Chapter 5 - Morning
This was...
Interesting, to say at the least.
To think that the King believed that he could actually defeat them was a thing to laugh at. They were vampires, they were unkillable by normal weapons that Asgore possessed. No one had ever tried to get rid of them, they were the demons that everyone was supposed to fear, not try to kill.
What a stupid King.
Error leaned back in his chair, it creaking under his weight. Og course the King was stupid, he was the reason the Kingdom was one step away from being completely demolished. People were starving and dying left and right, the King has obviously turned his back to the people, it was all just going downhill.
There was no hope left for this Kingdom.
Error had been alive for thousands of years, and saw this Kingdom in it's glory days. The King then had a caring heart, and made sure every citizen was happy. However, when his child took rule, it all quickly collapsed, leaving the Kingdom hanging by a single thread. It was just a matter of time before someone cut that string.
And that person would be Error.
He had once been great friends with the previous King, and didn't want to see it collapse like this. Obviously, a vampire couldn't overtake the Kingdom, it would just start wars with other Kingdoms. So, he had to silently save the people that mattered and get rid of the higher class folks who was driven crazy with power and wealth.
Of course, it had been a mistake for him to dive into that room with the two people there, without even checking the area, but he had been in a hurry. And he already dealt with one of them, who was not going to be seen anytime soon.
And the other witness...
Well, Nightmare was the one tasked to follow him and bring him in for Error to talk to, but it seemed Nightmare had gotten a bit distracted.
Which was why Nightmare was sitting in front of him.
Nightmare was one of the more rare vampires who were born instead of turned, so he was naturally more powerful than the others. But that meant he had less control, which was why Error had to give him more attention than the others. It was a good thing he did, too, or else something bad would've ended up happening to his brother.
He looked completely different, due to him having his powers activated constantly. His powers caused a black goo like substance to cover his body, only making his left eye socket visible, where a glowing blue pupil was watching Error, and four large tentacles to wiggle on his back.
Unique powers for sure, that was a given.
"All I asked you to do was do what you did the other witness, bring them here," Error said, "So how did you exactly end up bringing a pillow back instead?"
"Funny story actually," Nightmare said, hugging the pillow on his lap, "I thought he was cute."
"So you took his pillow?" Error asked in confusion.
"It smelled like him, since he had slept with it for half of the night," Nightmare grumbled, picking at the edge of the pillow.
"Just because we can doesn't mean that we should take things that aren't ours unless necessary," Error said, "Especially if you just think it smells nice."
"But it reminds me of him, and he's really cute!" Nightmare whined, "He's like a little teddy bear that I want to squeeze to death with cuddles and affection!"
"You would kill him," Error pointed out.
"I would control myself..."
"Usually, I would be upset, but the information you gathered is actually very helpful. Knowing that the King wants to try and stop us before he has everything organized gives us a great advantage. Well done, Nightmare."
"Does that mean I can keep the pillow?"
~~~~~~
"So, we're going to the public library, since Asgore doesn't have one book not about war withother Kingdoms," Sans said to Cross, pulling out a thread of his robes so it stuck out unevenly.
"That's fine," Cross said.
"It's be a Sans-sational trip," Sans cracked out a pun, pointing a finger gun at him, "Well, you aren't going to be reading anything, you'll just be carrying the bag that'll be holding the books, and helping us put them back if they aren't useful."
"I don't think Asgore even knows that I can read," Cross mumbled, hoisting the backpack over his shoulder.
"Probably doesn't, but don't worry, he isn't coming," Sans said, pouring a little ketchup onto his clean outfit and rubbing it in, "This stupid cloth is so white it burns my eye sockets."
"Sans a-It's the new guy from Yesterday!"
They both turned to see an excited Blue standing in the doorway next to a tired Ink, who was rubbing the dark circles under his eyes.
"He was so excited about the project," Ink said, "Thta he kept me up all night."
"Karma sucks!" Dream's voice could be heard from down the hall.
"It does," Sans said.
While Sans and Ink talked, Blue had rushed up to Cross and grabbed his right hand in both of his hands, shaking it at violentl speeds.
"HI, I'M THE MAGNIFICENT BLUE, IT'S SUPER DUPER GREAT TO MEET YOU, I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE THE CHANCE TO TALK TO YOU AGAIN SINCE YOU RUSHED OUT OF THE KING'S OFFICE YESTERDAY-" Blue paused, taking in a deep breath, "-BUT THEN I WALKED INTO SANS' ROOM TO SEE IF HE WAS READY AND YOU WERE HERE TOO! DO YOU WANT TO BECOME FRIENDS? BLUE LOVES MEETING NEW FRIENDS! AND I'M BLUE, SO THAT MEANS I LIKE MEETING NEW FRIENDS TOO!"
