Time Skip

It never got better.

Megan ignored Peter day after day. It was known that Megan could hold a grudge until the end of time, but could she hold this one any longer? It was getting severely heartbreaking and sad every day it kept going.

Michelle, for one, was tired of it. Of course she understood why her best friend was upset, but things had to change. And things were definitely changing thanks to a school trip.

"Two weeks in Europe? I think I'd rather be laying in bed." Megan wasn't very fond of going on the trip, mainly because she knew who would be coming along. Plus she did not want any parts of third wheeling since she noticed "crybaby" Brad Davis had been eyeing Michelle for quite some time.

"Come on, Meg. This'll be fun!" Michelle whined to her. "As one half of MJ squared, I'm telling you that you have to go. Plus imagine all of the aesthetic pictures you can take for your Instagram."

Now this had Megan more interested. "True..."

"And maybe you can make up with a certain someone..." And now the moment was ruined. "Not happening. Wait, why are we walking towards-"

"Sup dorks!" Michelle says to Peter and Ned, who were in the middle of a conversation. Michelle, being the observant person she is, could hear Peter's plan to patch things up with Megan, so that instantly caused her to play wingwoman. "Excited about the trip?"

"Hi! MJ, Meg. Um, yeah. We were just talking about it." Peter replies, fiddling with a scrunchie on his wrist that belonged to Megan. Even after everything he still kept it. She gave it to him because she never wore it. It was full of eccentric patterns, which seemed like something she would get.

She noticed that it was on him, but didn't say anything. Probably because his Midtown sweatshirt still hung in her closet. Little did Megan know that Peter spent a lot of his nights with the hair accessory close to him with some tears involved.

"Yeah, and Peter's plan." Ned chimes in, then Peter gives him a look for mentioning it.

"Plan?" Michelle asked, acting like she didn't hear their entire conversation from before.

"Six steps to be exact." Ned adds, making Peter ever more angry at him.

"A six step plan?" She raised an eyebrow. "Yikes."

"Well it's kind of an important one." He shrugs.

"Oh really? What is it?" The two teenage boys still didn't know that she knew. They should know by now that she's an "observant queen" as Megan likes to say.

"Nothing. It's not important." Peter quickly said as he looks at Megan dead in the eyes. Was he trying to hint that his plan was about her? She didn't catch on anyway.

"Cool, cool. By the way, travel tip. You should probably download a VPN on your phone so the government can't track you while we're abroad." Michelle deadpans.

"Also it unblocks all the websites the school has blocked." Megan says cheerfully. "But the school year is practically over so..."

"Awesome." Peter attempts to talk to her. "Thanks."

"Welp. Buh-bye losers!" Michelle and Megan begin walking off, but Peter has one last thing to say. "Will you ever find another insult?"

"Probably not!" Michelle yells.

Once the two girls were nowhere near hearing distance, Ned broke the silence. "Man, that was rough."

"I know." Peter sighs, looking down at the scrunchie. "She barely spoke a word to me. She kept looking at you when she was talking."

"Don't worry, Peter. I think this trip will do us good." Ned was really trying to cheer his best friend up, but that was a pretty difficult task to do as of late. "Oh, and maybe give that ugly scrunchie back. She probably wants it."

"Yeah, hopefully it will." But Peter was actually optimistic that he could have something with Megan again. Hopefully nothing gets in the way like always. "But I think I'll keep it for now."

After the school day Megan went to the diner. She had put herself into her work, mainly because she was just trying to make some money. Plus now that she's going on the trip, she needed some cash to splurge in Europe.

Brad Davis entered the diner not so unexpectedly, since lately he had been stopping by for the sake of MJ always coming there. "Here to stalk MJ again?"

Brad jumps a little and almost drops his camera. "I wouldn't consider it stalking..."

"It's basically stalking." Megan shrugged.

He looks around to see if Michelle was coming, which she wasn't just yet. "Come on, you know how much I like her."

"No offense, Brad. But why is an attractive jock like you after a girl like MJ?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Woah, are you coming onto me? That's your best friend!" Of course Megan wasn't coming onto him like that. She didn't find in attractive in any way, plus the whole "blip" thing would make it even weirder.

"Ew!" She fake gags. "Not to be rude but you're not my type."

"And what is your type?" Peter Parker.

She shook off her thoughts and answered him. "Definitely not a jock."

"We literally go to the same super smart school!" Brad argues.

"Yeah, but the She's All That vibes are too strong." He looked at her confused since he had never heard of that movie in his life. The only reason why Megan knew of that movie was because her dad had a huge collection of movies from the 80's and 90's "What the hell is that?"

