Chapter 23

3rd Person POV

Baekhyun had of course demanded he be in charge of getting Jimin his suit for the School Dance- well not buying it of course but with his expertise in making the blonde boy look good, he was not going to pass up the opportunity to doll him up for his dance.

"I won't be there so I can go vicariously through your look- no Seokjin IM taking credit for this!" Baekhyun snapped as Jimin's older brother was about to suggest another suit hanging in the fancy store they were currently perusing through.

The pink haired boy insisted he join the two on their suit shopping, his choice of words being, "I will not let that absolute animal of a boy choose what you're wearing to a school event- he'll put you in a sheer top and leather pants if I'm not there to tone him down!"

After a bit of back and forth arguing they agreed to both take Jimin shopping as long as Baekhyun was the one who ultimately got to get Jimin ready.

The youngest among them honestly didn't have a say in the matter- and it wasn't like he cared all that much anyway since his boyfriend couldn't come to the dance with him... he had contemplated not going at all but Hoseok cut in saying there was no way he was going if his best friend wasn't; and Hoseok loves the school dance.

So, without protest, Jimin let himself be dragged around stores all day by his eccentric neighbour and his dramatic brother whose suggestions were getting shut down before they even left his mouth.

"Oooh Jimin have you thought about wearing white? Everyone always wears black or navy- white would look so good on you!" Baekhyun squealed as he pulled three apparently different white suits of the racks- they all looked the same to Jimin.

"You know what- that's actually the best thing to leave your mouth all day." Jin agreed and the two pulled Jimin into the changing rooms. The short boy sighed as he got changed, he really didn't see the point in any of this, there was no reason to try and look good when Jungkook wouldn't be there with him.

But he kept his mouth shut and smiled half-heartedly each time he stepped out the booth in a new suit and his brother and friend smothered him in compliments. "How many more do you think I'll need to try on?" He questioned after the three white suits were hung back on their racks.

"That's impossible to answer Jiminie, I'll know exactly what you need when I see you in it." Baekhyun shrugged and they left the store to check for some more outside the shopping centre they'd been walking around all day.

"I really do think we should go with white, those suits just didn't do you justice though, but white is the best so far by a long shot." Jin suggested and Baekhyun actually agreed with him for once, "I'm gonna stand out too much if I wear white." Jimin mustered up the courage to complain a little and the other two frowned at him.

"Jimin you'll stand out no matter what because you're gorgeous." Baekhyun rolled his eyes as if it was the most obvious thing and Jimin was just being dumb, "that's not true. Not many people from school pay me much notice." He shrugged and Jin sighed.

"Minnie you're beautiful and I know you're sad you're not going to be able to spend this dance with Jungkook, but I don't want you to let that ruin what could be a really great night with your friends." He stroked his brothers head softly and Jimin rolled his eyes but smiled nonetheless.

"Yeah, thanks Hyung, okay I'll keep trying on your stupid suits and try and be excited for the dance." He huffed and grinned at both boys, Baekhyun hooked an arm through Jimin's and pulled him into the last shop they knew that sold suites at this specific centre.

"This place is so expensive though guys... it's just a dance it's not that important..." Jimin mumbled while inspecting the price tags of some of the suits, "imagine how much the girls will be paying for their dresses and stop complaining, I'll help pay." Jin smiled and Jimin shook his head.

"I can't let you do that Hyung!" He protested and his older brother just raised an eyebrow, "well it's not up to you, I'm paying for at least a third of whatever it costs, especially since we're the ones making you go all out." Jimin was just about to make another defensive statement about how there was no way his brother was paying for any of his school dance suit- when a loud gasp pulled both their attentions to the back of the store.

"OH MY GOD!" Baekhyun practically screamed catching the few other people in the store's attention in the process, "what Baekhyun what happened!?" Jimin panicked as he and his brother rushed over.

The brunette turned slowly, jaw hanging open and in his hands he gripped the most over the top yet gorgeous sparkling suit Jimin had ever seen in his life.

"You... NEED! To wear this. Jimin I'm not joking- you don't even need to try it on THIS IS IT!" Baekhyun spoke, his excitement uncontainable and his eyes sparkled almost as bright as the suit he was shaking in his hands.

"It's... very pretty... but if I was worried I'd stand out in White this is even more insane- and Baek how expensive is this?" Jimin mumbled but his eyes wouldn't leave the suit he was slowly growing attached to- he really did want to at least try it on.

"Jimin don't look at the price- try it on." Jin looked at the younger boy sternly and Baekhyun held the sparkling jacket out to his friend. Jimin looked between them before sighing and staring into the beautiful material, he huffed and made his way to a changing cubicle.

