5 | Railroad Troubles
September 9th, 2047
Somewhere at a train yard, a crew of Symphonica workers are seen loading up cargo onto a train, getting ready to depart.
Inside an office, a blonde-haired man is sitting at his desk, staring out the window while listening to a report given by a Symphonica officer standing in front of his desk.
"These Conductors and Musicarts haven't been registered in the database." The officer said as he presents some photographs on the table, where a woman with short white hair and tanned skin is sitting at the side. "Conductor Leonard has requested tuning to be done. Perhaps it has something to do with this. Shall we report this to Grand Maestro Sagan just in-"
"Is that what I ordered you to do?" The man asked as he turns his chair and crosses his arms. "Have you played chess before? Pawns on the board cannot move on their own." He said as he picked up one of the pictures and it was a photo of Destiny and Fantaisie fighting off D2s back at the casino in Las Vegas. "If some pieces did happen to move on their own... What would you do?"
"Please forgive me, sir!" The officer quickly apologizes, tightening his posture. The tan-skinned woman had a smirk on her face, seemingly amused.
"There's no need to trouble the Grand Maestro over this. We'll take care of it."
"Yes, sir!" He said before leaving the room, and the man stood up as he looked back at the photograph in his hand.
"Two unregistered Musicarts and Conductors..." He scoffs before gazing out the window. "If they ever get in our way..."

"So, where are we going next?" Takt asked as he is sitting on the hood of Anna's car, while Anna is trying to lift it up using a scissor jack to replace the front right tire that is punctured.
"New... Or... leans..." Anna replied, using all of her strength to jack the car up, and the fact that Takt is adding some weight by sitting on top of the hood isn't helping either.
"New... What was that?"
"New Orleans!" She shouted. "Seriously... Could you not talk to me right now?!" She said in between ragged breaths.
Eventually, she managed to lift up the car, and she unscrewed the wheel nuts and got the tire out before collapsing to the ground, catching her breath and wiping the sweat off her face.
"I'm tagging out. It's your turn now." She said, fanning her face with her hand.
"Huh? You want me to do it?" Takt asked.
"Who else is there?"
Meanwhile, Destiny is standing nearby, next to a cactus, curiously examining it. "Apparently there are some cacti that are edible." She said, poking at its thorns. "I must say that these prickly things do not look sweet."
Takt released a sigh. "I'm not good with stuff like this."
"Well, good. Now's your chance to get better." Anna said.
"Just get Akiri to do it-" He then tripped on the scissor jack, causing the car to come crashing down, and Anna looked at the scene in horror.
"My car!"
"What's going on over here?" They looked to see Akiri approaching them, with his own car parked a few distances behind and he came over to see Anna's car on the ground with only three wheels. "I told you, I should've done it instead."
"I didn't want to bother you. You've already done so much for us already." She replied.
"It's just changing a flat, I don't mind." He said as he then walked over and started to lift the car back up using the jack, unlike with Anna, he didn't have any struggles turning the jack. Once the car is lifted, he went on to replace the spare tire.
Meanwhile, Fantaisie was silently watching her Maestro doing work from the car window. She is deep in her thoughts about the talk that they had back in Las Vegas. The talk never came to a conclusion, as they had been interrupted. Now, she is still stumped on what to do to improve their relationship.
Things between them haven't been the same since that night. Whenever they are alone with each other, none of them could speak a single word, making their trip much more awkward.
Akiri was feeling conflicted. He had spent every day since that night gathering his thoughts, deeply thinking about how things are between him and his Musicart.
"You did it so easily..." Anna said, looking impressed as Akiri had finished bolting on the spare tire and is now lowering the car back down gently.
"Changing a spare tire is common knowledge..." He said as he is now storing the punctured tire in the trunk.
"Other than music, the Maestro's ability to do anything else is apparently subpar." Destiny said, looking at her Maestro.
"Shut up!" Takt scolded the girl. "I don't need talent for anything other than music. And you're one to talk. You can't do anything other than fight D2s."
"And eat sweets apparently..." Akiri said under his breath.
"Anything comes up, and you won't shut up about D2s-"
"D2s." Destiny cuts him off as they all looked over to see a single D2 in the distance.
"It looks really far off. It'll just be waste of time if we-" Akiri was cut off as Destiny went ahead anyway and transformed as she charges full speed towards the D2.
"Why did I even bother...?" Akiri mumbled as he and Anna both immediately went to their cars to chase after Destiny.
