Epilogue
A/N: This super cute video above inspired me to do this epilogue, requested by you guys! Man, Adrienette is so cute I can't even. Okay here's the chapter!
Four years later...
Marinette smiled, flipping through the photo album filled to the brim with memories. Pictures from tenth grade all the way to graduation only last year. Parts of her life she would never forget as long as she lived.
It was almost perfect. Every sheet was completely filled with pictures of her, Alya, Nino, her parents, and of course... Adrien. Pictures of them awkwardly smiling in tenth grade flanked by Alya and Nino. A bunch of fist bumps after every akuma fight, courteousy of Alya. Shared smoothies and movie dates in college. Kisses and hugs. Marinette's smile grew wider and wider as she flipped to the last picture, from only a week ago. She bit her lip, staring at the one empty sheet below the picture- waiting to be filled with one final picture.
"Mari?" The very voice she was thinking about called out to her. "You ready?"
Adrien walked into the room, hair neatly combed back and wearing a formal suit. He smiled at Marinette and took a seat next to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"It feels like yesterday," he remembered, staring at the pictures. "Yet it's been four years."
His eyes landed on a bright photograph, with shocked faces staring at the camera. Marinette, too, remembered the moment like it was yesterday.
Adrien had just revealed his identity to her after telling her he knew she was Ladybug. They had been kissing in the closet when the door flew open. Outside of it stood Alya and Nino. A camera flashed, followed by shocked gasps from both of them.
"No way," Nino muttered, staring at their entwined hands and red faces. "We've been trying to set you up for years!"
Alya grinned. "And you've been together this whole time! Who knew?"
Adrien and Marinette exchanged a look. "I guess you caught us," Adrien managed, pleading that Marinette would go along with it.
"I'm really sorry I didn't tell you, Alya," she apologized. "I just- I don't know."
Alya laughed. "Are you kidding? This is the greatest surprise ever!"
Adrien smiled. "We fooled them pretty well."
"We definitely did," Marinette agreed. "But they found out anyway." She pointed to a dark photograph, just light enough to make out two figures laughing, hands entwined.
It was a cool windy night. Ladybug and Chat Noir had just finished their night patrol and were standing on top of the Eiffel Tower, staring at the lit up city.
"It's beautiful," Ladybug marveled.
Chat placed his hand over her's on the railing. "Yeah it really is." But he wasn't looking at the city. He was looking at her.
Ladybug hesitated and turned, just quick enough to catch Chat's eyes on her. "Chat-"
"I love you Ladybug... Or Marinette," he whispered. "Simple as that."
"I love you too, Chat... Or Adrien, I guess."
"Confusing, isn't it?" Chat asked, causing both of them to burst into laughter. A flash of light burst from behind the tower, just before they detransformed.
"We're lucky they didn't take the picture while we were detransforming," Marinette spoke. "But I still can't believe they found out."
"With all that sneaking around," Adrien began, chuckling. "I'm surprised they didn't find out sooner." He rose up from the soft carpet of their apartment and offered a hand to Marinette. "Come on. Why be nostalgic when we can create new memories right here?"
Marinette giggled and took his hand, her red dress billowing out from underneath her. She adjusted his green tie below his black suit. "Not bad for tying a tie the first time, kitty."
Marinette's dress ^^
Adrien's suit ^^
"Well, everything has to be perfect for my lady, doesn't it?"

The restaurant was fancy- extremely fancy. The room was dimly lit by candles and the porcelain plates were lined with gold. Out of the glass windows, a beautiful view of Paris was visible.
"Mr. and Mrs. Agreste?" a hostess announced. "This way."
She led them to a small candlelit table and gestured for them to sit. Marinette and Adrien shared impressed smiles.
"All this for one date?" Marinette asked, as Adrien pulled out her chair. "You shouldn't have."
Adrien only responded with a knowing smile, sipping his sparkling water. "It's a special day."
Marinette raised an eyebrow, but decided not to question it. "Thank you. It's amazing," she smiled.
"It's not the only thing here that's amazing," Adrien answered, triggering a blush to spread across Marinette's cheeks. After they had ordered, he leaned forward and took her hand. "I actually wanted to ask you-"
He was interrupted by a scream from outside the restaurant, followed by a few others. Adrien and Marinette exchanged knowing glances before standing up together and dashing out of the restaurant.
"Now? Now of all times?" Adrien muttered as Marinette hiked up her dress. "Of course it had to be an akumatized villain."
They transformed and jumped onto the restaurant's roof, when Chat's tense shoulders and furrowed eyebrows caught Ladybug's eye.
"Adrien are you okay?"
He sighed. "I just..." Chat shook his head. "You know what, forget it. Now's a better time than ever."
With that, he pulled out a velvet box from his suit's pocket and got on one knee. Ladybug's jaw dropped and she placed her hands over her mouth.
"It's been six years," Chat began. "Six years since I met you and my life changed forever. Six years since we laughed together in the rain- since we fought Stone Heart together. Ever since then, I've been slowly falling in love with both of your identities and it wasn't until four years ago that it all became perfect. The two loves of my life were the same person. The talented, kind, beautiful Marinette was the same person as the clever, strong, perfect Ladybug. Every moment I spend with you makes my life worth it and I love you with all my heart- both parts of you. I couldn't live without you, Marinette and Ladybug... Will you marry me?"
Chat gave her a smile- not a smirk or half smile, but a real smile. Ladybug stood there, her eyebrows raised and mouth wide, for a few moments before she could even form a coherent word.
"Um... My knee is kind of hurting, so..."
That broke her out of the trance. "Yes," she answered. "You crazy cat! Of course I'll marry you."
Chat laughed and slipped the ring onto her finger. He stood up and turned to the city, spreading his arms out in front of him.
"You hear that everyone? Ladybug said she'd marry me!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. "Ladybug's my fiancée!!" A few cheers echoed from below, one unmistakably from Alya.
Ladybug's cheeks tinted red and she clamped a hand over Chat's mouth, stifling a laugh. "Shh!"
Chat grinned. "Okay... My future wife," he teased, kissing her on the lips for a few moments before they broke apart.
"Marinette Agreste," he tried. "I like the sound of that."
Ladybug laughed. "Me too. Now let's go- we have an akuma to defeat."
She extended her yo-yo to jump when Chat wrapped and arm around her waist and pulled her close. He extended his pole into the endless sky and began dropping them from the height to the villain.
"Let a fiancé help you out, hmm?"
"Kind of milking this marriage aren't you?" Ladybug teased.
"Why, of course, my lady," he replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Just one thing."
Ladybug frowned. "What's that?"
"I really hope our honeymoon isn't like this."
*~*~*~*
Exactly midnight. Marinette rolled out of bed, careful not to disturb Adrien beside her, and tiptoed into the TV room. She pulled out the album and stared at the image of his proposal in her hand.
She had the last picture for her album.
The perfect way to end a perfect chapter of her life.
As for the next one? That was just beginning.