Only the jacket was sparkly, but that wasn't the only thing that made the suit so beautiful... once Jimin had the whole combination on he admired himself in the mirror, falling further in love with the way this suit looked- and the way it made him look.

He stepped out to show his little shopping entourage and blushed when both boys stared him up and down with their mouths hanging open, "oh my god my baby brother is all grown up." Jin finally mumbled before pulling Jimin into his arms.

"Hyung- hey what are you getting all emotional for?" Jimin laughed a little and the pink haired boy hit him gently, "you just look so mature and handsome but also still so cute and pretty and just wow Minnie, please promise me you'll get this one?" He begged with rounded puppy eyes and Baekhyun nodded enthusiastically.

"Look Jimin yes it's only for a school dance and no your boyfriend can't come but he said he'd see you before you go- don't you want Jungkook to see you all dressed up like this? You look amazing and that's before any makeup or anything!" Jimin thought hard and glanced into the eyes of his two hopeful companions.

"Can I please at least look at the price- I didn't wanna spend more than 300,000 won... (like £200 or $250) I've been super busy recently I couldn't get a job over spring because you know- kidnapped, and then summer... I've been busy you know?" He whined and thought about his birthday and Christmas savings and how little this one school dance meant to him.

"Jimin I've already said I'm paying for some! Look... it's like more than double your budget but Minnie look at it!!!" It was Jin's turn to get over excited now and Jimin sighed heavily, "Hyung... I'll feel guilty if you pay." He spoke with a pout, "oh my god Jimin fine! Jin-Hyung is saying he wants to pay for some anyway but the reason I'm pushing so much is because Jungkook told me he wanted to help buy you your suit- he told me not to hold back on the price and to pick you something you love."

Jimin gaped at Baekhyun's confession and felt his chest go fuzzy, "I can't let Jungkook pay..." he mumbled and the two older boys buried their faces in their hands, "Jimin we're buying the suit, Jungkook already gave me 400,000 won and told me he didn't want it back so either I spend it on the suit or I buy myself some new shoes."

Before the blonde boy could protest the two were making their way to the counter, talking to the cashier and pointing in his direction, "go and change Jimin we'll be paying." Jin practically ordered, turning away again before Jimin could get a word in.

The short boy huffed with a blush crawling up his cheeks, heading back to change, feeling defeated.

Why is everyone trying to spoil me, it just makes me feel guilty, I understand they're trying to be nice but it isn't nice! Well... it is nice, it's actually really sweet... but it still makes me feel incompetent!

By the time he'd finished ranting to himself he was back in his jeans and his- Jungkook's- hoodie, making his way back to his friends with the overly expensive suit in his arms, pout prominent on his lips.

"Stop sulking your boyfriend is doing something nice for you, and your brother, I'm gonna make you look stunning- more so than you do anyway- and you're going to have an amazing night tomorrow okay Jiminie?" Baekhyun squeezed the younger boy's shoulder and smiled in reassurance.

Jimin nodded and even though he still felt like a spoilt brat- he managed a small smile, "thank you for finding this Baek, and thank you for helping pay Hyung... I'll have to thank Jungkook... 400,000... that's so much..." he chewed on his lower lip again feeling guilty that his boyfriend who couldn't even come to the dance with him was going to spend that much money on Jimin's outfit.

~

"Now you're really all grown up... wahhh Minnie-Ah, you're so beautiful."

Jin was stood in his younger brother's bedroom doorway, Baekhyun doing the finishing touches to the boy's blonde locks, the school dance in just over an hour.

Jimin didn't even look at his brother but he blushed as he continued to look at himself in the mirror, "god I look so over the top..." he whined softly but his smile still stretched across his slightly rosy cheeks- that were much redder below the makeup.

"No Jimin you look amazing, don't diss all my hard work, I'm assuming Jungkook is gonna be here soon?" Baekhyun scolded the younger before questioning the pink haired boy still stood in the doorway, "yeah he told me to make sure Jimin was ready and to tell him text him when he is."

Jimin nodded and tore his eyes from the mirror, standing out of the chair and doing a twirl in the middle of the room, "definitely ready?" He questioned with a deep breath and for some reason he was nervous for Jungkook to see him dressed up so smartly and again "over the top".

The other two admired the look again and nodded.

(Teehee I had to)

Jimin reached for his phone and sent a message to his boyfriend letting him know he was ready and that Hoseok and his other friends would be there in half an hour, so he had that much time to spend with the vampire before he had to leave.