"You'll learn one day, crybaby." Megan joked, which instantly annoyed him. "Hey, I've moved past that!"

"You'll always be crybaby Brad to me."

"I could get you fir-"

"Oh, hi MJ!" She interrupts as Michelle enters the diner, looking worried about something.

"Hey. I'm kinda stressing over my final art proj-" Michelle stops to see Brad, who instantly turned around. "Oh, hey Brad."

"Hi." He gushes.

"So," Megan gives a look at Brad since he was kind of freaking Michelle out, then changed the conversation. "stressing over what?"

"My final art project!" She exclaims. "Mrs. Turner has yet to put in my grade!"

"Dude, you're the best artist I know." Megan reassures her. It's not like she was lying, Michelle was an amazing artist. "You're totally gonna get an A."

"I hope so." Michelle sighs.

"Hey, why don't you sit with Brad?" She offers. Megan knew this would please him. "Talk about the trip while I actually do my job?"

"Um, sure." She shrugs in agreement. Michelle walks to an empty booth, and before Brad goes to follow her, Megan stops him.

"You're welcome." Megan whispers.

Brad only nods then hurriedly goes to sit across from Michelle. She wasn't sure if her best friend had some sort of feelings, but she wouldn't be mad if she didn't. Michelle wasn't desperate for a man, Megan knew that. But a nice guy like Brad was right in front of her, and one could only pray something positive came to the connection they have yet to discover.

Ever since Megan began working at the diner again, Peter just had to know that Megan got home safe. It was kind of creepy, but he cared about her so much.

On the nights when her mother was unable to pick her up, she had no choice but to walk home. Sometimes Scott would walk with her when he was working that day, and of course Peter hated that. Obviously Scott had no chance since he was a grown man but Peter still hated the fact that he would walk Megan home.

Tonight was one of those nights where Megan was stuck walking alone, and a familiar scenario from sophomore year is currently happening again.

"Put the bag on the ground and I won't shoot." Megan knew exactly what she was getting herself into. She had been in practically the same situation before, just this time not forcefully grabbed by some gross man.

"I mean, I'm kinda broke so-"

"Put the bag on the ground!" The man yells at her.

"Alright, alright." She gives in, mainly because she was pretty scared. "Jeez."

He points his gun at her, and Megan totally could've peed her pants right then and there. "Are you giving me attitude?"

"No-"

"Hey! Put the gun down!" Megan turns around to see Peter in his suit standing on the roof of a drug store. Shoot me. She thinks and rolls her eyes.

"Who the fuck?" He looks confused at the boy in the tight suit.

"Yeah, I'm outta here-"

A shot was fired, and the bullet just missed Megan's head. In the moment that the robber pulled the trigger, Peter used his webs and swung across to kick the gun out of his hand, then immediately began fighting him since the robber tried punching him.

"Oh my fucking god." Megan said to herself, shaking in fear. She literally just dodged a bullet and was saved by her ex-whatever.

After Peter manages to apprehend him, he goes immediately to pick up Megan's bag and hands it to her. "Are you okay?"

"Thanks," She pauses, making Peter think she was being forgiving, but he was so wrong. "but no thanks. I refuse to be your damsel in distress."

Peter's jaw drops from under his mask. "Are you kidding? That guy had a gun and you were sassing him!"

"And? I could've handled it myself." Look, there was a limit to Megan's badass front that she puts, and she definitely exceeded that limit.

"You almost got shot." Peter chokes up. He wouldn't know what to do if she actually did get shot.

"Well I didn't. I'm outta here." Megan walks away, brushing Peter's shoulder as she does. This was actually the most she's talked to him in awhile, but it's too bad it wasn't for anything good.

"Meg-"

"I'll see you on the trip."

"Yeah. I'll see you on the trip alright." That gave him some sort of hope, and with that Peter was now more determined to use his step by step plan to win her back. He should probably rethink that since he knows Megan isn't a prize to be won, but you get the gist.

Double update tingz 🤠🤠🤠

I need to write more so um no more updates til I'm scheduled to (next Thursday)

Also I know someone of y'all wanna whoop my ass for how much of a bitch Megan was but HERE'S THE THING:

1. Megan isn't particularly aware of how close Peter and Tony were. She never knew of what Peter viewed Tony as.

2. Megan will do anything to prove that she can handle things herself and doesn't need someone to save her. It doesn't matter if it's man or woman, she desperately wants to be able to take care of herself.

3. Yes she almost got shot and yes she wouldn't be able to handle that by herself but she doesn't want to admit that. She always wants/has to be right.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