(Timeskip)
"What the...?"
As he is driving, Akiri could see that Destiny had just killed off the sighted D2, and he is surprised to see that there is now a train stopped a few feet next to her. As they arrived, they parked their cars next to the railroad.
"Are you okay, Cosette?!" Anna asked worriedly.
"Yes. I am perfectly fine." The Musicart answered.
As Akiri got out of his car, he glanced over at the halted train to see a familiar logo read 'Symphonica International Organization'.
"Symphonica, huh...?"
"Who are you?" He heard a new voice speak out and he turns to see that there is now a girl with short blue hair standing in front of Destiny, holding a one-handed sword.
"A Musicart?"
He thought as he saw her brandish her sword at Destiny with a glare.
"Why did you stop the train? Answer me." She asked in a demanding tone.
Fantaisie, seeing the threat, immediately transforms and got behind the new Musicart in an instant, placing the blade of her scythe behind the stranger's neck. "Lower your weapon. We do not intend to fight, however we will engage if necessary."
"Tch! Another one?" The Musicart exclaimed, narrowing her eyes.
Anna then ran over beside Destiny. "H-hang on a second! This is just a misunderstanding!" She said panickly, trying to defuse the situation.
"Wait." Another voice speaks out.
"Commander Schindler." The Musicart exclaimed as they turned to the voice to see a man with blond hair, wearing a dark coloured uniform. Next to him, is a tan-skinned woman, with short white hair.
"Let's hear what they have to say."
"Fantaisie, stand down." Said Akiri, and Fantaisie complied as she lowered her weapon.
"Whatever, just make it quick." Takt speaks out. "We're in a hurry."
"Takt!" Anna scolded him for his rude behaviour.
"What? We're going to New Orleans, aren't we?"
"That works out perfectly then." The man known as Schindler said. "This train is heading to Houston. That's on your way to New Orleans. Why don't we give you a ride?" He offered with a smile.
(Timeskip)
After loading up their cars on the train, the group is now gathered in a carriage, being served dessert and tea, with the exception of Destiny and Fantaisie. The man named Schindler is sitting across from them, along with his two Musicarts.
"We are currently on a mission transporting cargo." Schindler explained. "We're transporting the Black Night Siderites we retrieved, to a Symphonica facility."
"What's Symphonica doing messing around with Black Night Siderites?" Akiri asked, narrowing his eyes at the man.
"That is classified information." He answered, but that just made Akiri even more suspicious. "Anyway, that is also why we might seem a little on edge. I hope you understand."
"O-of course." Anna stuttered. "We're the ones who should apologize."
"Commander..." The blue-haired Musicart let out.
"There's no need to hide it." Replied Schindler. "Now that we've invited them on board, it's only right to tell them the truth. And it isn't as though they are complete outsiders." He said, looking specifically at Destiny and Fantaisie. "They do have Musicarts with them, after all."
"I'm Destiny." The girl introduced herself as she then curiously stares at the dessert on the plate in front of Takt. "This is a really interesting dessert."
"Please have some, Cosette." Anna offered, pushing her plate in front of the curious Musicart.
"Thank you very much." She said as she grabbed a fork. "Then I shall have a taste." Her eyes widened the moment the dessert entered her mouth. "This taste... It's so smooth. I did not know such sweets existed." She said before eating it at a fast pace.
"Don't just scarf it down." Takt said. "That's gross."
Akiri then noticed that Fantaisie is staring intently at his dessert.
"Here." He said as he offered her his plate. "Go ahead."
"Really?" Fantaisie asked back and he just gave her a nod. "Okay, then..." She then went and took a bite. She quietly squeals in delight as she enjoyed the sweetness of the dessert.
A smile grew on Akiri's face, looking at the sight.
"What truly unique Musicarts." Schindler said, peering at both Destiny and Fantaisie with interest. "Because of my position, I have seen every Musicarts in this country. But I've never seen a type like them. How curious."
Akiri just glared at the man as Destiny kept wolfing down her dessert and Fantaisie is quietly, and slowly enjoying hers.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Chief Commander of Symphonica, Felix Schindler." The man introduced himself to his guests. "Are you two the owner?" He asked looking specifically at Akiri and Takt. "If you both don't mind, could you tell me how you obtained these Musicarts? These are weapons you don't see just randomly walking around town."
"Weapons?" Anna muttered.