He thanked both Baekhyun and Jin one last time and they left him alone to wait for Jungkook, he was expecting the boy to be knocking on his window within a minute, so he had to hold back a squeal when he heard his doorbell ring.

"It's for me Eomma!" He called as he heard his mother leaving his parents' room from across the hall, "oh, okay Jiminie, please remember to come and see me before you leave, I need to get some pictures of you and your friends all dressed up!" She smiled sweetly at her son before going back into her room.

Jimin hopped down the stairs and chewed on his lip to suppress his giddy grin, taking one least deep breath before opening the door.

What he saw was far from what he expected... Jungkook was wearing his own suit, with a beautiful bouquet in his hands, grinning from ear to ear until a look of awe and wonder fluttered across his face, his eyes scanning the younger boy.

(Duuuudeesss I think this was just an excuse for me to peruse through all the Jimin/Jungkook in a suit images across the internet)

"Wow... how did I get so lucky huh?" He finally breathed, billion watt smile returning to his face as Jimin stepped out the house and shut the door, "my parents are home we can't go inside, but you're not the lucky one, have you seen yourself Jungkookie-ah...?" Jimin felt the heat on his cheeks as he took in the image of the vampire he could call his boyfriend.

"For you, although I'm now realise no matter how hard I tried, they're no where near as beautiful as you are." Jungkook spoke cheesily, offering Jimin the bouquet of flowers, "oh shush, they're gorgeous Jagiya, thank you." He grinned smelling the flowers before taking Jungkook's hand that was stretched out for him.

"I can't believe how much money you gave Baek for this- and now flowers too... you're too much!" Jimin half scolded but he was far from mad, "only the best for you, my love~" Jungkook teased and brought his small hand up to his lips to press a soft kiss to his knuckles, "I love you." He whispered against Jimin's soft milky skin, "I love you too Kook-Ah." He responded shyly, stepping forward and wrapping his arms over Jungkook's shoulders.

They inched closer with their eyes locked, noses brushing softly, until Jimin closed his eyes and captured Jungkook's lips in his own.

Both boys were smiling as they kissed, slow and soft, their bodies pressed together, when they pulled back Jungkook began to sway, humming softly.

"Is this as close as I'll get to dancing with you?" Jimin sighed, and Jungkook kissed the corner of his lips, "this is enough for now." He mumbled moving a hand from Jimin's waist to hold onto the boy's smaller hand.

He continued to hum softly as he released the blonde boy, twirling him before they both laughed softly and pressed together again, "I wish we didn't have to be a secret..." Jimin whispered with his head resting in the crook of Jungkook's neck.

Jungkook didn't want to reply, he felt the same, Jimin knew he did, so instead he placed a kiss on the boy's head and they kept dancing- well, still swaying at least, feet shuffling a little below them.

"Ah, your friends are early." The older boy suddenly mumbled as he spotted a white jeep practically flying towards them both, music blaring and Hoseok waving out the window.

Jimin looked up and giggled at his friends, "you're early... you ruined my moment." He pouted as they stopped the car and the music, "sorry Jiminie~ you look gorgeous by the way, this suit! Jeez Jimin!" His best friend apologised half-heartedly before wrapping him into a hug.

"Woah Jiminie you're gonna have everyone jealous tonight!" Kai called from still inside the jeep, Kyungsoo frowning and hitting him lightly in response, "not me of course Soo-ah." The boy defended and kissed his boyfriend softly.

"I'm jealous." Jungkook grumbled before pulling Jimin back to him and kissing him, "everyone's gonna be able to see you all night but I'll be stuck waiting for it to finish to see you." He complained and Jimin shook his head with a pout.

"I'll be missing you too~ oh- guys! My Eomma wanted a photo of us all before we left." He suddenly remembered his mother's request and the two other boys climbed out of Kai's jeep to make their way inside.

"Eomma! Picture time!" Jimin called, hurriedly placing his flowers in a vase before turning back to Jungkook, "just give it us a minute, you better be out here to kiss me goodbye." He raised an eyebrow to which Jungkook grinned and nodded, waiting outside as Jimin shut the front door.

"3, 2, 1, cheese!"

Once the boys had endured an almost 10 minute photo shoot, Jimin gave his mother a kiss on the cheek goodbye and the four boys rushed out the front door before she could find something to keep them behind longer.

"See, now are you glad we got here early?" Hoseok nudged Jimin as the door closed, he was about to laugh and apologise for scolding his best friend when he was suddenly pulled to the side.

