played around with the waves, unaware of her discovery. Although they have been working together for months now, time and again, he would think back to the moment that bought her into his life.

Had he been straight, he would've stolen her from the world and kept her all for himself. But his orientation made it possible for him to share the love of his life with the world, even though it was only her images. It was her brother whom he had eyes for but Angel knew better than to approach a man who showed no interest.

Her annoyed voice made him trace back his steps to her like an animal pulled by the mate's call. It was a philosophical love for both; a love of friendship and devotion. He found happiness in her. His inquiry about her annoyance made her aggravated.

"What can I do for you love" his demeanor made her calm. She was the best model and friend he ever had. The only hizzy fit she ever threw was when asked to shoot in the mud, which according to her was 'Eww'.

Compromise was attained by bringing kaolin clay. Of course, Angel would never throw her into the mud, even if it was prepared with gold and distilled water. He only did that to annoy her. But today, her tantrum was justified.

She was asked to join the 'Apptraction.' The widely used app of the century. The one which guaranteed soulmate finding or a huge compensation, if unsatisfied. Everyone was on the app. Even Emma contemplated joining before going old school and dating normally. She was with Hugh now.

Rose was happy that her best friend and her brother were a thing. She even reenacted her favorite sitcom's famous liner 'My best friend and my brother' with slight modification to fit the scenario. Yet, deep down she dwelled in the fear of them leaving her be once they get married and move on in life.

Knowing how her parents met; a meet cute, she'd already made a mental note to tell her future kids as a bedtime rendition. And after Emma and Hugh fit like missing pieces, she too craved organic instead of bionic. She believed in love at first sight.

Angel had trouble finding a man for her shoots. The one who would be the groom in the tuxedo, completing the set; complementing her beauty. No man was good enough for her. Angel acted like her father when it came to men's selection. Too short and tall were the conveyed means for rejection yet he secretly scanned them to ensure their members were long and healthy for her needs too.

Rose tried dating men who turned out to be jerks at one or the other point. Tired of keeping up with the argument, she gave Angel and Hugh her ultimatum.

"If we don't find a man for me in a week, we would delete my account." Palm stretched, she waited for them to promise. Ever the kid in a grown up body, she was happy when they agreed.

She knew there wouldn't be dearth of men as she was famous and primed by now. She could have the pick of the lot. Yet, the idea of a chance meeting thrilled her more than the one thrown at her electronically.

Rose also knew that the protective man that is Angel, he would reject men left right and center from the minute he'd receive notifications. Playing her chance, she clicked onto the 'Join' button commencing the turn of her fate. She was unaware of what the churn on the screen would do to her in a few weeks.

The minute the page stopped loading, Angel started beating the device. He was disappointed and angry at the way the app behaved towards his muse's application. Before he could toss it aside, the rational one Hugh, pulled it off his hand and walked away stating it was for the good of everyone.

Rose knew her brother was siding with Angel on this. He wanted his sister to date someone so he too could have a man's company to have drinks and pool sessions with. Angel was never interested in doing any of it.

He had another reasoning too, wanting her to be happy. Hugh protected her ever since their parent's demise, ensuring she never suffered a heartbreak.

He'd even beat up boys she dated in school whom he thought would be cheating on her and made her to breakup. He thought that was the right thing to do. Even now, according to him, his sister's need to have a partner although being forced upon her, was the right thing for her. The chauvinist yet protective brother that he was, he never bothered asking.

Entering her trailer he fell of the couch, pulling her personal phone. She had two phone numbers. One which was made for managing publicity and the other which only a few people had the privilege of possessing. By now, the app's loading representation was replaced with percentile completion of her soulmate's profile. He was relieved, knowing how the app worked.

Hugh too tried using it when Emma was engaged to be married to Paul. She was there on the app a while back and never took down her profile even though engaged. Blissfully unaware that one drunken night Hugh in the wake of his heartbreak, would join just to realize the truth. She was his soulmate from the beginning.

All things played out well for them with Paul leaving the picture. He wanted the same for his sister. As he waited eagerly for that face to appear on screen which would change her world, his own phone chimed. Looking away, he noticed Emma's message asking him to come home soon.

Smilingly he put it back after replying, centering his attention on Rose's phone. When the face profile loaded slowly, he jumped off the couch stumbling off the stairs and onto the path where the shooting took place.

His lungs gave up with all the screaming as he ran towards Angel. It was Hugh's eureka moment. His sister had a match. The man looked perfect but before he could get his hopes up, he wanted to ensure this was the right thing to do.

Grabbing Angel's hand, he walked him away from the shoot and Rose.

"What man! I had the perfect lighting" Angel was irritated to be disturbed. All Hugh had to do was revel the photo with the person's name on it.

"Gabriel" he cried out, holding his hand to mouth. Everyone stopped their work to check on Angel; he sounded like a dying cat.

Hugh nodded and hugged Angel. They both shared a moment in silent over the mutual happiness. Had Rose not been in the modelling business, Hugh wouldn't have known who Gabriel was. But as his sister's latest crush post joining the profession, he recognized him the instance the photo appeared.

Gabriel was a model turned actor with philanthropy as his main work. His work towards human trafficking and endangered animal species got him recognition from far and beyond the film fraternity. He was the 'All in one' as dubbed by the media. Besides his looks over which volumes one to hundred could be written, he was a kind man whom everyone loved.

Hugh's heart crashed onto the rib-cage as he pressed the 'Accept' bottom on the screen. Angel squealed. His heart resonated Hugh's reaction. Rose was not even aware what the devils's minions were up to.

Now it was only moments before things would reveal themselves.

The app worked mysteriously. Sometimes after accepting the suggestion it wouldn't suggest on meeting each other for days together whilst in other cases the option would be thrown immediately. The subscription for it was same for all and there was no discrimination. Every interview by the CEO pointed only one thing, the algorithms knew what to do.

Calculated fate intervention was the tag it received and nobody so far have reported an issue or dissatisfaction. Everyone on it was either a happy customer, riding into the sunset with their better halves or ones who were finding one.

The wait or meet were all part of the package. Accepting the option shown would make the client meet their soulmate and going on one date. Just one. By the end of it, one would know in their heart for it to be true.

The app was used around the world now. All its competitors died down.

Another notification on Rose's phone made its way. Angel had thrown away the perfect lighting aside to watch what happens.

Rose was tired after a long day of shoot to compliant about getting into the costume, only to get out. Ignoring her giggling brother and mentor, she made way for the trailer to sleep off the tiredness.

Left behind in the open were Hugh and Angel who read the notification again and again, holding hands.

**Gabriel is on his way to meet you**
