The one with all the happiness

Two weeks.

It was two whole weeks of eternal bliss for Gabriel and Rose. They never left each other's company. Between shoots, she would rush back to the trailer. Her body knew what she craved and she craved for him like an addict. He was her fix and she couldn't get over him.

Rose never believed that numbers could do magic to her as she always hated math. But when her finger pressed the join button on the app, little did she knew that inadvertently, she changed the course of time.

Two souls who liked each other and never had the chance to confess were bought together by binary digits.

Gabriel too, was unable to believe the compatibility they showed. His mind couldn't wrap around the fact that there existed a human, who was the missing piece of the puzzle. He was in heaven with the realization. She was his perfect partner, his soul mate.

Two weeks was all it took for them to come out in the open about their relationship. The world was ecstatic with the news. The nation's bride had finally found her groom in the country's eligible bachelor. But Gabriel had other things in his mind when he went down on his knees after merely two weeks.

He strongly believed that when he'd find the one, he wouldn't delay with false mating rituals. He would make her, his. He was a traditionally orthodox man. Rose was similar in nature as she was elated with the proposal. The world contemplated on the longevity of their relationship, of which both were blissfully unaware. They found what they sought and hardly cared about anything else.

After a whirlwind romance of two weeks, Gabriel announced his retirement from movies and Rose from modelling. They wanted a life away from the cameras and scrutiny. She would join him in his philanthropic expeditions and he would help her with her charities. They would soon become the nation's beloved couple.

Gabriel's last assignment had him leave Rose for a couple of weeks, before his final return to her. He had already given her a spare to his mansion and she had plans for the place. After a lot of tears and kisses and a long night of lovemaking, he left for a shoot and she moved into his apartment.

Her days passed with redecoration and revamping the house to a home. Gabriel rarely lived there, he was always travelling. But with his impending retirement, she decided to make the four walls more homely. At night, they would talk over call. She felt as a high school girl, talking to him under covers and occasionally touching herself when he wanted to feel her.

Week passed slower than normal. There were two more to go. Suddenly, the news of his accident on sets broke out. He was injured in a fire shoot. He liked conducting his own stunts and had been injured on previous occasions too.

But this was different. Every passing minute turned the news gore. She wasn't able to contact anyone. Her last resort was Angel.

He informed of Gabriel's well-being and a fire injury, severe enough for a hand graft but not enough for her to travel. She didn't want to either. Her doctors advised her not to.

The life developing inside of her was to be protected from the harsh world. She prayed for his safely alongwith the one inside of hers. As the news of two becoming three was not something to be stated on calls, she waited for the weeks to pass.

Gabriel's recovery was slow but progressive. He was out of danger and close to healing. The shoots were delayed for him. She was there to support him constantly over calls and videos. He seemed different and she blamed it on the heavy sedation he was put under for pain management. Ignoring the nation blaming her for not being by his side, she was a dotting fiancé to him and a responsible mother to their unborn.

Gabriel's decision to extend the shoot came as a shock to her. She awaited his arrival, when the news to extend the shoot as his final exit project broke. She spent the day trying to reach him but to no avail. Teary eyed, Rose decided to make up for the lost time by calling up Hugh and Angel. They arrived in a blink of an eye.

She appeared happy for them but they knew her long enough to read beneath her mask. Her truth was saddening.

Angle decided to take action by travelling to the shoot location. He didn't want people to blame his muse for no fault of her own. He was in love with her. A platonic love which transpired beyond bodies and into the soul. Her happiness meant the world to him.

Only when Angel reached the sets, did the truth presented itself. Gabriel's team had withheld information of his temporary amnesia. The man had signed deals worth billions and rescinding it would bring storm of lawsuits on them. So they played the man who couldn't remember of his life from a couple of months back.

Although Gabriel knew Angel for years together, he had trouble placing him too. Understanding the gravity of the issue, Angel used all his resources to bring Gabriel back. It wasn't easy but his team of lawyers and activists supported him through and through.

Gabriel was finally home.

As much as it hurt Rose to see the love of her life figuring his own back to pieces, she kept it all to herself. She didn't even break the news of little Gabriella who was growing inside but not yet revealing through her body. She thought there was still time. She wasn't going to be the reason for his breakdown. He already had a few in a month's time.

His behavior was different and there were days when she felt Gabriel was a different man altogether. A stranger living in the house. His touch was different and so was his walk and talk. She suspected it to be a medication so she consulted an array of doctors to ensure her fiancé received the best of the treatment.

By now, Rose had been fairly acquainted with Gabriel's distant aunt, Claire. The only surviving family member of the family. The Yapes met a tragic ending on a private holiday cruise. She remembered reading articles about it, growing up. Aunt Claire used to visit occasionally when Rose contacted her. The missing motherly presence was finally replaced with hers.

She was a calming and warm entity and she'd talk about the boys for hours.

Yes boys, Gabriel had a twin.

He was the black sheep of the family who left the acting heirloom to pursue drugs, sex and rock and roll. Gabriel would meet him on their birthdays and parent's death anniversary.

James was a difficult man to be pinned.

Upon Claire's recent visit, Rose opened up about their awaited new arrival and her troubles with Gabriel's memories. She was happy to help the expecting mother. Rose needed some time to recuperate so she left to meet Emma and Hugh, both of whom were expecting too.

The evening passed at Emma and Hugh's with Angel making a surprise visit. She was glad that there was still family members to look after her if things went sideways. A grown up woman, Rose knew that if Gabriel doesn't returned with his old memories, things might end. There was already trouble brewing between them.

She saw a dark and angry side of him which was never known to her. Although patient, she did blame the medicines for his rampant moods but was reasonable and mature too in evaluating every option in the off-chance of such happenings again.

Growing up, Rose had Emma as her family. The girls were instilled with lessons of self-confidence and esteem that they grew up becoming strong, independent woman. Ones who won't stay in troubled homes because that's what was expected. Yet, deep down she was also a girl who was madly in love with the man who changed her life in a span of two weeks.

Instilled with positivity from the talks, she drove back to the mansion. The house seemed deserted. She entered the dark hallways and turned on the master switch. The house illuminated.

She called out for Gabriel. He didn't respond. She was clear on her instructions to the help. Gabriel must not leave the house.

Panicking caused her to fall on the couch. Composing herself, she called out again and again but all that retuned from the hued corners was her echo. When help too didn't respond, she pushed her hand inside the soft lining of her bag, sensing around for her phone.

She dialed Gabriel but he didn't respond.

Before she could dial Claire, her notification chimed, a voice memo peeked at her. Playing it on loud, she walked around the house, opening each door for a human's presence.

The memo was from Claire. She was hurrying to speak. The voice stopped Rose dead on her tracks.

"GET OUT.. GET OUT.. IT'S NOT HIM. 345 RICHMOND STREET.. GET OUT RO...."
