Chapter 51 - She Did Just That

Bubbly had always wanted to believe that everyone could be a good person.

If they just tried.

People were never pure, nor were they never truly evil. It was like a weird combination of colors, all mashed together into something that was a mix of both good and bad. All they would need was a chance, just a chance, and they could change their ways.

She's seen others change because of that chance.

Razz had been an unstable boy who just wanted to prove himself, but when she had contacted him, seeing the Kingdom had filled him with enough determination to change his attitude for everything. She had tried her best to give others around her hope, to give them a reason to keep to their good side.

But, people also had bad sides.

And she was no different than the others.

It wasn't like it wasn't intentional, on that stormy night. Oh no, it was fully intentional. She had learned what it was like to feel pure rage, only to then grow to regret her actions months later when she had learned about the persons family, their friends who missed them dearly.

Perhaps that day was the reason why she took the idea that nobody should die to heart. After Gaster had broken her beliefs, she had them broken even more by the women, only to than have them reestablished with a single picture.

That's all it took.

It was funny, how people can change due to one little thing. Because of one experiment, her ideals had completely been flipped upside down, before a picture made her reevaluate her life choices.

It was a wild ride for a life, twist and turns throwing her about like a mere rag doll on the ride of life. Life had punched her in the gut a few times, but she would make sure it didn't happen again. You never know someones's story, and ending it so soon would be a tragedy no one wanted to partake in.

Of course, she hadn't actually thought about this while working for Doctor Gaster. Not in this depth, anyway. Her parents had told her from the start that everyone deserved to be given a chance. Sure, someone may be stealing something, but they could always return it.

But... murder was a different level.

She had just stood there, evaluating her options as the robot, not cyborg, whizzed in front of her. A soul had been stolen from a teenage boy, almost her age, and forced into the robot with no mercy or thoughts to his family.

It was sickening.

Bubbly wanted to believe something different, that maybe, maybe this was a misunderstanding. But she knew it wasn't. Gaster had his... differences throughout the time that they had spent together in the lab, and it was obvious that he would go to extremes for something as little as a lunch.

But he could've done better, if he was just given a chance.

What if he didn't though?

There was no guarantee, after all.

She felt sick, extremely sick. She didn't want any of this!

Unfortunately, no matter how much she complained, there still was a decision to be made.

What to do with this information.

There was already so many problems people were dealing with, adding another one wouldn't help at all. Should she confront him? What if he attacked her? He never really did like her.

The brown haired human didn't know that they were backing away from the robot until her foot had collided with a large cooling box almost her size, sending both it and her crashing to the floor, causing the box to bounce open.

The smell...

Indescribable.

She couldn't describe in detail what she saw, it was too horrifying to keep in her memory. All she could recall was that she looked into empty, rotting human eyes before she was up on her feet and running. Although, she didn't make it out of the room before falling to her knees and vomiting.

Before this incident, she had always been set firm that Asgore was the ultimate bad guy. He tortured people everyday, everyone else must've been good while he was the only evil that needed to be defeated. Everyone else could be good, while he could only be bad. If you were in her Kingdom, you were good, and if you supported Asgore, you were bad. It seemed simple enough.

But after seeing those eyes... and running down the halls... she learned that it didn't matter where you were, who you were, it mattered your intentions.

Everyone could change to help good.

Some didn't want to.

It was Wocong who had found her first, who sat down the shaking girl and offered to get her some hot chocolate so that she could calm down.

She had started spitting everything out at once, chewing her finger nails anxiously as she retold the story. The soul. The body. The haunting eyes. Gaster using a soul as a power source. Gaster being the cause of the missing kid.

He just sat there and nodded, clearly being used to the idea of death. Bubbly didn't like how calm he was. She was freaking out, why wasn't he?

So, she started yelling at him. Crying again. She didn't know how to react to this situation.

She only stopped when she had knocked a glass cup off of the table, and it shattered next to her bare foot, and quickly caused her to bleed out.

That night had went by so fast she couldn't describe it in full detail. It was like a nice stroll through the woods then a shark fell out of the sky.

Sudden, and unpredictable.

The next morning the female had felt more calmer, but she hadn't gotten much sleep that night. Bags were under her eyes, her hair tangled more than usual, and her usual smile was gone.

By this time, PurpleFluffball and her close blond friend had heard about the news after Woncong had ordered that Gaster should be arrested. Thing was, he had never returned to work from the errand. He had vanished.

And that's where her accent began.

She couldn't control the the situation, not at all. It was up to the authorities to find Gaster, she wouldn't be able to help. PurpleFluffball wasn't the Queen yet, and Wocong was only a soldier in training. She was powerless in the situation.

She needed to control something.

Maybe her voice.

So, her accent began. She would combine words, add random syllables, just look at the English language in a new way. She dyed a piece of her hair, quit from being a part of the science department.

But, after some time, she had calmed down. So, she took up Wocong's offer.

Finish the robot.

The boy's soul had still remained within the metal object, and because of this, his soul couldn't be given to the family for a proper funeral, only his body. But since his soul was within a host, and the host had enough power and determination, there was always the chance that she could bring him back.

Maybe that's how she managed to recover so quickly, with that distraction. With the hope that the boy wouldn't be dead forever. She could save him, she could help.

And she ended up doing just that.

  《》《》《》

We're slowly growing closer to the end of book one!

Of course, there's a few mysteries and backstories I want to fix up before the climax of the story, like how I did with Ink, and how I'm doing with Gaster.

Obviously there's just new mysteries forming, but at least a few others are being answered.

Why don't you put your predictions in the comments? I'd like to see them!
