Chapter 46 - Time To Sail
Silica was awake at six, before the sun was even up.
She was used to going to sleep late and waking up early, it was a part of her daily schedule. Stay late until she closed the library, wake up early to open the library. It was always her routine, she wasn't used to having the ability to sleep in. She had always needed the gold.
Wocong was sitting on top of the kitchen table when she had entered, her hair pulled into a messy bun while she was wearing the same outfit as yesterday.
"Do you always sit on random things?" She asked the male.
"In times of stress, I sit on things that are not meant to be sat on, because I am too miserable to disgunish what is and isn't a seat," He said in a monotone voice, crossing his arms.
"Oh, well then," Silica said, "Completely different topic, where do you guys keep the food?"
"Fridge," He said.
"Oh, figures," Silica said, walking over and opening up the fridge.
It was suddenly slammed shut before she could even react, the person who was just on the table now was pressing against the fridge, leaning forward to inspect her. Because of Silica's height, she was slightly taller than him, so he was looking up at her while she was looking down.
"Why you here?" He asked.
"Why are you wearing that dumb mask?" Silica asked, flicking the mask.
"Listen, friend, we know how these sort of things work," He said, taking a threatening step closer, "You befriend us, take advantage of our stuff, then stab our behinds and try to murder us all."
"What, no, I'm not trying to take advantage of you!" Silica said.
"Sure," He said sarcastically , backing away a few steps, "I may not have evidence right now, but you'll screw up somewhere, and when you do, I'll be there."
"I just came here because I had the chance to get help for my friends back at my Kingdom, to get help for innocent people who don't deserve to get hurt!" The brown haired women defended herself.
"And I'm doing the same," He said, brushing past her, "If you dare do anything to hurt any of us, I'll end you."
She turned to watch him walk out of the kitchen, raising an eyebrow as she watched him.
What exactly happened that made him and that blondie paranoid over her arrival.
~~~~~~
"Hiya, I'm Bubb- Wait, you're that girl from my okd village! Here, I can help you up and take you inside."
"I'm PurpleFluffball, and it's nice to meet you. I heard you got attacked pretty badly, so I got some bandages for you!"
"I heard you're the new girl, the one Bubbly found beaten up. That's actually how Bubbly found me, too, so I guess you're in the same boat I was in."
"It's nice to meet you, I was named Kollectly, by my creators as a new name. I hope you feel welcome here."
"Name's Wocong, I'm new here too. I guess Bubbly and PurpleFluffball just like taking in friends, huh?"
"I-I can't believe... You wouldn't do this... Right? Right? Why? I trusted you! I TRUSTED YOU!"
"Get a-away from me! You're sick! Who would even do that?"
"You backstabbed them! You backstabbed all of us! They let you in, housed you, and this is how you repay them? By attempting to kill them?"
"ErRor, systems ShuTIng dOWn, E-E-Errorrrrrr..."
"I should've known never to trust you."
~~~~~~
"I'm afraid, you know..."
PurpleFluffball was sitting on her bed, her legs crossed. She was wearing a pink and purple robe set, one that was her special gown. She was heading out today to a meeting with other Kings and Queens from different Kingdoms to talk over the possibility of alliances, which was their third meeting this month. There was a lot of debate, and all of the Kingdoms were afriad of Asgore's army.
He was the biggest Kingdom out of all of theirs, his army size was three times bigger than anyone elses, not to mention his whole Kingdom is centered around battling. There had been a war before, over ten years ago, and if he hadn't retreated into his land, half of the Kingdoms still standing would've been wiped out completely. Not to mention that he wasn't afraid of his armies dying, he was willing to sacrifice anyone else to ensure that he lived. That was a person to be terrified of.
He would do anything to win.
The Kingdoms all knew that he used some of the budget for his own selfish needs instead of feeding his citizens, but it was worse than that. Most of the gold went towards supplying his armies, meaning that they had the most amount of weapons, and probably food. Which would encourage other starving people to join the army, making his army power just increase.
"It has'a been a stress filled month, yes it has," Bubbly said, sitting down next to her, "But ya will do fine! They ain't hating on you, ain't they?"
"But they aren't agreeing with my idea, either," The Queen said, sighing, "And you won't even be there since you're doing something with your spies."
"I'm taking 'em back, having 'em retreat," Bubbly said, "It's getting too risky now'a to have them there like 'at. I told them to all get together, get some 'o the citizens, and we're boarding a lot of ships and getting t'a heck outa there."
