Chapter Three

The next morning I woke up early feeling energized and ready to start the day. I picked a simple outfit and headed for the bathroom. Since I wasn't in a rush I decided to put some effort in looking somewhat presentable.

After fixing my bangs and doing a light make-up, I entered the kitchen to get a granola bar to eat on my way to school. Before leaving the house I called Lexi to let her know I would be at her place soon.

As soon as I honked, Lexi appeared on her doorstep holding two cups of smoothies. She got inside and kissed my cheek.

"Good morning, girl. This one's for you." She said handing me one of the smoothies.

"You're a lifesaver. Thank you." I smiled and took a sip of the drink.

"So," She started. "Any news?" She asked.

"Not much. I was thinking of visiting my brother some time next week and maybe catching up with Jin as well." I turned to face her. "Want to come?"

"Yeah, sounds cool. It's also been a long time since we saw Jin."

"Yeah, that's true." I agreed. "Too bad he's busy."

Soon we were in the school parking lot. I parked my car next to Jimin's, grabbed my bag and locked it. We made it to the entrance and headed towards our lockers.

"By the way, I have to return Jimin's notebook." Lexi pointed out.

"Ah right. I have his keys. Here." I said and then opened my locker while Lexi stayed in front of Jimin's struggling to unlock it.

I got the books I needed for my first class but then I noticed something. Another envelope.

Is this guy going to confess his undying love for me now? I snorted.

I unfolded the paper and saw the same handwriting.

I'm stupid. I don't know why I left you this letter. Just throw it away. I'm not going to bother you anymore.

Hm, nice, I thought.

"What's that?" Lexi asked eyeing the the piece of paper in my hands curiously.

"Nothing important." I answered and put the letter back in the envelope.

"Are you sure? Judging from your reaction it seems quite important." She continued.

Sighing deeply I decided to tell her. I took the first envelope out of my back and handed it to her. Lexi looked confused but she didn't question me further.

"My girl has a secret admirer!" She exclaimed happily.

"That's not true. Somebody's just playing tricks with me. Besides," I got the second letter and handed it to her.

Lexi read it and instantly frowned. "Ugh, why stop now you, idiot?" She complained.

I laughed at her reaction, quickly hiding the letters inside my back as Yoongi was approaching us.

"Morning." He greeted and eyed us curiously.

Lexi rolled her eyes at him and looked my way. "I am going to give Jimin his keys."

I nodded at her and started walking next to Yoongi. "How are you?"

"Tired." He answered and started to yawn.

"Sometimes I really wonder what you do at night." I laughed.

I expected Yoongi to start laughing with me or at least smile, but instead the boy beside me looked like a deer caught in headlights.

"Come on, I'm only joking." I said and hit him playfully.

Thankfully, not long after Jimin and Hoseok joined us along with their other friend, Sejoo.

They all started talking about a new action movie so eventually I started walking on my own.

"I'm sorry, were you talking to me?" I turned on my left only to come face to face with Sejoo. I wasn't even talking, I thought to myself.

"No." I answered quietly, not sure what else I was supposed to say.

"Well then, please start." He continued and looked at me expectedly.

I have him a questioning look and turned to Hoseok for some help. Why is this guy even talking to me?

Hoseok instantly understanding what i was trying to say faced Sejoo and shot him a glare.

"Don't start with her. She's too good for you." He stated as he took a seat on the bench.

I sat beside him but then Sejoo came and squeezed between us. Hoseok paid him no attention and continued his conversation with the rest of the boys.

"You single?" He asked bluntly.

I chuckled at his question but didn't answer. "What a great way to start a conversation."

"Hey, I'm trying here, alright?" He put his hands up in defence. "It's not everyday I meet hot girls like you."

"Ugh. You're one of those guys." I said disappointed but he ignored me.

"So," He started. "Kiss me if I'm wrong, but dinosaurs still exist, right?" He asked cutely.

I started laughing out loud at that and everybody turned to look at us.

"You don't expect to get a girl with those lines, right?" I asked in disbelief still laughing at his attempt to flirt with me.

"Why not?" He whined. "These are really good."

I decided not to answer to that. Honestly, he was a really charming guy but not really my type. However, he was too cute to make him sad.

I unzipped my bag and got out my notes for my next class. A few minutes had passed and I had started to enjoy the silence between us but he had to ruin it.

"If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?" I snorted at that.

"If I said I wanted to check out your ass, would you turn around and walk away?" I asked him with a straight face.

I was usually not like this, avoiding any kind of fight at all costs. However, interrupting me from my studying could start a war.

