New Friends, New Neighbors
This is Venus but it's also not. Refer to my art book if you want a more accurate representation but in a crappier style. I didn't have the right colors for her skin and I made her look too young. Imagine if the Linh I drew had olive skin and all her hair was black. That's Venus. Happy reading!
A few days after Kara discovered Phantasia, a girl named Venus showed up. Venus has Olive skin, sapphire blue eyes, and black hair darker than the midnight sky. With Venus, came a cool hideout behind a waterfall. We called this hideout The Den.
The Den wasn't huge but it was spacious enough to be comfortable. When you first walked in there was space with a long couch with pillows and blankets everywhere. To the right was the kitchen and to the left was a staircase leading up to 7 decorated rooms each with a unique style. This led the girls to believe there were 5 more of them on the way.
For Kara, it was nice to have someone to share Phantasia with. She had a new best friend that she could do anything with. Venus was a Siren, meaning contact with lake water caused her to turn into a mermaid like creature with a beautiful voice.
Since discovering Phantasia, Kara had learned a few things.the first thing was that time didn't pass in Phantasia. Well, almost. Time did pass but only around a minute fur every hour in Phantasia. She also learned that to exit Phantasia, all you needed to do was have the will to leave. And you had to be free of all bonds. If you were stuck someplace in Phantasia you couldn't return to earth until you were free.
The last thing she learned about Phantasia is that whatever you write to get in, begins whatever scenario you're left to play out. Whatever you do in the book, is written down on the once blank pages.
"Hello?"a girl's voice called from the other side of the waterfall when Effie and Venus were playing card games.
The two best friends looked at each other with excitement. Another member!
When the new girl saw the raven haired girl peek out from behind the waterfall followed by a red headed beauty she looked frightened.
"Where...where am I?"
"Welcome to Phantasia," Effie and Venus said at the same time. Their smiles seemed to put the new girl at ease but she still had many questions.
"I thought the book was being figurative."
"Yeah we did too but here we are! I'm Effie and this is Venus."
"I'm Phoenix" the girl replied. Phoenix had dark skin and neon blue hair. Her eyes were a bright amber to the point where they were orange and she had thick eyeliner. She looked like she had attitude, and she definitely wasn't the person you wanted to mess with.
Effie and Venus showed Phoenix around. They took her on a tour of the Den then Kara persuaded Venus to let her take Phoenix to Mushroom. When they were all at Mushroom Effie and Venus told them all about what had happened since they got to Phantasia. They explained their species and Phoenix explained hers.
Phoenix was a Phoenix. Original right? Of course there wasn't anyone who just couldn't die so the Phoenix power only gave Phoenix 10 chances. For her entire lifetime.
Phoenix kept a close eye on Effie. She seemed to hang around her a lot more than Venus. Venus was jealous, but that didn't waver their friendship. The three girls were an unstoppable trio. After all, there were no stupid boys around yet to ruin their mood.
One day Effie decided to take a break from Phantasia.
"I'll be back" she promised her friends. "I'm just scared that If I stay here too long I'll never want to go back."
And with that, Effie left Phantasia for the real world. She knew she would only be gone for a day or two but she would miss her friends a lot.
Back on Earth Kara felt strange. She had been used to there being magic all around her and had never stayed on earth for longer than an hour or two since she had found the book.
Kara was away so often, she didn't even know she was getting new neighbors until now. The sound of a large moving van disrupted her outdoor lunch.
"Mom? You didn't tell me someone was moving in next door!"
"Yes I did!"
The truth is, she was probably right. Kara made her way inside wanting to avoid whoever the new neighbors might be. See, Kara had really bad anxiety so whenever she met new people she would do one of two things.
The first thing she would do is cry. If someone she just met started asking her questions, tears would build up in her eyes and her lips would quiver. The second thing she would do is act. Act like everything is okay, act like she's not hurting inside, and put on her fake nice voice that she couldn't help but use.
"Kara! Go help the neighbors unpack will you?" Great. Exactly the situation she was trying to avoid.
Reluctantly, Kara went back outside and walked over to the moving van. She nervously glanced and a tall man carrying boxes, that she assumed to be one of the new neighbors, and asked
"Need some help?"
The man had a mischievous smile on his face almost like he was planning something exciting, and told Kara to have at it.
Kara went to the moving van and unloaded a few boxes. She stacked them neatly and took them inside the house. It was a nice house that had been rebuilt over where a trailer used to be. There was only one story, but it was tall enough to be two. The kitchen was to the right when you walked in, opposite of Kara's, and there was a large open entryway. The living room and all the bedrooms seemed to be down the left.
Kara carefully set the boxes down in the living room with most of the others before coming out of the house to reload more boxes into her arms. She was halfway to the truck when she walked straight into a tall pile of boxes, too caught up in her own thoughts to notice.
She barely had time to let out a small umph before she fell face first into the gravel driveway.
Yay! Second chapter is out! Hope mew guys enjoyed!