"Yes. Musicarts are weapons." Said the blond. "They are tools we created to defeat D2s. You called this one, Cosette." He gestures towards Destiny who took one last bite of her dessert. "Did you happen to know the human of this body? Then, I must wonder how she..."
"We don't have to answer you." Takt let out.
"...I see." He then looked at Akiri. "Then, how about you? I assume you must know the host body as well."
"Sorry, but that's classified information." Akiri answered with a smug grin.
The blue-haired Musicart stepped forward, seemingly irritated by the guest's behaviours towards her commander, but the man only held up his hand, stopping her.
"They must be tired due to the long journey. Let them get some proper rest first." He said. "It's still a long way from Houston. We'll have plenty of time to talk."
(Timeskip)
"Here's your room." The blue-haired girl said as she led them to a carriage that is further back the train.
"Isn't this a bit small for five people?" Akiri said, looking around the cramped compartment that they've been provided with.
"Be grateful that you're even given a room." She replied. "I'll give you a warning. You are not to leave this room unless we tell you."
"We can't leave?" Anna said. "But..."
"What are we, prisoners?" Takt asked as he sat down, putting his hands in his pockets.
"I guess this how Symphonica treat all their guests, huh?" Akiri said as he sat down on the adjacent seats.
"I do not trust you." She replied. "We at Symphonica have a very important mission to protect the people. This is a heavy responsibility, and failure is not permitted."
"Yet you've failed many times before." Akiri mumbled quietly.
"If you interfere with our mission." She threatens as she brandished her sword in front of them.
"Jeez. Can't you even talk to someone without threatening them?" Takt said, as him and Akiri were seemingly unfazed with the weapon in front of them.
"So uncivilized..." Akiri mocked.
"What did you say?" She said, now looking at Akiri with furrowed brows and gritted teeth. "How dare you call me that!"
"How else would you want me to mock you then? I take requests." Said Akiri with a smirk, provoking her as Takt let out a snicker.
"Why, you brats...!" She growled.
"We are not brats. Try to keep that into that uncivilized brain of yours."
Meanwhile, Destiny is looking out the window with a bad feeling. She then closes her eyes to focus on the surrounding area.
"There are D2s." She said as she opened her eyes.
"I'm detecting them as well." Added Fantaisie just a moment later. "Some airborne types closing in."
Takt's whole right arm then disappeared as Destiny had entered armoured mode.
"I shall engage." Said Destiny.
"Okay. Go." He ordered.
"Wait!" The blue-haired Musicart exclaimed, trying to stop her, but Destiny had already smashed through the window of the carriage got on top of the train.
"You too, Fantaisie." Akiri said as Fantaisie transforms, his left arm disappearing in the process and Fantaisie follows after Destiny.
Takt followed, climbing to the top of the carriage and Akiri went to do the same as they both climbed up to see the two Musicarts fighting against the D2s that had landed on the train.
Destiny was shooting down the line in the sky, while Fantaisie handles the ones that managed to land on the train.
"Takt, Destiny, control your power output." Said Akiri as he notices that Destiny is releasing too much energy with her shots.
"I'm trying." Takt replied. Destiny complied, now lowered her power output and using just enough in her shots to take down the approaching D2s.
As they were fighting, they saw that the blue-haired Musicart had joined I'm on the action, killing off some of the D2s that have landed using her sword.
"I told you not to act without permission!" She scolded, but the two Conductors decided to ignore her. "How can people like you become Conductors...?"
Destiny then looked above. "More incoming." She notified them as they looked to see another pack of airborne D2's closing in.
"Where's the other one?" Takt asked, looking at the blue-haired Musicart. "The one that was next to you earlier?"
"She is the commander's Musicart. Her duty is to guard him." She replied. "Therefore, unless he is in danger, she will not act."
"If she doesn't get out here, the whole train would be in danger." Said Akiri.
"She doesn't have to."
The Musicart shouted as she leapt into the air and hurls her shield towards the incoming D2s. Her shield glows brightly as it flew through the air, cutting three of the monsters in the air before returning to its wielder as she landed on her feet.
"As long as I am here, they will not touch this train."
"Some confidence you have there." Akiri said as he swings his baton. Fantaisie followed the motion as she throws her scythe towards another pack, killing them all as it flew back at the girl and she catches it.
At that moment, one of the D2s managed to get behind Takt unnoticed and was about to attack.
The blue-haired Musicart saw it as well. "Behind you!"