"Names Cross-" Cross barely managed to squeeze in before Blue continued.
"YOU MEAN LIKE A CHURCH CROSS? THAT'S AN AMAZING NAME TOO! NOT AS AMAZING AS BLUE, BUT STILL PRETTY COOL! I'M SO GLAD WE'RE FRIENDS NOW! WE HAVE SO MANY THINGS TO TALK ABOUT..."
Blue continued ranting as he dragged away Cross, who looked a bit overwhelmed by the sudden change of voice and desire to become friends. Ink waved him off as Dream passed by the two skeletons, joining Sans' and Ink's conversation.
"Well, Blue found himself a new play pal it seems," Dream said.
"Cross probably won't survive the day, few do," Ink said.
"Don't doubt him, they might actually become friends," Sans suggested, "He's not a bad guy."
"That's good, maybe when Blue calms down a bit they'll actually get along," Ink offered.
Blue was the type of monster who was easily excitable, that was when there wasn't the King around. The King had told Blue he'd preferred that he kept his voice down, since it would sometimes give him a headache if he spoke too loud. And Blue obviously didn't want to disappoint the King, so he agreed and kept s respectable voice around the goat monster.
But when he was free...
Things could get loud.
"Hey, guys, I need to talk about something serious with you," Ink said, "And no puns Sans, it's the feeling."
Dream's and Ink's faces fell serious at the final sentence. Ink wasn't like normal monsters, who were born with souls and emotions. He wasn't born with a soul, so he couldn't feel emotions like other monsters did. So, some scientists (Sci was a part of it) had developed some medications to help him feel emotions, which were vials of bright colored liquids. They were only simulated emotions, so Ink couldn't understand exactly how others felt, and he had to take them twice a day in order to feel them.
But, when he wasn't under the influence of the medicine, he sometimes had a feeling where a soul could be. Ink isn't able to describe it much, but it was a gut wrenching feeling that made his head spin and him feel nauseous. Whever he felt that feeling, something bad that affected him personally would happen. The last time he felt it, his pet dog had died from a wolf attack. And the time before that, he was attacked by someone on the street who was trying to steal his cash.
So, that meant something bad was going to happen that day.
"Oh," Dream said, "That isn't good."
"Yeah, and it was worst than the other times, I fell out of bed," Ink expanded on his explanation.
"I have a feeling it has to do with the vampire thing," Sans said, "Since we just started last night."
"Does that mean they have a spy or something?" Dream asked.
"Possibly, possibly," Sans said, his left eye flashing with magic as he picked up a small notebook, opening it to scribble something down, "We'll have to keep an eye out, 'specially today. We should probably keep at least one person near Ink at all times, since it'll directly affect him."
"I don't need personal guards guys," Ink said.
"We're dealing with vampires," Sans said.
"Hey, not all vampires are bad!" Dream objected.
"I didn't mean it like that," Sans testified, "I meant like we don't know what their fully capable of. And if that feeling was worse than the other times..."
"...We can only assume this will be bad," Ink finished.
"Sorry, I'm just a bit upset at the whole 'we have to kill the vampires' thing King Asgore said. I was planning on talking to him, but
..."
"Yeah, it wouldn't be a good idea," Sans sighed, "It's best if we just stay alert today, it is a public library after all, that means anyone could come in after us."
"And there'll be no guards to protect us from an attack except for Edge," Ink said.
"We can fight pretty well, we've been trained after all," Dream said.
"Unless any of us have beaten a vampire, I don't think we should be cautious about this," Sans said, "This isn't just training against a normal monster, these are a bigger threat. A much bigger threat."
~~~~~~
"U-Um, Ink, hi!"
"Is there something I can do for you?"
"I just wanted to ask if you'd go o-o-out with me..."
"Like a date?"
"Y-Yes!"
"No."
"Wh-"
"I cannot feel emotions such as love, you should've known this. I did tell you this before, no?"
"You did... But I thought-"
"Don't waste your and my time again. Goodbye."

Yet another chapter out!
And I started getting more fanart, yay!
DapDaph324 created this awesome photo of the Crossmare child I made, Geo. Look at it! I think it looks amazing! And the collar they added looks adorable!
Go check them out, I'm practically squealing from happiness right now! I love fanart!
And I just now realized I have yet to draw the DustBerry child, so I need to get onto that!
One last thing, does anyone know any good fanfictions where the UnderTale characters find out about Sans' true powers and resets? I'm just in the mood for one.
