Chapter 1
"I can't believe we're already in college!" Marinette gushed to Alya. "It seems like just yesterday we were in tenth grade."
"No kidding," Alya agreed. "But who would've thought that most of us are going to the same college?"
Marinette frowned. "Really? Who's coming to the University of Paris?"
Alya pulled out her phone to reveal a poll on her blog. "Nearly everyone from our class is going to this University." She gestured to the beautiful campus. "Including Ladybug!"
"How-?" Marinette shook her head. Alya would have found out some way or the other. "Wait does that mean-?"
"Yep," Alya interrupted, smiling widely. "Adrien is going here."
Marinette's eyes widened. "Oh- oh what am I going to do?!" she cried. "If I could barely talk to him in high school, imagine college." A million scenarios flashed through her mind, each one more disastrous than the previous.
"Girl girl girl," Alya laughed. "Hopefully you'll get up the nerve."
"Hopefully," Marinette echoed under her breath. She pulled out a schedule from her bag. "Hey- we're roommates!"
"Who would've thought?" Alya joked, bumping her shoulder. "Come on. Let's go set up our dorm."
*~*~*~*
"I'm already regretting sharing a dorm with you," Alya groaned in reference to all the Adrien pictures on the wall. "How do you even sleep with those there?"
Marinette sighed. "How could you not? He's so... Perfect."
Alya giggled, but suddenly her eyes widened. "And he's right behind you."
"What?!" Marinette screeched. She whipped around and, sure enough, the blond-haired boy was standing in the doorway accompanied by Nino.
"Just wanted to check in on my girlfriend," Nino sweetly said walking up to Alya and kissing the top of her head. His eyes landed on the pictures. "Dude- Marinette- those are a lot of pictures of Adrien!"
Marinette's face reddened. "They... Um... Well, you see..."
"They must have been left there by last year's freshman," Alya answered for her. Marinette shot her a grateful smile and she continued. "Marinette and I were actually just taking them down."
Adrien leaned against the frame of the door. "They are pretty old pictures," he agreed. "They look like tenth grade or so."
"They are," Marinette blurted out. "I mean, yeah, they look like it!" She sighed. One complete sentence to Adrien- she was getting better.
Adrien smiled. "So what are you majoring in?" he asked Marinette and Alya. He pointed to Nino. "This guy's got his mind set on filmmaking."
Nino grinned. "Just the soundtrack," he assured. "But, dude! Have you seen the software they have here? It's amazing."
"Really?" Alya asked. "I'm doing something on the lines of web design, kind of like my Ladyblog. If they have good programs here, that would be really helpful."
"It would," Adrien agreed. He glanced at Marinette. "How about you?"
"Design fashioning," she managed. She shook her head. "I mean designing fashion- no fashioning design- no wait."
"Fashion designing," Alya translated, laughing. "You should see Marinette's latest designs."
"I'd love to see them in class," he agreed. "But I should get going. Still have to set up my dorm."
Alya and Marinette waved as he walked out. Once he left, Alya turned to Nino. "What's he majoring in?"
"It's actually a pretty interesting story," Nino laughed. "His dad insisted he become a doctor or lawyer, which really wouldn't be hard with his GPA and all. He actually got into a lot of really good schools all over the world... Including Harvard."
"Harvard?" Marinette repeated, eyes wide. "He turned down Harvard?!"
"That's the thing," Nino agreed. "He and his dad had this huge fight about it. Adrien kept saying something about having to stay in Paris no matter what and his dad kept insisting that he go to America."
Alya shook her head. "But why would he want to stay in Paris so badly?"
Nino shrugged. "I have no idea and he didn't tell me anything when I asked him. Anyway, he eventually turned down all these great scholarships and got a full ride here. He's training to be a teacher."
"A teacher, huh?" Marinette asked. "Who would've thought?"
"Definitely not me," Nino agreed. "I should get going too. Still gotta set up my dorm." He pointed to a door down the hall. "Adrien and I are rooming together."
"We'll try and visit some time," Alya assured as he left out the door. She turned to Marinette. "You two need to just get together already."
Marinette's turned as red as Alya's Ladybug comforters. She opened her mouth to reply, then shook her head. "Come on- we have to finish unpacking."
"If you say so," Alya relented, but that knowing smile was still on her face.

"Do you think my father is still angry at me, Plagg?" Adrien asked the lazy kwami. "I just can't balance something like Med-school and being Chat Noir... It's not possible."
Plagg shrugged, his mouth still full of cheese. "If it helps, you're the first Chat Noir to make it this far. Few of them make it into adulthood."
Adrien's eyes widened. "And that's supposed to make me feel better?"
"Well, it's a dangerous job. Also," Plagg cleared his throat as if he was about to say something he wouldn't normally say. "Thank you for staying in Paris."
Adrien smirked. "I'm sorry, I didn't hear that?"
"That's the most you're going to get," Plagg warned. "Unless you give me more camembert."
Adrien rolled his eyes. "Quick Nino's coming! Hide!"
Nino walked into the room and gestured to all the boxes. "Dude we have so much to unpack."
Adrien groaned and flopped onto the bed, really the only thing they had unpacked. "We need help."
"The girls are done unpacking," Nino suggested.
"Oh yeah," Adrien grinned. "But, I doubt they'll take the offer."
Nino laughed. "You're probably right. Alya would just make me do it all. But it would get done." He stuck his head out the door. "Hey Alya! You want to help me unpack my stuff?"
A pillow came flying down the hall, hitting Nino square in the head. "Do it yourself, you loser!"
Nino rubbed his head and turned back to Adrien. "It was worth a shot."
"Looks like that's what she gave you," Adrien joked. "Shots fired."
Nino dropped his hand from his head and stared at Adrien for a moment. "Was that... A pun?"
Careful Adrien, your Chat Noir is showing. "I- um-" Adrien tried. "I guess it was." He stared out the window. "Hey listen, I have to go get some papers from the main office. I'll be back."
Without another word he dashed out the room and down the hall. But that wasn't the real reason he had left.
He had spotted an akumatized villain.