Destiny quickly reacted, jumping high and aiming her weapon in rifle mode before pulling the trigger. A powerful red beam shoots out, disintegrating the monster completely.
"Elimination complete." Destiny declared as she landed.
"Hey, were you planning to blow me away with that shot?" Takt scolded his Musicart. "You need to learn how to control your powers already."
Destiny turns around to face him. "My decision was appropriate. Because of it, the D2 was eliminated, and the situation has been resolved." She said. "If you were that worried about getting injured, you should have taken evasive manoeuvres."
"I'm not going to do something so unnecessary." Takt answered.
As the pair started arguing, Akiri had noticed that the train had suddenly started to apply the brakes and is gradually slowing down. "What the...?"
"That's enough, you two!" Scolded the blue-haired Musicart. "More importantly, the train..."
The two stopped their bickering and they looked up ahead to see a huge crater in front of the train. The railroad tracks ahead have been destroyed, making the train unable to move any further.
(Timeskip)
"We'll work on it as fast as possible. But even then, it'll still take half a day." Said a construction worker to the blue-haired Musicart and a Symphonica officer as they stand next to the crater on the ground.
"Half a day..." She muttered as she glances towards the group of workers that are trying to fix the railroad.
"This is all your fault." Takt blamed Destiny as the two of them stood by at front of the train, with Akiri and Fantaisie standing nearby.
"It's your fault, Maestro." His Musicart responded back.
"It's both of your faults!" The blue-haired Musicart scolded. She then pointed towards Akiri and Fantaisie. "And don't think you're out of this too!"
"Okay, I had enough of this." Akiri muttered as he walks over towards her until they are face to face with each other. "Listen here, I don't see the reason why you should be upset with us right now."
"I warned you that you would pay if you got on the way of our mission!"
"Got in the way? We only tried to help."
"No one asked you to. Now, don't interfere ever again, or there will be consequences!" She shouted before walking away with a huff.
They then heard someone laughing at them from behind and they saw that it was the white-haired Musicart, sitting on top of the train, watching them with a smirk.
"Looks like you got scolded." She said. "Say, want me to tell you how to get to her good side?"
The grinning Musicart then dropped down to the ground. Akiri just stayed silent as she walks up to him and she leans close towards his ear.
"Make her yours by force~" She whispered. "She hasn't concluded a contract with any Conductor. Despite how tough she looks, she's actually a softie inside. Isn't that adorable?"
"She doesn't have a Conductor?" Akiri asked.
"There are Musicarts like her as well, but they are very rare." She replied. "That's why she's very... sought-after."
"Not interested." He dismisses her as she giggles in amusement.
"What an amusing boy..."
"Do not get any closer." Fantaisie said, glaring at the dark-skinned Musicart.
"And you..." She went closer to Fantaisie with a smile on her face. "Your eyes are very pretty..." She said as she leans right to her face, looking at her straight in the eyes. "I was just thinking of getting some ornaments in those colours." She brings her fingers close to Fantaisie's eyes. "So maybe, you could give them to me?"
"You'd have to pry them out of my dead body if you want it." Fantaisie growled.
"I see. That's too bad." The Musicart took a step back. "I'm starting to like you guys." She said as she walked away without another word with Akiri and Fantaisie still glaring at her.
(Timeskip)
The sky is now tinted orange as the sun had started to set.
Akiri is currently outside watching the view, leaning against the side of the train when Fantaisie walked up to him.
"Maestro. We got incoming." She informed as they looked over to see a horde of the same flying type D2s from earlier, heading towards them.
"Why are there so many?!" Anna exclaimed as she looks at the oncoming threat.
"They're attracted to the train." Akiri answered as he glanced back towards one of the carriages. "More specifically what's on it."
"But that's impossible." Said the blue-haired Musicart as she hops on top of the front carriage with her sword in hand. "The Black Night Siderites have been properly sealed."
"Clearly, that's not the case." Akiri replied as he looks at the huge amount of D2s approaching.
"Let's do this." Takt said as Destiny transformed and they saw the horde of monsters coming down towards them.
Akiri looks to his Musicart. "Fantaisie."
"Right." She replied as she too, changed forms.
"Performance begin!"
"Concerto commence!"
The two Conductors shouted as both of their Musicarts responded, materializing their weapons and rushing straight towards the oncoming horde as they entered into engagement.
Destiny leads as she starts killing off the first approaching D2s.
Fantaisie splits off from her and went on to kill some others heading towards the back of the train.
