Chapter 41 - The First Spy

The Royal Guard member was in a rush to report, his black cape swishing across the ground as he walked. He didn't want to attract any attention to him after all.

Asgore was in the hallway ahead of him, talking to Edge about who knows what. He noticed the Royal Guard approaching him and looked over.

"Oh, hello," Asgore said, breaking off his conversation with Edge, "Did you find Sans?"

"I found his location," The Guard confirmed.

"So where is he?" The King asked.

"It seems he and Blue went out into the town," The cloaked male lied, "Something about looking for some nice clothes for a special someone he wants to impress tomorrow."

"It looks like he did accept my deal," Asgore said, grinning, "I guess soon we'll have a heir to the throne that I can train. That is good. Perhaps wedding preperations are due."

"Would you like to start right away?" The Royal Guard member asked, "I have duities to attend, but-"

"No, I have some other ideas and other people to call in," Asgore said, "I should probably call in the family that runs the banks, they would be able to see how much gold I have. And you, Edge, I want you to keep an eye on Sans. Royal Guardsman, lead him to Sans now."

"On it," Both of them said before Asgore walked off to go start something else.

"So, what part of town is Sans currently at?" Edge asked, turning to his co-worker.

"In the kitchen," He said, gesturing back.

"What?" Edge asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I lied."

"But why?"

"Sans isn't getting ready for a wedding, I doubt he ever will. If I were you, I'd make sure you three stay hidden from Asgore today."

When the Royal Guard started to walk away, Edge grabbed his sleeve and pulled him back.

"Look, I'm not mad," The skeleton said, "I'm just confused on why you're lying to the King. Why?"

"It's not safe here," The other said, grabbing Edges wrist and pulling it off of his shoulder, "Meet me later, around the time the sun will set. We can discuss the details later."

Edge stared for a moment before taking a step back, breathing out a small, "Fine," before he walked off towards the kitchen.

And so, he continued onwards to his room without any more disruptions. It was a small room, like most Royal Guards was, with a normal desk, bed, and weapon holder on the wall.

The short Royal Guard sat down at his desk after closing and locking his door, pulling open his desk drawer to his right. Inside was filled with a bunch of papers and pens, all filled with scribbles and little notes he would sometimes look over. It held some of the employees schedules, likes and dislikes, etc.

He was a busy spy, he couldn't remember it all constantly.

~~~~~~
"The ship will be leaving in five minutes!" A voice yelled out.
Bubbly grabbed his hand and pulled him forward as fast as she could run, both of them hurrying to the ship as quick as possible.
"We have one more!" Bubbly said to the Captain of the ship, holding up his arm that she was holding.
The Captain was a simple looking person, with blond hair and green eyes. He had been wearing a brand new Captain hat, and he was writing down something before he looked up to see the two.
"Another kid?" He asked, shaking his head, "Bubbly, we can't add in more children to this place! You barely managed to convince me for the other two, and that was with the parent agreeing. Not another one. They are going to the Kingdom that is known for it's war, I don't want to send a child to his death. No matter how strong he is."
"Please, sir," The male begged, "I have no family, and Bubbly is my only friend. I won't survive here, either. I just want to help out my Kingdom."
"You're just a kid, I can't do that," The Captain said.
"Please, Captian!" Bubbly asked, "He really wants to go! He might save us all if he does go!"
"He's like what, 12?" He said, shaking his head, "No, I don't think so."
"Let him go."
PurpleFluffball was standing there with her arms crossed, a firm look set on her face. She had a piece of paper in her hand, which she handed over to the Captain of the ship.
"They have adults in there that will help them, not to mention how whether we like it or not, this war won't last a few years. They'll be in contact with us constantly, so if something goes wrong, we can always send a ship over. And I have the Kings permission to send him over."
"Thank you," The short male said, hugging PurpleFluffball before hugging Bubbly.
"Remember to always contact me every week," Bubbly said, pulling away.
"I will," He said, nodding at her.
"First a toddler, now another kid, Toby Fox..." The man said, gesturing to the walking board, "Get on, quickly please."
"Desperate times call for desperate measures," PurpleFluffball said, taking back the piece of paper, "But I need to say goodbye to my friend real quick."
"We have two minutes until we set sail, make it quick so Bubbly can be a temp," He said before walking up.
"You forged the Kings signature?" Bubbly hissed at her.
"What else could I do?" PurpleFluffball asked, "You saw how much he wanted to go there to help!"
"I just didn't want to forge a signature, that's all," Bubbly groaned.
"He did threaten to blackmail us for the whole incident before, with ;*÷\÷; and her wings," The purple haired girl said, "We might as well break the law again."
"Yeah, I know," Bubbly said, sticking out her fist, "But I gatta go. See ya later?"
"Yeah, see you," PurpleFluffball said, pumping her fist into Bubbly's.
~~~~~~