"Jeez how many photos does she need." Jungkook chuckled softly at Jimin's surprised expression, "a lot apparently" he replied once he'd calmed down. Their lips met gently and Jimin pulled back with a pout, "just enjoy yourself Jagiya, dance with your friends and one day we'll have our own real dance, we can invite all our family and friends and it'll be great- just don't go letting people flirt with you okay?"

"Come on Jiminie we'll be late!" Hoseok called as all three friends climbed back into the jeep, "Hmm I'll see you after?" Jimin asked and Jungkook grinned, "of course, love you, enjoy your evening." Jungkook replied, kissing his knuckles once more.

He opened the door for Jimin and closed it as he sat into the vehicle, blowing a kiss and waving through the window as they drove off.

~

"Come on Jimin... you promised me you wouldn't sit here and sulk the whole time, come dance with me!" Hoseok whined and practically threw himself onto his best friend. Jimin had been sat at the table he and his friends claimed at the beginning of the night- for the entire night.

"You literally haven't moved since you first got here, so many people were shook when you walked in looking like that but you've just been a baby and sat here pouting all evening." He shoved Jimin's shoulder lightly and the short boy rolled his eyes.

"Fine jeez, one dance." He sighed, taking his best friend's hand as they walked onto the dance floor. He noticed Kai and Kyungsoo dancing together and felt that awful pang of jealousy in his chest, he wanted to dance like that with his boyfriend, in front of everyone.

"Jimin oh my god come here." Hoseok was almost ready to give up, not even sure he wanted to dance with someone who just looked purely miserable, but Jimin was his best friend and he was not going to give in until the boy had danced with him.

"Thank god it's not a slow song is all I can say." He chuckled, and Jimin couldn't hold back his little laugh, "ew I'd never slow dance with you." He scrunched up his nose, pretending to be disgusted before they both laughed, "see you can have fun, just enjoy the rest of the dance please Jiminie, there's only like an hour left now."

Jimin nodded, smiling apologetically at his best friend, suddenly realising what an idiot he was being. Not only had his brother, neighbour, and boyfriend- made so much effort for him to look good, his best friend was also counting on him to have a fun night, and he'd not been there with him.

"I'm sorry Hobi-Ah, let's dance for the rest of the night yeah?" He grinned, just as a super fun upbeat song started playing, both boys knew all the words and started jumping around- not just flailing about like most uncoordinated people at parties, since they both loved dance, even just their jumping around was better than most people's full blown dance routines.

Jimin was of course catching people's attention again, Hoseok wasn't lying when he mentioned how "shook" everyone was when he first arrived. Of course he stood out, the only boy in sparkles, and he even looked more dolled up and pretty than most of the girls.

After a few fun songs with the two best friends dancing together, Jimin had really loosened up and was actually enjoying himself. But then a slow song started playing, and despite the two friends being very comfortable with each other, neither one particularly wanted to slow-dance together.

They shrugged and sighed, simultaneously deciding to head back to their table, when Jimin was stopped by a tap on his shoulder. He span round and his eyes widened when he realised who wanted his attention, "hey Jimin-ah, Uhm, I've been waiting for you to start dancing all night, and I thought this was the perfect time to peel you away from Hoseok and ask you to dance with me?"

Taemin looked so hopeful, and Jimin froze.

"Jiminie just one dance will be fine go on." Hoseok whispered, nudging the short boy froward and Jimin glared daggers at him, "Uh T-Taemin Hyung I... I'm..." he gulped as his words kept getting caught in his throat and the usually gleaming boy before him started to gain a look of disappointment.

"Ah I-It's okay, it was silly of me to get my hopes up anyway." He laughed slightly but it was pretty obvious this was far from funny for any of them, "I'm sorry Taemin-Ah, I mean, maybe just one dance as friends would be okay? If that's alright?" Jimin offered, guilt eating away at his insides from the look on Taemin's face.

"Oh, that would be nice, thank you Jimin." He smiled softly and took the shorter boy's hand in his own, slow songs still playing for a few minutes as the two stepped onto the dance floor and started dancing together.

All the other couples currently dancing were more like how he and Jungkook had been out on his porch earlier in the evening, but he and Taemin kept their distance- or as much distance as you can keep while slow-dancing together.

When the song finished and another slow song started Jimin suddenly noticed everyone looking away- since most people had previously been staring holes into him, he noticed it pretty quickly- and was intrigued to see what everyone was now looking at.

He turned to face the entrance of the hall and all the wind was knocked out of his lungs, he stopped dancing immediately and Taemin let go of his hand and waist to look at him in confusion, "what's up Jimin?" He questioned before following his eyes, "who's that?"