"How many times must I tell you two not to act without permission?!" The blue-haired Musicart scolded as she summons her shield.
"If you'd rather fight this horde on your own, then you're welcome to keep complaining." Akiri said to her and she scoffs before jumping into battle.
Looking ahead, everyone saw that more airborne D2s are fast approaching, the sky is almost filled with the monsters.
"There are still so many..." The blue-haired Musicart muttered as she then killed off two attacking monsters.
"Fantaisie, more to your left!" Yelled Akiri, and his Musicart responded accordingly.
He then saw Takt going down on one knee, half of his face is now red as he is breathing heavily, clearly exhausted. As a result, Destiny's performance suffered as well as she is knocked away by one of the monsters she was fighting and crashed onto the cliffside.
"Destiny!" Fantaisie shouted as she was about to run to her aid, but she was blocked by some D2s that had landed in front of her.
The blue-haired Musicart stabbed one in the head before collapsing down, using her sword as support.
"At this rate, we'll be overwhelmed..."
Akiri thought as he started to look around the area. He then saw that the D2s are coming from in between two overhangs a few distances in front of them.
"If we can collapse those overhangs, it'll crush most of the D2s and also block their path..."
He thought as he then turns towards Takt. "Takt! Cover us!"
He just nodded and Akiri then looked at his Musicart. "Fantaisie. I need you to use full power."
Fantaisie had a look of uncertainty on her face. "But... If I do that, you'll-"
"Do it. That's an order."
"...Yes. Maestro." She said, with a hint of reluctance in her voice.
He then thrusts his baton upwards and a shockwave could be felt from Fantaisie, a blue aura could be seen surrounding her as she got into a stance, tightly gripping her scythe as the blade began to glow a bright blue colour.
With a deep breath, Akiri thrusts his baton towards one of the overhangs and Fantaisie swings her scythe. A thin stream of blue energy shot out from the blade towards the cliffside, hitting it.
"Where are you aiming at?!" The blue-haired Musicart exclaimed as she saw what he is doing.
Akiri then suddenly slumped down to the ground, sweating heavily with ragged breathing.
Takt looked at him and his eyes widened in shock as the left side of Akiri's face is now completely red, just like what had happened to him a few times before.
"One more!" He shouted as he now waves his baton towards the other cliffside.
"You're nothing but trouble!" The blue-haired girl yelled as she slices another D2 coming at Akiri, protecting the defenceless boy.
Fantaisie swings her weapon again, and just like last time, a stream of energy shot out and hits its target perfectly.
"You missed every attack!" The blue-haired Musicart shouted. "A Conductor like you should-"
Her sentence were cut off when they heard a loud crumbling sound and they looked ahead to see that the cliffsides Fantaisie had attacked is now slowly tumbling down.
Everyone watches in shock as heavy rocks crash to the ground, crushing every D2s that were caught underneath.
After Destiny shot down the remaining stragglers, the battle is over. Fantaisie twirls her scythe.
"That was where you were aiming to begin with..." The blue-haired girl said.
"Don't look so surprised." Akiri replied, still sitting on the ground as he is catching his breath. "Maybe if you've paid more attention instead of complaining, you'd realize what I was planning."
He then saw the Musicart walking up to him.
"But thanks to you, we are able to protect the train." She said, a little smile forming on her face. "Thank you, brat."
"The name's not brat..." He said, rolling his eyes and letting out a sigh. "It's Akiri."
"I see. In that case... I'm Valkyrie." She introduced herself, putting her arm over her chest.
"Valkyrie... Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, huh?." He lifts his head up at her with a small smile on his face. "Now that's a good one."
Her cheeks immediately went red, seeing his smile and she turns around, covering her face with her hands and Akiri looked at her confused.
"Hm? Did I say something bad?"
"P-pay no mind! I-i-it's nothing!" She shouted, with her face completely red up to her ears.
Fantaisie's head turns to the side as she felt something fast approaching. "Maestro, there's-"
At that moment, they felt the ground shaking and they looked atop the cliff to see an enormous D2 emerging from the ground with a loud roar.
"There are still more?" Valkyrie exclaimed as she summons her weapons, but she immediately drops to the ground exhausted.
"Fantaisie, can you still fight?" Akiri asked.
"I can try..." Fantaisie replied, however she seems to be exhausted as well.