He had wanted revenge on Asgore so, so badly. The army Asgore had sent to his town haf killed his parents that day, and he so desperately wanted to see the Kings blood. However, he wasn't old enough to join the army, and they weren't going to be allowed to even invade the Kingdom anymore. So, he heard the news about sending spies over by sneaking them in through ship, and he wanted to join.

Luckily, he knew the temp.

She and her two friends didn't live too far from him, Bubbly would sometimes bump into him in his town and make some small talk. His parents worked at the bakery there, and she loved food, so she was basically there every visit. After his village was destroyed, he went to hers, and one night, he had witnessed them fighting.

And saw some blackmail material.

He had kept it to himself, but then the news about spies being boarded on the ship Bubbly was going to be temping for the first time was when he threatened her with it. Get him onto the ship as a spy, or else everyone would find out. She managed to get him on, and now here he is.

She had given him an orb infused with magic, one that could be used for contacting hers. Through it, he gave the news and updates on his Kingdom, and she would give updates on hers. He reported about the Royal Guard and conditions of the citizens, and she told him about how she had met the King and started to work at the labs, until eventually becoming second in command of the whole Kingdom and in charge of trade completely.

It was pretty impressive.

The orb was hidden under all of the papers, looking like a normal fake pearl off of a piece of jewelry that just so happened to be in his drawer. Nothing suspicious, nothing too big.

He set it down onto the desk before drawing down his hood, revealing a round skeleton head with a long scar running from one eye socket. He had sharp teeth and blood red eyes, his red gloves reaching over and taping the orb.

It glowed a few moments before lifting into the air, expanding in size before becoming transparent, an image of a bed with a lump under the blankets appearing on it.

"Um, Bubbly," The skeleton said.

"Oh, Razz..." Her voice grumbled, brown hair poking out from under the blanket, followed by her face, "G'Morning mate."

"You look tired," Razz commented.

"Yup'a," She muttered, sitting up as she yawned loudly, "Stayed up last'a night, had a visitor, yes I did."

"Was it that one girl?" He asked, "Were you explaining things to her?"

"Stayed u' all night, teachin' her those things she gatta know," The Captain said, rubbing her eyes, "So, what's the scoop? Whatcha got for littl' ol' me?"

"Sans and Blue are preparing to release a family that's supposed to be executed," Razz said.

The human looked over at her orb floating above her dresser, a surprised expression growing on her face.

"Well, that'a screws up the plans, big time," She said, running a hand over her face.

"I think we should start the helping plan earlier, so we can help them escape," The other said, "We'll also have the night to cover our escape. No war, no big fighting, just sneak in, grab them, sneak out, leave."

"I'll have'ta set sail in wha'... Hour?"

"Would you rather them get killed over something so stupid?"

There was a pause before she spoke.

"No, nah, just... Gosh, this'a suddenly all happening at once. Overwhelming, kinda."

"If you'd let me, I can attack Asgore."

"No, don't kill yerself either, oka'?" Bubbly snapped, "We'll use t'a hidden straget', so ya better be ready with them, since we need'a board then leave."

"Got it."

~~~~~~
"Wow, you already managed to get some activity?" Bubbly asked, peering over the data.
"Yes, it seems we got lucky," Gaster said, taking a step back, "It's already reporting activity in the system. And I haven't even fully installed the power source completely yet."
"That's awesome!" The girl said.
"It's interesting," The scientist said, "Not 'awesome'."
"Okie," She said.
"My Toby Fox, you're more annoying then my own Son," He grumbled.
"He says hey, aren'tcha gunna respond?' Bubbly questioned.
"No."
"Why not?"
"It's a waste of time."
She frowned at him.
"Why is that?"
A bone suddenly appeared in front of her face, making the teenage girl jump backwards out of fear, yelping rather loudly.
"Every assistant should be ready for an accident," Gaster said, waving his hand so the attack would disappear, "It looks like you aren't."
And as she watched him turn away, there was one voice overpowering the others in her mind.
Why did he avoid the question?