"If Asgore wasn't planning on declaring war before, he definitely is now," The purple haired female groaned into her hands.
"Ya heard the reports from before, he was gonna do it anyway!" Bubbly said, putting her hands on her hips, "By getting rid o' me an' Silica."
"We actually have to talk about her, too."
Bubbly fell silent, chewing on her bottom lip as she looked to the side and out the window at the dark sky.
"She ain't like that," She whispered.
"I hope not, I really do," PurpleFluffball said, looking away as she closed her eyes, "But we can't play the good Samaritan, no matter how much she can help us. Don't tell her everything, and keep her on a short leash."
"...Okay," Bubbly whispered, her lips pressing together.
"I don't want a repeat of last time, we lost too many lives that day," The women said quietly, "We almost died."
"She won't be like tha', she ain't filled with L.O.V.E."
"We can't see that, we don't have the ability like that one spy of yours does. Please, Bubbly, just be careful."
"I will, I am the second Queen 'ere, after all," Bubbly said.
~~~~~~
Lust folded his hands onto his lap after he had set down his tea. Grillby looked over at him and smiled reassuringly, but the smile was hollow. They both knew this meeting probably wasn't going to go well.
They usually didn't have to deal with the King himself, but today they did. Sometimes they would just see him around, and would bow after greeting him, but that was the extent.
"Ah yes, the son and wife of the son of my bankers!" Asgore's voice boomed as he stepped into the room.
"Yes, hello King Asgore," Grillby said, bowing before he shook hands with the King, Lust doing the same.
"It's a pleasure to see you, as it always is," Lust lied, smiling brightly at him.
"Of course it is," The King said, sitting down at the table on the opposite side, "I'm glad you both were able to make it on such short notice, even though I'm sure you both were very busy."
"We can always make room for the King," Grillby said, smiling at Asgore.
"As you heard from the message I sent you, I am planning a wedding, next month," The goat monster said, placing his hands together, "This Kingdom is in desperate need of a Queen, and heir to the throne to continue my legacy."
"Yes, we were very excited when we heard the news," Grillby lied.
"I am so excited!" Lust giggled after he lied, hugging his husbands arm, "I remember my wedding with Grillby, and it was so much fun and magically, I am prepared to make your wedding to your Fiancé even more better than ours!"
"Of course, it's natural for a women to get too emotional over little things," Asgore said, "All of the upper class citizens must be invited, and it'll be here, in the palace. I don't care if it's romantic or not, since this isn't a marriage over love, it is so that way I can get a child to continue on my work when I pass away."
"Yes, of course," Grillby said, "But, may I ask, you exactly are you being wedded to?"
"My Royal Judge."
Grillby almost spat out his tea that he was drinking. The Royal Judge, the guy from the party, Sans? Sure, he thought the little skeleton was kinda cute, but he didn't think the King would marry someone like him. And it wasn't like Grillby was just jealous, he was just mostly surprised, and a bit worried for the Royal Judge.
"Oh, I see," Grillby said, "But rest assured, we will make sure we can have a grand wedding for you and the Royal Judge."
"Excellent," Asgore said.
~~~~~~
"Where did you get the power source from?" Bubbly asked Gaster.
"I made it myself after hours," Gaster said, holding up the homremade device the size of his fist.
It was a simple box with blue and red glowing lines running along the outside, a few beeping green lights scattered along the edges. There was a slot in the robot where he slid it into, the device connecting to the inside robot.
"And while this charges up our cyborg, we can leave it here," Gaster said, stepping outside of the glass square and locking the door with a key from his pocket.
"Why do we have to lock it away?" Bubbly asked, "I thought this space was just for dangerous experiments."
"It is, this is a very dangerous experiment," He said, grabbing her shoulder, "I don't want you in this room, ever again. This device can go wild and attack you, and possibly even kill you."
"But don't you have control over the robot?" She asked as she was directed out of the room.
"I don't know yet, I'll find out when it powers on," The tall skeleton said, pushing up his glasses, "Just stay out of this room, alright? I don't want to clean up a dead body."
"Okie dokie!" Bubbly said, giving him a thumbs up, "I got ya!"
But, while she did that, she swore she could hear a distant pleading.
《》《》《》
Spooky stuff indeed.
And I have a timeline for the rest of the book, so yay! I actually know where I'm going with this! I'm so excited!