"Hey, I can't take it anymore." A new voice spoke out and they saw that it was the tan-skinned Musicart, sitting on top of the train with her legs dangling. "It's not fair that they get to have all the fun. Come on, please?" She asked, looking at Commander Felix.
"You have my permission, Hell." He replied.
A sadistic smile grew on her face as she drops to the ground and reaches down to her feet. A wheel appears on both her legs.
"Now, let us fall together..." Muttered the Musicart now known as Hell as she speeds off towards the giant monster ahead. She kept the smirk on her face as she climbs up the cliff.
As she got to the top, she spins her whole body and used that momentum to deliver a powerful kick, right in the head of the creature as she lets out a burst of crazed laughter.
She then spins in a horizontal axis before hitting the D2 with another kick, finishing it off as it bursts into purple clouds of dust.
Everyone except Valkyrie and Schindler looked shocked seeing the single Musicart dismiss a D2 of that size like it was nothing.
"So that is Hell..."
Akiri thought as he kept glaring at the Musicart.
"One of the Musicarts that dad worked on..."
(Timeskip)
They rode on the train for a few more hours. It had now gotten dark when they had arrived at their stop, a shipyard. A crane is seen unloading the cargo from the train onto a large cargo ship.
"Once they are brought in, they will be sent to a research facility in Boston." Valkyrie is currently reporting to the commander with Hell standing next to him.
"They will not be going to Boston." The man answered back. "We are changing plans and taking them elsewhere."
"Wh-what?"
"Your job is done here. We will take care of the rest." He said before turning around on his heels and walking away and Hell followed.
"B-but..."
"Did you not hear me? We don't need you anymore." Valkyrie is left standing there, looking dejected.
"Hey, what are you going to do about them?" Hell asked her Conductor as she walks beside him.
The man had a smirk on his face. "Stray dogs must be collared."
Elsewhere, the group is currently planning their route towards their next stop.
"Let's see... From here to New Orleans we'll have to take this road." Akiri said as he pointed to the map, laid out on the hood of Anna's car. Destiny was standing next to Anna, eating snacks out of a paper bag, while Takt is leaning against the car, looking out to the sea.
Anna then leaned closer to the map to see where he was pointing at. "Then, it's gonna be an all-nighter, isn't it?" She asked, looking at Akiri.
"Unfortunately, yes." He answered before looking at her. "You good with that?"
"Yeah, I think so." Anna replied.
They then heard footsteps coming from behind them and they saw that Schindler and Hell are approaching them.
"There's something I wanted to tell you before you depart." The man said and they all turned towards him. "You did magnificently in battle out there. Both of you are on par with any official Conductor. And that's why I have a proposal. How about you make use of those abilities for me."
Both Akiri and Takt just silently glared at him.
"As the Chief Commander of Symphonica, I'd be able to put the two of you in a suitable position." Schindler said. "What do you say? Will you-"
"I refuse." Takt said bluntly and the man seemed shocked to hear that.
"Didn't you hear him?" Akiri said. "We said no. And if you would excuse us, we're in a hurry." With that, Takt got inside the car while Akiri got into his and they drives away, leaving Schindler feeling furious.
"Takt Asahina... Akiri Shiranobu..." He muttered. "I won't forget those names...!"
(Timeskip)
"Fantaisie?" Akiri called her name as he was driving.
"Yes?" The girl responded.
"I... I know we got off with the wrong foot. And I was mostly to blame for that." He started, and Fantaisie looked towards him with a surprised expression. "I've been thinking about it for the last few days. After what happened back in Vegas. I was thinking that we should start over."
"Are you sure? But you said..."
"I know what I said... But after giving it a few more thoughts, I think I can try giving it a chance. It won't be easy, but I'm hoping to improve our relationship better. What do you say?"
"I would love that!" She accidentally shouted, feeling a bit too excited and she covered her mouth, hiding a faint blush. "I'm sorry..." She apologized and he just chuckled.
"It's okay." He said as he held out a hand for a handshake. "I look forward to our new friendship together. Fantaisie." He said.
Fantaisie then saw something she had never caught even a glimpse of before. The boy was giving her a genuine smile. Something she had never seen him do throughout all their time travelling together. Seeing that made her feel warm inside for some reason and her cheeks got redder.
Fantaisie looked at his outstretched hand for a moment before grasping it firmly with hers. "I look forward to fighting by your side. Maestro." She said with a smile of her own, a red tint is still visible on her cheeks and they shook hands.
She felt elated, finally getting closer to him than ever before, and it should get better from here on out.