That was Jeon Jungkook, stalking towards them both in all his chiseled handsome glory, "excuse me, but may I have this dance?" He smirked softly as he reached the duo, staring straight into Jimin's eyes, "dude I'm clearly dancing with him who even are you?" Taemin snapped but Jimin was already taking his boyfriend's hand.

"What are you doing here?" He mumbled, eyes still locked on to those beautiful deep brown ones, "I just needed to be here, there's not long left, figured I'd just sneak in for the very end." He replied, placing a hand on the blonde's waist and Taemin cleared his throat.

"Jimin, what the heck are you doing?" He frowned, clearly very confused by the situation, "oh... Taemin-Ah I'm sorry, Uhm, this is Jungkook, he's..."

"I'm his boyfriend." Jungkook cut in, now he wasn't the biggest fan of Taemin, but he knew not to get possessive or jealous, he'd learnt his lesson, and so felt no need to give the boy any dirty looks.

"Oh... so that's why you kept rejecting all my advances- but, why didn't you just tell me you were seeing someone Jimin? I feel like an idiot now..." Taemin sighed and started to blush a little, "well as you can tell Jungkook doesn't go to our school, and he's a little older than us and we... well this is the first time we've ever really openly been a couple in front of people to be honest."

Jimin looked back up to Jungkook briefly, smiling so softly, "Ah well, I'll leave you to it then, sorry for hitting on your boyfriend." Taemin apologised to Jungkook who just laughed, "you're alright, you didn't know, thanks for being so cool about it though." Jungkook smiled at him and Taemin seemed to stutter a little, making Jimin burst into laughter as the poor boy scurried off.

"What? What did I do?" Jungkook questioned with wide eyes and Jimin just shook his head, calming down his laughter and pressing closer to the tall boy, "it's just you, I told you everyone would be jealous, you're gorgeous Jungkookie-ah, Taemin was a little star struck by that beautiful smile of yours." Jimin explained and the vampire grinned.

"Hm well then we'll just steal everyone's attention, I noticed how they were all staring at you before I arrived, we're clearly the best looking couple at this dance." Jungkook spoke, oozing with confidence as he placed both hands on Jimin's waist.

The shorter boy licked his lips, sensually running his hands up Jungkook's chest and over his shoulders, resting them back there and somehow pushing their bodies closer together, "hmm don't be doing that when we're in public, how do you feel about pda?" He raised an eyebrow teasingly.

Jimin responded by pushing their noses together, "kiss me." He breathed and Jungkook did just that, pulling Jimin's thick lower lip into his mouth and delving in with his tongue, it was messy and hot and Jimin couldn't believe he was doing something so intimate in front of all his classmates.

As they were kissing Jimin suddenly felt a sharpness graze his tongue and pulled back in panic, "Jungkook your fangs!" He hissed and the brunette blinked rapidly, keeping his lips pressed together so nobody would see his teeth, "sorry... I got caught up in the moment." He apologised after a moment of panicked silence.

His fangs were gone again and Jimin let out a breath of relief, burying his face in the crook of Jungkook's neck, another slow song started playing and the DJ explained it was the last song of the night.

(Play the music at the top now :))

Jimin left his head on Jungkook's shoulder, they were practically just hugging now, not a single part of their bodies that wasn't touching, "I'm so glad you came." He mumbled and Jungkook placed a kiss on his hair.

"I knew I was going to come before I'd even given Baekhyun the money for your suit, although, I haven't told anyone... so I'm preparing for Yoongi and Namjoon to hate me when I get home." He sighed and Jimin pouted against the skin of his neck, "but it's not like anyone knows what you are... as far as they're concerned you're just a very attractive boy."

They laughed slightly and Jimin lifted his head to look up into Jungkook's eyes, "now that people have seen us together once, can't we just... not be a secret anymore?" He pleaded and the vampire sighed, "Jimin only the people in this hall know I exist... so unless for some reason word spreads- which I doubt it would since we're just a couple of kids at a school dance- then we technically are still a secret."

Jimin nodded, his pout unchanging until Jungkook leant down to kiss it away. The smaller boy leant up into the kiss, not letting Jungkook pull back after a small peck like he'd planned. They kissed much sweeter this time, and with the cheesy romance music in the background Jimin felt like he was in a movie.

They were still swaying softly, feet moving in such a way that caused them to gradually spin in slow circles, and Jimin felt like they were in their own world- like a bubble had surrounded them and the music was all for them as they kissed and danced.

"Thank you... so much." He breathed as they pulled apart and Jungkook smiled so brightly, his eyes shining as he scanned his beautiful boyfriend, "I love you." He mumbled, brushing their noses together, which was apparently their new favourite thing, "I love you too."