"I taught her well." Laughed Yoongi and in that moment I remembered we were not alone.

I looked up and everybody was laughing. What caught my attention though was a familiar face. Jungkook stood there with an amused look on his face. When did he even get here?

"I see, you're playing hard to get." Sejoo pointed out. "I'm not complaining though, I like it."

Before I had time to answer Yoongi spoke. "Bro, you stand no chance. Is it too difficult for you to understand?"

"I'm always up for a challenge." He answered him unbothered and turned to me. "Will you go on a date with me? I'm sure it would change your mind." He said smirking.

At that moment I really wanted to scream yes at him only to see if it would bother Jungkook. It probably wouldn't make any difference to him though.

Sighing, I got up and grabbed my things. Not looking anyone in the eye I turned around saying I would see them later.

[ after school ]

After having no luck focusing on my homework I gave up.

I got up and changed into a pair of black skinny jeans and a baggy blue t-shirt. During that time Jimin would usually be at school, along with the rest of the team practising for their upcoming game. Most of the time time Yoongi and Namjoon joined them there as well, either playing by themselves or with the team members during their break.

After the 5 minute drive to school was over I headed towards the soccer field, instantly catching Namjoon and Hoseok sitting on the bleachers.

"Hey, girl." Hoseok greeted me.

"Hey, Minna." Namjoon smiled up at me. "What's up?"

"Not much. I couldn't seem to focus on doing my homework so I decided to come here instead." I replied and Hoseok gave me a devilish smile.

"I see. You decided to take your mind off homework by staring at a particular someone." He smirked at me. "Maybe a kiss from him could solve all your problems." He continued referring to Jungkook.

"Will you stop already?" I sighed, slightly annoyed.

Ever since he found out about my little crush on Jungkook he wouldn't stop teasing me about it. It was second period and I had English Literature with Hoseok and Jungkook.

Me and Hoseok had been talking about our plans for the weekend when Jungkook approached us. He actually wanted to invite us to a party the soccer team was throwing. Of course, Hoseok, being the idiot that he is had to mention how embarrassing I am when I get drunk.

I expected Jungkook to laugh and make fun of me but the only word that left his mouth was "Cute".

Cute.

He had called me cute.

Obviously, after hearing this I did what any sane girl would do.

I blushed.

"Come on! He's just teasing you." Namjoon laughed making it hard for me not to notice his amazing dimples.

"I know." I answered and looked briefly at the field. Everyone was cooling down while Jimin was dancing weirdly. Crazy guy.

"Any parties going on?" Namjoon tried to change the subject.

"None that I've heard of. Why? Are you looking for a poor girl for you to bang?" Hoseok laughed at his on words.

Namjoon snorted but decided not to pay him any attention. That's a good thing considering Hoseok's foul mouth gets us into fights sometimes.

"Hey guys, do you want to come with us?" Asked a voice that had me startled. Damn you and your angelic voice Jeon Jungkook.

"Where?" Hoseok questioned him.

"Just the diner nearby. We're pretty hungry." He answered mentioning at the rest of the team.

"Sure, why not?" Hoseok said and stood up. Namjoon followed closely behind him leaving me the only one seated.

"What about you?" Jungkook asked me.

"Um, I think I'm gonna pass." I tried to keep my cool, like his gaze didn't bother me at all.

"You sure?" He continued kind of... relieved?

"Yeah. Goodnight." I answered quickly and made my way towards my friends.

"Hey there, gorgeous." Jimin kissed my cheek.

"Hey, Jiminie." I greeted back and gave him a side hug. "Guys, I'm going back home now."

"Are you okay? Why won't you come with us?" Namjoon asked me worried.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just have to finish my homework, remember?" I said in hopes he would believe me.

"Oh yeah, right." He bought it. "I totally forgot." Too bad Hoseok didn't buy it
as well. In fact, the boy looked at me with a disapproving look but let it slide.

"Goodnight, guys." I said and left the building.

I got inside my car and tuned the radio into my favourite station. On my way home I decided to grab some snacks from the grocery store.

While driving, my mind travelled back to this morning.

The moment I opened the envelope and read the letter I didn't know how to feel. I tried to remember who I was hanging out with back then but no luck. I had the memory of a goldfish and apart from that, even if I did remember, it wouldn't mean anything. People my age tend to enjoy pranks.

After I got home I took a quick shower and sat down on my desk. I tried solving the equations we had for the next day, I tried memorizing all the intro I had in biology but all I could think of was the brunette boy.

It was time to move on from him.

Screw you and your good looks Jeon Jungkook.
