Once again Frank jumps when the doors open. He tries to read his son's face when nothing is said. Amaiya looks at Chris and he looks at her once more for courage.

"Dad," Frank's eyes light up, he hadn't been called that in so long, Chris continues. "I want to try but I'm still angry and we have a lot to discuss, this is going to take some time but, I'm willing. Please don't disappoint me I don't think I could handle it again and I need to be here for my family."

Frank takes his son into his arms and cries. "My boy, I promise I will make you proud of me as I am of you. I am in a better place and all I want is to right my wrong and become a small part of your life. Would you allow that, son? To be apart of your family?"

The silence is long and deadly until he sighs. "Yeah, dad you were always a part of my family even in your absence." They embrace again, a little longer this time, Mai is in tears when they pull her in.

"You can thank her because she made it make sense. She knows how important my family is to me." Frank nods and smiles at Amaiya.

"I always knew you'd keep my son on the right path, even when I couldn't. Thank you my sweet daughter-in-law. So tell me, with this huge house do I have grand-kids?" His eyes lit up at that word and his smile widens when they nod.

"Yes, grandpa, we have a set of twins CJ and Riley and then Brendan..."

He looks so overwhelmed with joy as he discovers he had grand babies. Amaiya takes his hand and slides it to her stomach, "and meet your other set of twins, Makava and Kyla. Due in six months or so..."

Frank looks shocked, his mouth wide open but no words come out. She nods. "Yes you have five grandchildren but this is it, I'm done after my princesses come. Are you excited?"
Still silence until he looks at his son.

"I'm so proud of you, son. Wow, I have five little people to spoil."

A van pulls up. "Well you have perfect timing because here they are!"

CJ is first to hop out and run towards Chris, he pauses when he looks at Frank.

"Hi daddy! Daddy, I baked cookies with Ry and Mari, they threw fwour at me!"

Chris kisses his temple. "They did? Did you guys get all messy?" He nods but his attention is on the unknown man standing next to his dad, he was young but he could recognize some similarities.

"CJ, this is your grandpa Frank, this is my daddy."

CJ waves at him and smiles. "Hi grandpa!" He goes to Frank with no hesitance.

Riley jumps down with her baby doll and stops when she notices Frank, she's apprehensive, hiding behind her mother. Mai takes her hand and crouches down, kissing her cheek. "Mommy missed you! Ry, this is grandpa Frank, this is daddy's daddy, say hi."

Riley sees that CJ is in his hands and so she signals for him to pick her up as well and with a hoist and a groan both his oldest are in his arms, the feeling overwhelming.

"Wow, I can't believe they let me pick them up."

"Well kids are innocent and don't judge and they pick up on good spirits."
Mari comes around after unbuckling Brendan and carries him on her hip.

"Mari, thank you so much for taking the kids this weekend we're so thankful for you. We have a gift for you,"

As Chris takes Brendan she hands her an envelope. "You and your family are going to the Bahamas for a week, next week, it's the least we could do so go enjoy some fun in the sun as a thank you from us."

"This is so wonderful, thank you guys! I can't wait to tell them, I guess I'll see you in two weeks since I wasn't scheduled this week." She hugs them both before waving and getting in her van.

Chris turns to his dad. "And this little guy is Brendan, he's not as willing but give him time. Come on let's go inside and maybe grandpa will watch you guys play in the backyard."

A duo of "yay!" echo through the house as they pull him towards the patio door.
